I got my 32gb model, and instantly rooted and got TWRP on it, wiped it, and flashed the loki'd cyanogenmod. However, the internal storage is still telling me I have just under 24gb of space. Is this normal, and is there a solution to it?
Thank you all for any help and answers you have!!! (I swear, I searched the forums and google'd but could not find an answer!)
Nothing you can really do its the way the partitions are set up

Well...ive said it multiple times in multiple threads...
Debloating does NOT provide more space, our phones bloat are located in the system partition which is unuseable to us. Regardles of whether that partition is filled or empty its size remains the same and unusable... we have to wait for a dev to redo our partition layout which may or may never happen...and im leaning towarss never...at least jot universally as that limits the amount of things that can be included in a rom...especially the tw based roms

Pretty much. I wish we would have had at least 11GB free of space instead of 9GB, oh well.

Thank you so very much for that clear and concise answer!! I truly do appreciate it. I now at least understand what is happening and why.
Next question-- is it not possible to repartition ourselves?? If the bootloader were to get unlocked sometime soon, surely that would allow us complete control, including partitioning and formatting drives, or no?
Anyway, thank you very much for the help. (And thank you other posters as well, much appreciated it!)

I'm thinking now there is nothing here that wouldn't work on ANY version of TF101, including SBK-V2 models.
Thoughts anyone? Anyone brave enough to try?
I will try this now on a B60. Tks for the tips
EDIT: Done it. Worked perfect!
it might be a stupid question, but how do i flash an image?
Edit: i thought that i would download an img file, but now everything works great, thanks

At this point, the only thing that seperates a B60 and below vs b70 and above is the ablility to nvflash. B60 and above can nvflash because of having sbk 1. Good info though.

Yep I was initially being over cautious, I didn't want to be responsible for problems on sbkv2 systems as I had no way to test.
Have updated the first post to indicate its suitable far all TF101, now it's been tested on a B8O

I'm able to get the ICS upgrade to install, however when it reboots I get the Asus logo and a circular progress bar that never stops.
Hi.
I have a asus tf101 b70-s/n and it won't allow me to access the microsd from the recovery screen in cwm. It says unable to mount sdcard and won't format it either. I have tried other cards and same error. I have used sdcard formating program and I have tried commands in terminal. My version of the tablet reads an interior sdcard, which is not recognized in cwm. So this is obviously a huge problem if I'm to perform the factory condition flash.
I've been trying for days, different methods. Any help in the right direction would be nice. Thanks.

Hi guys. I do not even know if this is doable.
I have no problems with my EFS folder, i have backed it up in a safe place
But i see alot of people here with efs problems so i am throwing this for the technically knowledgeable.
Is there a way to make a general EFS folder with no personal and device specific data. What i mean is to have an EFS folder for every user to download and that user to download it and to edit it by injecting his broken device IMEI and other potentially required data such as the Serial Number and others.
P.S: this is just an idea. If this is in the wrong place and/or brakes any rules (which i doubt), then Mods please excuse me and delete the thread.
I just hope that people who did not backup their EFS folder find a solution by this great community.
Cheers guys!

Just back up the efs folder to ext sd card and restore when needed. Viola job done. Better still keep the backup off the phone altogether so it's not corrupted or wiped inadvertently while flashing new and exotic Roms

I like this thread and hope mods don't close this. I agree that this knowledge can be used for both positive and negative purposes, however it doesn't mean that we should not understand how it works.
You can own a gun to protect yourself or to kill someone. Government doesn't stop you from having one. Torrents can be used to share legitimate files and piracy both, doesn't mean it's illegal.
I strongly believe that we should get some advice on this item from knowledgeable devs here.

If it makes you feel any better, you can't move apps to SD any more either on an unrooted S3 running jellybean.
Yes you can move apps to SD, and you don't even need to flash a custom kernel. Details here:

Yes, Directory Bind is awesome I use it myself, but it doesn't move apps to sd card. It allows you to move a directory to the sd card and mount it so that the phone thinks it exists in the internal memory. The .apk still exists in the internal memory.

Has anyone OTA'd to MF9, rooted and then wanted to reset flash counter and unroot? If so, has anyone tried to do so and found that they are having major issues doing so? Let me know what the problems are and if there is Want/Need for a tutorial. I also want to know if anyone e has had any issues doing so just in case problems are isolated to just me or not. I have successfully done this many times myself to ensure safety and all 5 times have been the exact same way and haven't been able to do it any other way. Well, the reason being in Dev. is due to this where it needs to be if/when posted and Q/A is not where someone is going to look for this type of tutorial. It is a very fragile process the way I have to go about it and do not want to have issues ALL over to be honest.

You have your reason and XDA has our reasons. Development is for development and Q and A is for questions. Simple as that. That won't change. And we are not going to follow your reasoning. The point being follow XDA rules and not your own here please. I had already moved this to Q and A by the time you posted your above response BTW...
That's fine. No need to be rude, just move it and done. I was giving my reasons as to why I posted it, not trying to justify. Keep it calm and friendly here, plain and simple.

Sometimes when you flash ROMs the tablet gets confused as to how much memory is available I've heard of it plenty times when going back to stock usually a factory reset or if that doesn't work reflashing the ROM. You need to get the tablet to reevaluate how much storage it has. It currently thinks it a 16gb version.

Considering that this person only asked about how to free up space on his Nexus, I doubt that would have happened. Of course I would have offered direction to the proper forum if it was something critical. I didn't find it surprising at all that after a few members jumped in to help, your post had be the one letting him know that he shouldn't be in this thread, nevermind any advice on his issue. But it seems that every time I run into one of your posts, it is almost never helpful yet very terse and usually rude. Most of your answers are either about the member being in the wrong sub forum or that they didn't read the changelog. It's almost like spam being posted over and over.

If we were to wait to inform the op that he was in the wrong forum until after he had done something like that, it would have been irresponsible of us to not head him off at the pass and try to prevent such a thing.
