Hi, i've seen lot of posts asking for older Markpython's rom lately.
Since i respect Mark's work on fixing touchpads for stock ICS, and i have most of he's roms still on PC, i tought i could upload them and share with community.
I will not give support for these roms, you'll have to test them yourself.
List is made of roms, patches and addons by the date of releases (from older to newer)

As for kernels, Doomlords kernel work 100% on all of them, and it should work Lupus's ics stock based kernel

I think @markphyton have to comeback to Xda. Here he's a legend. Look how many things he made for us. And you forgot the new kernel based on doomlord V3

Newest Mark's rom "Xperia Z Play" use modified kernel, but i don't have that file on my PC, so i didn"t upload it. Mark sometimes delete old versions, so i didn't want to put dead/soon to be dead links.
I agree, Mark is great modder, it's shame he left xda...

hi mark
are you using that reserving ram by framworke edits in this version too?
if yes can you make an addon for the original one without that framework edits?
the only thing that stops me from installing your rom is this

nice to see you here..i think you can post your rom here on xda..if someone wants they take it from german forum anyways mark..i m sure no one will do that ,i sure report them..so post your rom here please.
@markphyton,i tried out final version, but it always gives me android.process.acore stop responding after i change language to portuguese..and after i remove a ton of apps to get this rom boot. we really need ICS roms too and all developers here..and all users know, im a fan of JB, but i always liked your roms (beta tester on many occasions) and @frago21ps..so bring awsome ICS roms to xda.

I'm currently running Xperia Play Z Final from the website link Mark provided, waiting on V2 Final for better ram management!

and will you add real xperia z system ui as an addon

So guys play z v2 is finally out, much more smooth and fast, thanks mark...
But i have one question, when you copy the folder in SD to system/vendor, do you have to set permissions??

[General][discussion] spaarc is back , Alive and kicking ^^

Firstly -pilot- I'm sorry for spamming buddy
I'm back and looking for ideas as always
I was thinking ICS , but we have amazing devs like zdzihu who will get everything done
Then cyanogenmod , but we have the fxp team
Then stock based , we have many roms and amazing devs like team , thjap and wolf break
Then miui , but there are many out there by oodie , robertberma , cobra to and a1exander
May be I'm not required any more ????
But still need ideas
I think u must join zdzihu in ICS rom
Yeah a stable fully working ICS would be very good. Zdzihu is abroad and have not enough tools and time there so any dev helping would speed up the Development alot. I think 4.0 is very good and we all should help with our knowledge to get it working.

I know ICS is amazing
But I don't quite have the knowledge to cook drivers etc.
I can't even download the android source code at the stupid Internet speed I have ...
All can do is mod
If I knew driver coding I would surely help him
I could try modding ICS
could i ask for a newer version of the Ginger Villain Rom? Your last version was excellent!

I haven't change the stock ROM, since it was released (I used to flash froyo and eclair roms once a week, now Kernels only).
Simply in my opinion, stock SE rom is finer than any MIUI or AOSP roms
Why don't you develop a new more advanced kernel for 2.3.7 - 4.0.1. Many believe that the 2.6.29 Kernel is holding things back.

Very pleased to see you back Spaarc buddy
Needing a little advice myself in terms of AOSP if you can help?
Anyway Goro is already Porting Xperia 2011 Kernel to x10
2.6.32.9 and has it booting so its kinda unnecessary at the minute
Maybe just make your AOSP perfect
The only thing missing from x10 right now is sense... I know you've tried it and its hard but there are ppl out there who have had it working on x8 sgs2 and other devices, maybe get some advice and give it another shot?? The amount of testers will be huge if you get it working mate

Oh yeah cool ,
It will take me months to port sense
If you could wait I will try
It is very very tough
I make no promises
But aosp will be here shortly

hi there
1st great work on rom would love to give it a go as there is'nt much choice on modded GB roms now and im hoping this will be the 1 for me.
that's if i can i find it!!
please can you provide link
thanks will get back as asap
one more thing have you tested transferring large (2gb) files? only reason i ask is im using gin2jb / stock and have this problem where the phone reboots mid transfer tried on win xp fails but works on win 7
106 ioneyeer
i would also like to try your rom.. Im currently using true ancestor for stock roms.

Want to install custom rom. plz help

i want to install custom ginger bread or ics rom on my xperia x10. i want stable rom. can anyone help me with this...
Begin with rooting your device, its pretty easygoing.. there are ample guides for.it! And then get a custom recovery once u do all this the rock solid rom is to be chosen, for me its wolfbreak if you are absolutely sure about safeplay and if some tweaks and real cool rom is that you want i would suggest feralab V 20! Do a bit of searching! And ya for fera rom you might need to unlock bootloader for this too.... Ohh ya begin with installing flashtool on your pc and just follow few guides you will rock in few days! Do search!!
Sent from my Xperia X10 using xda app-developers app
"Flashtool". It is all you need!
And a Rom... If you only want a faster rom that looks like stock gb.... head over for leaf rom.
If you want something new, try a dixperia (7 or 8, but 7 seems to me to be the better one), for performance and a lot to play around try m&m team cm7.2, for gaming wolfs gaming rom and for th Ultimate Over kill bombastic Rom choose Feralab ICS v2! By the way its cm9.2 and i use it right now .
But i recommend to start on a gingerbread rom.
At last if your keen on style and looks try cosmicUI, a MIUI port, its unbeatable in looks and theming.
Greets
If you dont care about garanty than the easiest way is to download and install flashtool, download doomkernel to "firmwares" folder of flashtool. Then enable "usb debugging" in your phone (settings- apps- development) and put it on your pc, wait till flashtool recohnizes your phone, then click on "plugins" in flashtool and "unlock bootloader", wait till it finished and click flash, choose flashmode and then the doomkernel. After that youll have Root, X- and clockwordmodrecovery and a custom kernel on that you can flash any stock based rom, e.g. dixperia 7 avenger

I find DonutHD to be the best of both worlds. Its smooth, stable, and shire as hell faster than CM 7.2. Oh and bro tip use doomkernel!
Sent from my X10i using xda app-developers app
ya, man, stay away from all, ya, iean all , ics rom. they cannot meet your criteria of stability.
just stick to gingerbread.
great gingerbread roms are:
donuthd
feralab JAF
focus on this 2.
for kernel, great kernels are:
ferakernel
doomkernel (medium overclocked one)
thats all you need for npw.
if you like some adventure later on, you could try flashing ics rom . as said before, ics roms are all not stable.
however, you could see some new features.
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
sorry bro but currently I am at feraICS v2.2 and its as stable as donut hd.... i tried both and so I can really say that, dunno what you did.
But forvthe first Timevit is really better to flash a gingerbread Rom and at the moment x10 doesnt really need ics brcause all one need is running on gingerbread as well, probably better, and it has more free ram too. but that doesnt mean at all that ics isnt stable.

Jelly Bean 4.2, will that be officially available for Sony Xperia Arc S ?

I've been trying to get 4.2 JB Flavor ever since it is released. But I stuck with customized ROM available in the Development Section.
Tried:
1] [ROM][Arc/S][+PRO]|C.A.M.P.S+™|CM10ϟ|AOKPϟ|Paranoid?ϟ|MiUiϟ|Sonyϟ|V0 4ϟ12/11/2012|Up^ϟ = WIFI is not working even I tried changing other Kernel with WIFI fixes but no relief.
2] [rom][update jb][4.1.2]arc/s v04 very stable and nice[20121119] = Device Getting Hang Up couple of times, Takes lot of time to restart.
Finally I End up with
3] [ROM][GB\ICS][23/Nov/12] MIUI4 2.11.16 based on SE ICS Release .587 = ICS based but stable and working fine.
Now my Qn is when can we get a customized stable ROM with JB 4.2 Flavor?
Prompt Reply Will Be Appriciated.

arc s cant handle jb 4.2.. i think it would be too laggy
Well, I think if developers can remove bloat ware and other unnecessary applications, heavy power packed gapps is not necessary except play store. So in that case we hopefully expect 4.2 flavour?
Right?
Do correct me.
After all I don't think arc s will have leave that attenuated segment so early.

[GUIDE]400MG SYSTEM PARTITON ON ZEUS BOARD(without modified kernels)

as you all know i was working on a kernel with 400mg system partiton but i didnt had the enough experience in building kernels so i tried doing it a new way
as you know arc s has 400mg system partiton and i saw that we can flash arc s ftf on our play and it will work
ok heres what you have to do step by step
1-install flashtool and its drivers
2-download arc s ftf from here (thanks to @zohaib0001 for his link): http://d-h.st/cyw
3- now install this ftf on your play by doing these setting before flashing:
1-all wipes should be checked
2-only exclude base band
3- no final vertification should be check
4-now simply flash it on your play
5-after flashing install a kernel with unmodified partition on your play(even before booting or anything else)
6-now flash a rom on your play and enjoy 400mg system partiton
important: your kernel should have unmodified partition or you will lose 400mg system partition
red: this mod wont work on this kernel
green: this kernel will work(tested by myself)
blue: this kernel will work but not tested by anyone
purple: this kernel will work(tested by one of the users)

warning:you cant use this on r800x thanks to @darkharbinger81 for testing and reporting it here
if i missed any kernel please tell me
you will get about 40mg more storage in user data and 80mg more storage in system partiton
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33364691&postcount=2
tnx to @CosmicDan for posting Stock Partition Parameters
thread is 90% ready enjoy it
(only needs some redesigning and maybe some more help about how to flash with flashtool and maybe some screenshots)
Great guide!
I've tested DoomLord's ICS v3 kernel and it worked
Size of partitions is:
System: 400MB
Data: 420MB
Cache: 100MB
Question: Is stock kernel from Play's firmware having partition layout? Can it be done on locked bootloader?
no it doesn't have have any modified partiton so you can even use this on stock-rom and kernel
but its not necessary because gb roms need less than 200mg system partiton but it will give them a little more data partition
i will add everything about partitions soon
edit: but you have to flash the kernel only not the whole ftf file as you will lose this mod by doing that
Unfortunately for cdma users this guide won't work for us as we can't flash other partitions to my knowledge
Sent from my R800x using xda app-developers app
give it a try(if you have arc s ftf)
it may work
i thought that it wont work on R800i too but it worked
update: added lupus ics beta
tested by myself and its working
this kernel and doomlord ics are best kernels for porting ics roms now
update: tested doom kernel gb too
its working
thread updated again
now most of the kernels are tested
but 2 things are still not tested
1-cdma support
2-lupus ics/gb with cm9 support(as this kernel is not updated to latest version and v6 has too many performance problem i dont recommend to use this kernel even if it works completely with this mod)
also the green color that i used for the tested kernel was unreadable so i changed it with a new color
maybe @Bakisha can do it on lupus v13 JB as he did it ICS..without any mod like that..seems to cause lost of signal and other minor bugs on play..
you wont get any problem because if you do it as i said your baseband will be the old one and the only changed thing will be system(that will be changed again) and partition layout
im running this mod from when i written it and i had no problem
severe boredom made my try this and guess what no go like I said for CDMA
