Does anyone here who has a facebook acct sign up for mobile alerts? If so how did you get them? I had them working on my Palm Pre now that I got the EVO I sent them a text to 32665 and I never receive anything back soooo is it working for you all?

Set it up in your facebook account on the computer.
www . facebook . com / mobile / ? settings
I went from us cellular to Sprint.. had Facebook notifications to my tp2.. now Sprint kept my number and same thing happened.. update profile and van! Got my txt to Facebook with fb in it to work and got my activation code.. go to setting updates and update profile..

Can someone explain to me why facebook can't get it together enough to get notifications in the status bar like gmail?
facebook can and does popup on the notification bar. Its just clicking on the notifications takes you to the website.
I get mine on my status bar.. you have to go to the website.. If on phone go to full site.. right side of screen should say connect on the go try facebook mobile.. click..
Look for Facebook text messaging and follow steps.. if you send the txt to.Facebook with fb in it and get no reply like I did... update your profile! wouldn't work for 2 days till I tried that.. sent and received my code.

How long does that supposed to take tho, I tried last night and it was taking forever
I am only seeing facebook notifications at the top when I open the app.. Do i just need to leave it running in the background to see these?
For awhile I had just been relying on email notifications, but would prefer to not sync that account..
Update! I started the update profile at 8:38 AM CST, and now on my screen is Device Configuration Teh network is preparing your services....
the time now is 9:19 AM CST..

You guys check out the app "Bloo" from the market. It will give you facebook notifications. Also, try searching for bloo 1.5. It has facebook chat

I don't think we can. Mods took it down on other post but if you search google, you will be able to find it

Mine are!!!!
The push notifications work for me. They work for both messages (comments and sht) and facebook chat. The facebook chat so far is better than any of those other apps ive used to use facebook chat. They finally got something right, because this facebook chat also rapes the chat on the iPhone.
I wonder if the ppl that say it doesnt work have "enable always-on mobile data" unchecked. If thats unchecked, it will not work at all on 3g. Well...it'll work when you're using the 3g, but wont work as soon as you turn your screen off.
I'm running CM6 on wifi and I haven't gotten any push notifications at all. I have notifications and such enabled and have gotten emails from facebook in the meantime, but no push notifications.

Facebook chat now on there YES
Push notifications seem to be working. I can finally disable email notifications. I like the inclusion of chat but I still prefer Trillian since I can do multi service (GChat + facebook for me) and it also supports the push notifications service.
I can't get it to STOP notifying me. I went into the settings and turned off notifications, but they're still showing up, grrrrr
^^^^ Having the same problem, any one have a solution for this. I had to actually log out because I kept getting chat notifications...
Anyone figured out why cleared/deleted chat conversations keep coming back?
Do the people that are receiving notifications have it synced in the "accounts sync" settings area of android or should the app be pushing notifications regardless? I still only receive notifications when I open the app.

Every time I go into add account for Accounts & Sync, Facebook just doesn't load. Facebook for HTC Sense does though as with everything else.
Ah, good I guess for me. I'm in the same boat.

As am i. I can click on Facebook in accounts and sync but nothing happens. I have only received 1 push notification from chat. I am running the newest stock 3.70 ROM

Admittedly I'm no Facebook expert, but I never remember getting repeated notifications on my S2 to set up Facebook account with GALAXY S4. What's that all about? I'm already signed into FB in my apps.

Yeah, I noticed that going to Facebook via the browser as well was repeatedly popping up... until I had all signed in - the browser with my new phone number, the app and through samsung... I didn't receive any more notifications.
I told facebook right out my phone and installed the facebook hack they got running around in the s3 thread . Cause I dont like the location stuff. facebook hack removed all that. But that stop the notification from coming in .

For some reason whenever I get chats from Facebook, the floating chat won't pop up. I get the notification from the messenger app and when I press it nothing happens. Just wondering if there is a way to fix this or??

Hello!
I need help to fix WhatsApp & gmail. I don't get notifications until when I open the app.
Viber & GoSMS Pro work fine (I think).
I disinstalled & reinstalled already 10 times, both WhatsApp and gmail.
I disinstalled also greenify and clean master.
Nothing! Still not getting notifications!
WhatsApp tech support are real morons, they refuse to help because my device is rooted!
Anyway, I did EVERYTHING listed in the WhatsApp debug faq including installing PNF.
When I open PNF, and I open play services monitor, if I click connect all delayed notifications are notified.
I do NOT have gtalk installed.
