So after rooting my device I decided I didnt like it, I backed it up and then went to settings and reset the device back to stock. I then restored it. For some reason the device still shows custom in stats and thus I cant check for updates. Any help is apreciated.

It's achievable... Take a look in the original android development forum and there are kernels in there that allow u to OC...
I've got my s4 running up to 2.3ghz and it's reliable on mine but yours might be so stable..

I'm using ktoonsez kernel... Comes with its own tweak program which is easy to use... It's on the original android development thread as kt-sgs4 kernel.

I'm in UK too using simply free UK model s4 and it works fine... Have a read of his thread and u will see that it's working Ok and have a try of it...

I tried flashing that kernel and strange things started happening. The device started looping st the initial logo on boot. So I had to flash my rom again.
Any ideas?

Hi .please give me an explanation. I have got s4 with xxuamk firmware. But my country got the xxuema firmware already 20 days ago. I cant update my firmware to xxema through OTA. IN kies, it also says that your phone is up to date! I am gone mad. Please help me. Won't my s4 ever do an update through OTA?

maybe you dont have (TUR) csc, connect to kies and see your product code as i told you

no, just download TUR, latest MEA and flash it with odin, and you will be good to receive any future update
also you can flash any other newest firmware for other country (India firmware is so fast in OTA)

I brought a samsung galaxy s4 i9500 ..i brought it from U.A.E..now i came to india then flashed a stock indian firmware now that updates are not working..when i try to update throught mobile inbuilt ota service it says "Failed to update software server error please try to update from kies..What wrong did i do..I really need help guys

I would Odin back to original stock firmware and upgrade through kies. It won't work if you're rooted. Good luck!!
