Hello, I just bought a new 5200mAh extended battery for my galaxy s4 and was wondering how can I properly calibrate the battery for better battery performance. Any tips will be helpful. Thanks
Just charge it to full and then use it to about 5% to 10% (or less) before charging it to full again. Due that for the first 3 or 4 cycles and you will be good. All of the battery calibration apps out there are BS.

my xda 2 mini shuts of on its own... please help
Is the battery very old or not fully charged? On old batteries, Magician can't correctly gauge how much life is left in the battery, and will shut itself off if it thinks the battery life is low, without any 'low battery warning' beforehand.
My battery is old and I know the Magician will shut itself off while the indicator still shows there's ~ 40% off left ... I could get a new battery, but then again I can just keep it charged above 50%+ all the times and it works fine. That's still quite a lot of battery life ... easily lasts me 2 days for normal use.
Now, I did run across an older battery that will keep powering down the PDA even when it says it's fully charged ... if that's what's happening to you, time to get a new battery. They're very cheap these days anyways.

I agree with number16. Btw, it would be best to use a more appropriate tilte than just help. Secondly, don't forget to do a search first before posting. There are already quite a number of threads discussing exactly your problem.
I have an AT&T G2. The battery is good, at most time. It can support one day heavy use and I'm quite satisfied.
But sometimes the battery drops quickly when screen is off with no reason. The drop rate is about 6% per hour (normally it only consumes 3% per night, about 0.5% per hour). This had happened about 10 times during 1 month since I bought it. Sometimes during the night, sometimes during the daytime that I'm not using it.
It can be cured after a reboot, but it is quite annoying when u want to use the phone and find the battery level is far below the expectation.
I install the betterBatteryStats, but all the wakelocks seems normal. And I'm sure didn't install/open any online streaming apps that run in the background. It just look like some process is stuck there and keep draining battery, but I can't find any clues which one it is.
Please help...

I had this as well on the stock rom & kernel, i now use a custom kernel which greatly enhances the battery life.
Although the battery life was good, the wake locks @ night where killing it using 60% in 5 hours.
I find my S3 mini i8190 have a battery life of only one day of average usage. It would be great if it lasted longer without swapping spare batteries, though it does indeed last a little longer of heavy use on its mpj 2500mAh battery. I carry a spare with me throughout a day. A great phone runs forever, that's all people have come to expect for now.
And the point of this thread is...?

Hey,
I'm thinking of switching from the EVO LTE to a "broken S3" that my step-dad gave me.
Before I switch, I wanted some battery benchmarks from you guys.
So far, the battery is 82% after 14 hours of idle.
What kind of battery life do you expect?
