Can find sound effects menu - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I deleted the musicfx apk and now the sound effects menu has disappeared. I even reinstalled the musicfx apk and it is still missing.
Anyone had this issue?

i dont know if it works but try to uninstall it and copy it to system/app and make sure you set the permissions to -rw--r--r.

If you download an other equalizer like noozxoide the sound dc list will be there again . I had this problem too and this fixed it

None of those suggestions worked. Maybe I should pull the settings apk from my rom and replace my current one?

[Q] Camera+Gallery missing after installing CM10.1 and gapps

I've installed cm-10.1-20121221-NIGHTLY-mako.zip and gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip on my nexus4.
However, the camera and gallery app appear to be missing after doing this. I can still access camera from the lockscreen.
Is there a solution for getting the camera and gallery app back?
Thanks
Verify that the packages exist in the ROM and gapps, and if they do, just reflash.

Camera is integrated within the gallery.apk

I see googlegallery.apk in /system/apps but it says "No Install" in the file explorer. Trying to install it also fails.
I have the same problem with my nexus 10 with cm10.1 rc1. Got a solution?

Immovable Google search

After reboot, this Google search bar just permanently placed itself and I lost the theme option completely. Any ideas?

What Rom and mods are you using? That looks like what a Samsung UI search looks like.
Did you recently install a Mod?
Stock rom. I just noticed I lost the ability to theme individual icons. Instead of the option to name and change icon, it just picks it up and I have option to delete or show info. Maybe my launcher is gone? I had x posed with g2 settings installed but I uninstalled them. Would an option to select theme just disappear?
Sent from my LG-D803 using Tapatalk
A theme option should be here right?

Yes, there should be an option at the top. Something tells me that a theme you tried to install conflicted with the stock rom that might have not been compatible.
If youve added any mods or themes I would freeze or remove them in titanium backup and restart and see if that fixes the issue.
Most of my theme icons came back except the apps icon after few reboots. Does titanium detect and let me remove themes even if my option to theme is gone?

Yes because after you flash the zips in recovery they become apk's

Ok hmm, can you see them in titanium Bu? They should be apk's, if so go on and try uninstalling them. This should fix your problem if its a theme conflicting with your stock image.
I had this issue as well.
I did factory reset and all was better.
It seems that I somehow I installed my home launcher.

Uninstalling then going into whatever recovery you have , stock or custom, and clearing caches usually can did that. Then re installing.

So you know, xposed works on our phones but not all the mods and hacks will work, I've had success getting about 50% of the tweaks to work in the Wanum xposed module. It is not written for our version of the S4 but a lot of the tweaks will work.
After I did a fresh load of the FULL NAE I got the framework to install. It's great
Thanks

Viper4android on KK not working.

I just updated to 4.4.2 (stock, deodex) and to my surprise I can't get into the sound fx settings. It crashes. Everything installed correctly from what I could tell. I saw in this forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/themes-apps/viper4android-soundfix-4-4-1-4-4-2-t2564725 there is a fix but it's a nexus 4 forum. Does anyone know if I can use this method for my note 3? I'm on the latest safestrap (3.72) and want to verify I won't brick my phone or if it's even possible to flash the zip file with safestrap. Thanks guys.

I've been using it and have not had any issues. You've changed the build.prop file?
Yes sir, are you on stock rooted?

Can we flash zip files on safestrap 3.72? I want to flash that "fix" file to see if that solves my problem.

I'm not now but I was and it worked fine. You can flash zips in SS, as always make a backup just to be safe.

copythe file to system/app and changing permissions to rw-r-r. Restarting and running the app from the app drawer... that's all I did and it ran perfectly

Everything installs correctly with the exception when I go into the sounds settings, crashes. I am trying to choose viper4android Fx, I have tried every suggestion. I have not flashed the fix file because I don't want to brick my phone

It worked for me by doing the following
Copy all to system, priv app, the changing permissions to rw-r-r, then rebooting immediately
Then as soon as it boots you will see the Android is updating the go to settings, the sound and select Viper and reboot again
Then go into your build prop and change the settings and save go into app and download drivers, then reboot
From there you should be working . Make sure not to change the email settings in music on Samsung music app If you are using that or any other player as that has given me issues I leave everything alone and it works for me when streaming via Bluetooth even with the stock music app I don't use world headphones so not sure if it works there but I've tested on:
Samsung stock music app
Mxplayer
Sirius xm
allshare cast
Good luck

I have fixed my problem, after upgrading to KK I had frozen music fx settings using titanium, unfroze and followed your steps and it's working. Thank you again!
Edit: under processing it's says: no
Does that mean it's not enabled?

Correct...you made sure busy box is installed and changed build prop ? I have had a similar issue trying to manually install apk . So I deleted it and just downloaded it from the play store and installed it that way.
P.S. also realize it doesn't work with the stock music player. Only 3rd party music players.

I installed the rooted NC2 Odex this week and Viper is working just fine with the Google Play Music app, just like it did with the MJE ROM.

LGVideo

Looking for LGVideo odex file from stock RIM or another way to recover this app after using the cam upgrade app from another thread that backs up. Can't seem to get the app reinstalled.

Thanks, tried pushing both of those to the priv—app folder and changing permission and ownership but they still don't show up in the app drawer. Anything I am missing?
