im using my own set of earphones with the x10. now with my earphones plugged in and i make a call, the other person cant hear me. when i unplug the earphones, then he/she can hear me. this doesnt happen with my previous nokia phones. is there a way around this? my phone is a rogers x10 if it helps.

I posted this problem in the earphones thread in the assesories section and got no reply.
Either they don't use their phones to call or they don't own the phone yet.
I solved this by getting a stereo bluetooth headset. for me, its the SE MW600.
i think when i plug in my earphones, the phone thinks that im using the supplied headset that has a built in microphone. i dont plan on buying the mw600 anytime soon :-(

This happens for me too, didn't happen with my W995...
It's not a huge problem though, for me at least. I mean, you have to take the phone out of your pocket anyway to answer, and then it's not a big deal to yank out the earbuds as well for that conversation.
why don't use the original adapter for the earphones?

Ya. The phone is designed to assume that when you have headphone plugged in that they include a mic. If they don't, you should be connecting the mic adapter and then plug your headphones into that. Otherwise, ya, you won't be able to talk.
That's why they made the mic adapter with a standard 3.5mm jack, rather than building it into the included earbuds.

I use my shure headphones which I find the best for music/calls/media. I use it on almost all my devices (ipod, laptop). Most of the time when I take a call at home ill be lying on my bed using the headphones. Wish there is a way around this
edit: just read saltorios reply. ill try using the adapter, but wished it would just work outside the box just like any other phone
SE MW600
How do these headphones perform all that have them? Are they worth $100, and if anyone received a better deal than that could you please direct me to where you ordered yours from.
I already know that some Canadians received it when they ordered through Rogers. So if thats how you obtained your set no need to direct me there, because I am in Chicago, IL and thats too far a drive for me.
is anyone using an iphone style docking station for banging out tunes on their hd2's. im not even sure if anythings on the market for this, if not, there should be......
im using this one: http://www.swissmania.ch/A739140/Daten-_und_Dual-Ladestation_zu_HTC_HD2.html

sorry mate, i probably didnt explain what im after. something like this is what i'd like.....
http://www.iworld.co.uk/p/Sony_SRS-GU10IPCEK_Docking_Speaker_for_iPods_and_iPhones.htm
i'v altered the title to make people aware of what im after.....
oooh, ok >.< never saw something like that for our hd2.. but would be cool xD
Unfortunately, I've never seen an actual molded docking speaker for the HD2. They do sell some generic speakers that will hold the device like this one:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Philips-SBA16...leAudio_MP3PlayerSpeakers&hash=item2c53157749
...or this one:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Station-Dock-...tableAudio_MP3PlayerDocks&hash=item5191076d3e
They are really made for iPhones, but they have a jack and a space that would likely work with the HD2.
If anyone knows of another solution, please post as I'm sure many, like myself, would be interested.
they mostly have ipod/iphone connection thingie.. and no jack >.>
im using normal soundboxes with an aux input via the jack on my hd2^.^ maybe it just lies on the table then, but that doesnt matter for me
I really enjoy those stock earphones that came with my Play, good quality, durable and song pausing/skipping. But just recently mine broke so I snagged my sisters earphones (Xperia Neo's) which she never used, Didnt fit her ears. SADLY I lost those and have been missing them for one week :silly:
To me it has always been quite opposite, regular earmuffs dont fit at all and I have to correct them all the time while my Xplays muffs were perfect.
I have been searching but couldnt find any store that sells them, is there any way to re-purchase these earphones ?
I have seen few somewhat similar models but I want this specific model if its possible.
If there is no way to obtain those, then what specs should I look for incase Im going to buy ones that resemble my old earphones ?
Some Repair shop. Or mobile shop/service where they do sell the headphones
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
Or eBay amazon etc
You might get Skullcandy Earphones somewhere going at a good price. They sound just about the same and have those nice rounded ear pieces.
But you can find the stock ones in your carriers outlet or in a mobile phone accessories shop
Powered by CyanogenMod™9!
Sony mobiles website has an accessories page with compatible headphones and better headphones for the xplay

Or just visit some "retail" shop of Sony or Sony certificated repair service.

Well sony mobile doesnt seem to have any stores here where I live and the place where I bought Xplay doesnt sell it anymore !
I found model named "Sony MH410c" but it apears to have those "bad" ear pieces. "MH750" looks similar but how does it compare ?
Seeing how its featured with newer Xperia phone models new question rises. I remember reading that Sony was going to change their 3.5mm standard (I heard there is 2 different "mainstream" standards), is this model "new" and would it work on xperia play (properly) ? I had some "touch problems" with these earphone + laptop compatibility, I always had to use my nail to raise the jack just slightly, this helped with balance and sound playing properly.
"MH650" look identical to those stock earphones, can someone confirm that they are ?
Im still having a hard time to find any retailer selling them :silly: uhh and Sony must be really retarded... I downloaded PDF file (documents) choosing my nation and language (finland), in return, I get a PDF written in swedish derp
Though file has "FI" in its name while swedish document has "SVE" even though they are identical.
So if there is any similar but relativly new options that are compatible with Xplay, then bring em up. I check some of already mentioned options.
What country are you from? You can have an shop like Best Buy but its eshop.

The MH650 are the stock earphones i got with my play.
You should get some Sennheiser earphones. I've got the CX400-II much better than stock.

If they arent atleast as long as stock ones and/or dont provide song pausing/skipping then Im not too interested I already have BIG sennheiser boomers and smaller ones (but they broke) and Sony's medium sized earphones. Xplays stock earplugs were perfect for me and fit in my pocket.
But case closed, I found nice retailer selling MH650's, I came here to drop sum tanks :silly:
Yours came with headphones?? Mine came with an adapter. That's it.

I hear rumors the U.S. versions of the phone will not have as many features as the "international" version? Like no 4K video etc. Can anyone confirm this?

4k video is exclusive to the snapdragon 800 which all the US versions will have. Other then that I haven't heard of any missing features.

Wouldn't surprise me... We were missing a few on the Note 2. Blocking mode and the ability to sync with a Samsung Account come to mind off the top of my head...

Is this confirmed??!! I can't see how this could be! It's one of the huge draws for the N3! If this is true that may be the straw that breaks the camels back for me! I will pay my $35 restocking, cancel my line and promptly go to the closest T-Mobile and get my N3 there!

Well surf and talk on 3g ( like my s3 can do but not the s4 ) and
My biggest annoyance : no blue tooth and aux simultaneous , so if you are using an aux for music, phone calls wont get rerouted automatically to bluetooth ,something HTC phones can do , because verizon seem to always cripple that electivelyon samsung phones , mean while AT&t and t-mobile keep it enabled .
I use my cars aux and i have to unplug my phone every time i get a phone call to make it go to bluetooth headset, unless i am on aosp , then they both work on my s3

on my S4 i have the iBolt Dock and run the iBolt app when its in the dock. i use the micro-USB cable from the phone that has the USB and 3.5mm headphone jack on the other end. i plug the 3.5mm into the AUX in for better sounding Spotify and Pandora however when i get a call i hit answer and the call is over BT to my truck.
so if i understand your concern correctly then on the S4 you get AUX out and BT phone at the same time and i would assume the Note 3 would be the same.
if i misunderstood what you were saying sorry just thought i would mention my experience.
really bad interference

I tried every dock known to man with my s3 and i have a horrendous experience with pandora and interference in 3 different cars. The best i can do it aux and bluetooth set with minimal interference that way. but music through usb on my s3 was a massive fail, i hope note 3 will not have it also .

on S4 i can use BT or AUX with cable with no issues so maybe that a good sign since S4 would be more like Note 3 that S3 would. i use it daily and only choose AUX cause it just seems better to be hard wired that BT. either way both work great for me on S4.

Rosetta Stone?
I find it ironic that people root and ROM a phone to get rid of carrier bloat yet here we are in a thread bemoaning the loss of bloat.

the whole idea is for them to function seamlessly simultaneously. Aux for music and phone calls route automatically to bluetooth, while aux is plugged in . SOmething every htc phone and non verizon samsung comes with.

I am sorry , i dont really speak high .
but from what i could decipher : Scott is not really a bootloader dev , nor does he mess with recoveries . His roms are amazing , clean and reliable. But if Scott sees a non rooted , locked bootloader , he wont touch that phone.
I understand root is very different that locked bootloader, and he did make roms for the rezound with a locked bootloader, before they figured out s-off.
I am not sure , however, how all that ties with bluetooth and aux simultaneously as well as surf and talk on 3g that happens on my s3 , and what that has to do with Scot !
but cheers mate, pass on whatever it is your enjoying

Carrier bloat is way different than samsung bloat. Verizon bloat is the worst, at least samsung's feature set is good.
I would hold off for a dev edition if you want to mod this device...word is Beans is getting one. After what happened with the S4, I doubt anybody will put the effort into trying to unlock a qualcom device. Best hope is for something like a kexec or safetstrap workaround.

Not much...been away from android, have not had alot of time to mod. Also I have lost some interest since all of the locked bootloader crap has started. development is not what it use to be imo. I am still thinking about getting a N3, especially if a dev version is released.
Im wondering if anyone has used these earphones with our device and can confirm all the controls work? I assume they would work but Bose couldnt help me and thats a $200 experiment

I don't see why not. Although, there are models that aren't made specifically for the galaxy line, which would be on the safer side.
