Hi all,
I recently got an SGS3 and would like to flash a better rom on it. I have a few questions for those of you that have experimented already with it and would appreciate any attempt to help me
1)What is the best touchwiz based rom. Are there any good touchwiz roms that maintain full functionality as the original samsung rom, however still further improve on performance etc?
2)Paranoid android vs CM10.1. Which one do you think is better? I love HALO on Paranoid Android! It looks so cool!!!However how does the overall rom stack up against the other AOSP roms? Is it as fast/stable? Any broken features?
Thanks in advance for your answers!

I'm enjoying Ingress, but interested in trying out a new ROM. I'm currently eyeing Minco (http://minco.mobi/), but I wanted to know if anyone knows if they will work together, or how I can tell if they work together.
Thanks for your help.

Ingress is a game. What does that have to do with Roms?
Yes minooch and Franco are working together to develop the minco ROM.
Make sure you download the mako version.

If you're wondering if ingress works with minco then my answer is why not! Of course it'll work. Why wouldn't it?

To be honest, I'm new to android, and thought that for some reason, custom ROMs could cause problems due to bugs, or some sort of block since it isn't an "official" and "trusted" build. Thanks for the answers

Minco is the best rom for stability/battery
For customization go with ParanoidAndroid, AOKP or CyanogenMod
Which roms are cm based and which are aosp? I notice when there are kernels to flash, how do I know which roms are cm based... Such as aokp and paranoid android?
Thanks

this is a nexus. most roms are based on clean aosp.
you probably come from a legacy device, its very different over there. cm in these forums plays a prominent role because they enable other roms to function through their device trees. its not needed here. on nexus cm is like any other rom.

I understand that mostly but still roms in the development section here have a cm based kernel and a regular. Some are universal and state that.
For instance I use matrix kernel now and I am running it with Minco... But what if I used paranoid android or aokp... Would I use the matrix cm version or matrix regular.
Thanks for the help.

You can use any kernel to run on any ROM of your choice. To answer your question, if you're going to use paranoidandroid or aokp, you will have to use the regular matr1x kernel as it is designed to work on any ROM (it works on cm 10.1 too..I think)

The kernel developers will tell you in their OP on which versions you can use on what ROM. If they don't tell you, you can pretty Much install it on any ROM.

If you need to know if they're cm based or asop, it is stated in the title of the ROM of the thread.

cm is aosp based. most nexus 4 kernels are compatible with most nexus 4 roms(if not all).
Hi
I'm loving the wicked rom for t mobile but have grown tired of the Samsung stock dialer and contacts app. Is there any way to push the AOSP dialer and contacts app into TW? It looks like the foxhound rom for the i9505 has the features I'm looking for but the download link is down. Are there any other roms out there with the AOSP themed TW that is compatible with ATT? I'd go with an actual AOSP rom, but I don't want to lose the Samsung camera. Thanks guys!

Foxhound is really nice but that's the only one I've seen themed like that so far.. You'll have to wait till he posts a new version without Xposed

Check out mintjelly by nottach... Pretty similar in looks to foxhound

Foxhound is back online and you can also use the VRdomination theme from the i9505 theme and app section. Its a zip that will theme most of your things to aosp style.
I just posted in the theme section the dark Dialer and contacts and mms that I'm using on wicked3

Damn auto correct
"Try and see" rom is the best.
Now please delete this thread, it's against the rules.

I think they meant a Touchwiz ROM by the word "stock", here is a Touchwiz ROM that is still being actively updated- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3115583
