I have a Jig I purchased to get my Captivate S1 to Download Mode. Do these jigs also work to place S4 into Download Mode?

Just felt it worthwhile to cross post this here. I am not the discoverer of this method, just an attentive reader of forums.

This guide is for the situation where your phone is not booting and the three-button combo for getting into download mode is not working for some reason, and you have tried all the other solutions in the FAQ.
If the phone's bootloader is still intact, that is you see at least the white logo on the screen, you should be able to force it into download mode by connecting a homemade jig that simulates the Samsung "Anyway" field test jig. You can make this jig using a micro USB plug and a resistor.

my galaxy's start in download mode, connect the USB cable to PC and start normal.
What can I do
Use odin to re-flash it and make it start over, if you can get download mode you should have no problem...

hey guys i messed up my partitions mmcblk and my phone is hardbricked and doesnt react to buttons and is black only the pc shows quallcomm hs-usb.
my question is will the usb jig work and bring my phone into download mode or is download mode broken too ??
Hey guys, when I get into the download mode and start odin, my phone doesn't show there. I did install samsung usb drivers. It only shows COM when the phone is on, not in the download mode.
Any ideas what might be the reason for this? Thanks a lot.
