This may be posted elsewhere...if so, sorry. I replaced the 2 qmg files in /system/media with the attached files. The attached files are the stock i9000 boot animations. I got them from a captivate thread.
So far they seem to work fine, but you should make a backup just in case.

Guess you have to be rooted, right?
rooted here, not working
What is the best way to copy files over? Could you give more of a noob tutorial on how to do this lol
works great! no more stupid pink crap! I a sooo excited!
The way I did it is as follows. I used root manager to copy the original qmg files to a safe place. I then mounted the phone to my computer copied the new qmgs to the sd card unmounted and used root manager again to put them in the correct place (system/media).
make sure that you extract the two files from the zip. other than that, I did it just like the above posts.
Works perfectly Thanks!!! Any idea where the sound file is? I'd like to replace that with something less "happy"

this is covered in the sticky and here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731059
For some reason I am not able to copy the files with root explorer. Do I need to move the files with terminal? I've copied/move them over..but they do not appear. I have root access btw.
Working on a rooted Vibrant here. Ended up using Root Explorer to get it to work.
Now, is there a way to get rid of the pink shutdown animation?

Go into /system/media and remove bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg ... or replace them with the i9000 files from the ZIP in the post that started this thread.
Thank you!
I copied the files over with root explorer, and everything works fine, except for when the new animation plays, it's very choppy/pixelated. Anyone else?
Hello xda-developers ! What i have here are multiple zip files to be installed in CWM .
What are they?
They are zip files which allow one to change the default time it takes for the bottom button leds to timeout .
How do i install them?
Simple Follow instructions below
For those crazy folks who always want the keys lit up when the screen is on click me and follow install instructions
Install instructions:
1. Download the attached zip file.
2. Open or extract the newly downloaded zip file.
3. Select whichever time delay you want.
4. Copy to the ROOT of your sdcard.
5. Boot into recovery mode.
6. Choose "Install zip from sdcard".
7. Select "Choose zip file".
8. Select the time delay file you copied earlier.
9. Reboot and enjoy.
Now i created a bunch of them from the same file and didnt test every single file . If it doesnt work attach the zip file you used in recover stating your issues and i will get back to you
Thanks!

This is great, just what I was looking for.
Just one question; is there a way to modify one of your files to increase the delay, or even so that the lights are on as long as the screen is on?

Sort of. It all depends on which kernel you are running. The only way to keep the lights off is by changing the permissions of the brightness file but some kernel's override permissions.

If it has android on it, and it has bottom lights, and it runs NAND not EMMC, then i would say give it a shot. its not going to break anything if it doesnt work. the only thing im concerned about would be the updater-script. but if its NOT EMMC then it should be fine.

Do you have a ROM.zip file lying around?
If so, open it, and browse to META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script and post the updater-script file

Unfortunately it doesn't work on this HD2 ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1605992 where the lights always keeps on as long as the screen is active..
I was wondering, is it possible to have it on Kindle running CM10.1 ?
The only time i've seen it on Kindle was while i was running CM7 as alt-rom. Can it be ported to CM10.1 ?
For those who dont know what i'm talking about, check out the video
Yeah, i saw that, but i cant find 'values' folder in framework-res.apk :S
I was using old version of apktools, that was the problem... Thanks btw
no luck... i cant get pass the boot animation...
something is fishy with file size as well, because after i compile it, it has ~4mb less than the original file

I decompiled it, changed the value, compiled it and pushed it over adb. Also set 644 permission on the file. So, what didnt i do properly ?
Jessica said:

Once you recompile it, you open the new one and the old one with 7-zip. Then you drag the resources, classes.dex, and res folder from the new one into the original one. Then the original one will have the new changes, but won't give you a boot loop. Also, make sure the permissions are rw,r,r. You can use adb or terminal emulator for that too, using chmod 644.

Hey anyone know of an awesome looking jarvis boot animation, ive got my phne set up like jarvis and this is the last step im issing the one i saw for the s4 wasnt as nice as i hoped. there is a nice one for S3 but does anyoine know of one i missed anuwhere
Why don't you try and make one yourself. They're not that hard, especially if you can find the animation you like. Just download a bootanimation.zip, extract it and see what's inside. It'll be pretty self explanatory what you need to do. If you have questions I can help you.
Edit, if you have a link to the s3 one you like let me know. I'll download and let you know what you need to get it to work on the s4.

Double click on the part00, part01, and part02 just to see what's inside them. The only file you need to change is the desc file, double click on that too. the 720, 1280 is the display resolution of the s3, the s4 is 1080, 1920

Do you have a file manger like root explorer ot anything? You'll need to change the permissions to rw-r-r of the zip file you put in /system/media
Just put the *.ogg file in, not sure the sound will work or not on the s4
Edit, also make sure the file you copied to /system/media is re-named bootanimation.zip

you can use this test zip I made to flash the bootanimation(unzip it, place the bootanimation inside system/media/ and then rezip)
you can use bootanimation factory to add the loops to the bootanimation, the rest is up to you

Thanks a lot, any idea how to wrote the .txt file? Like what I'd need I understand the part 0,1,etc. And the resolution I just don't know what else or exactly how to write. Or would it be easier to use the factory?
