ES Explorer & WanamLite MF3 V1.4 (I9500) - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, I have an issue with the latest version of Wanam Lite MF3 v1.4
I use ES File Explorer and it used to work fine on Wanam Lite v 1.2 but today when I upgraded to v1.4 ES Explorer stopped working. Not completely but none of the root functions work.
When I open Root Manager, I get a message ES File Explorer has been granted SuperUser Permissions then after a few seconds i get another message " Sorry test failed. This feature cannot run on your phone''
I have done a complete Wipe (Cache / Dalvik) & Factory Reset via recovery before flashing v1.4, I have tried uninstalling & reinstalling ES Explorer but it doesn't work
ES File Explorer Version 3.0.4
I am not sure how i can fix this, I need root access so i can increase the volume of my S4.

I did, I tried Root Explorer & that worked fine.. so i think it is just the ES file Explorer issue.

[Q] Rooted, Taboonay, but ES File Explorer root option fails

Have an A500, rooted, CWD, Taboonay 2.0. Trying to use ES File Explorer to edit the build.prop. But when I try to enable the experimental setting in ES File Explorer to give it root access, it says that the experiment failed and that this option is not available with my phone.
Any thoughts? SuperUser says it has given ES File Explorer root access.
I had the same problem, both with Taboonay 2.0 and again today when I reverted back to stock. Updating ES File Explorer through Market fixed the issue for me. May want to try it yourself.
That fixed the issue for me, thanks! I should have thought of that myself
I also say thank you. Doubly so because I was sure I had updated, but it turns out I had not

Permission problems

Hi, my rooted Kindle recently un-rooted after I did a factory reset to fix an issue with the sound. I have re-rooted using both KFFA and B4 Binary methods but now don't seem able to use Es Explorer to move Go Ex into my system/app folder.
Live Wallpaper and Widget picker both managed to move, however it fails if I try to change permissions on anything. I have used Root Checker to make sure I am definitely rooted so don't know what the problem is. The launcher from the KFFA kit works although has major issues freezing and loosing the side bar with the home and back buttons on.
I have downloaded from both play store and on-line into my downloads folder but when I attempt to move, I get permission denied. I can't change permissions in the download folder and Es is set up in root mode, SU is allowing access and the SD is mounted. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
Follow Up - Root Explorer

dam0fitz,
Can you afford Root Explorer? I think it is $4.99 and is worth every penny. I have had issues with ES file Explorer too, so I can not directly answer your question without looking at your device.
Check out Root Explorer here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.speedsoftware.rootexplorer&hl=en
Root Explorer immediately activates Root at first launch, just FYI. Nothing to configure like ES File Explorer.

[Q] Update downloaded to phone - Where is it stored?

So my phone downloaded the update and keeps trying to get me to install the update. Where is the update stored on the phone? I want to delete it.
I am still running a older version of SACS ROM and don't want to install it and want to get rid of all the prompts to install it.

I followed the directions in the post:
Navigate to:
/system/app: change fwupgrade.apk to fwupgrade.old and keychain.pak to keychain.old
/system/etc/security: change otacerts.zip to otacerts.old
Now reboot to recovery mode and wipe cache. Reboot system to GUI. If update appears, accept install. Countdown will appear but nothing will be installed.
The update notification will no longer appear.
1st - I don't have a fwupgrade.apk in /system/app (I even did a search for it and couldn't find it anywhere)
2nd - When I try to rename or delete the otacers.zip (in the /system/etc/security) it won't let me. It just says it can't be renamed or can't be deleted.
I am using ES File Explorer.

You must mount the directory as 'read/write' to modify.
Not sure where that option is in ES but if you have root it's there I think.
You may not have the fwupgrade.apk OR you may just not be able to see it with that Explorer if you don't have the option checked to see system/root apps.
I use Root Explorer worth every penny for me.
BUT you can use ROM Toolbox - the Lite version(free) does have a root explorer that will let you mount as R/W.

How To Replace the ContextService.apk? For My Specific Model?

So I rooted by Galaxy S5 SM-G900V running 4.4.4. (please be specific, Im new to this). My device is ALREADY rooted and 100% confirmed, as I used root checker.
And now everytime I open gallery or do certain things, It tells me "Unfortunately, Context Service has stopped working."
I read on a thread you can Rename or replace the ContextService.apk file located under /system/priv-app to fix it, So where do I get a non corrupt copy? And how do I access the /system/priv-app area? Connect to a pc?
Also, wouldnt replacing with a non corrupt version be more important that renaming it and no longer working? Do we not need it?
update
So I downloaded Root Explorer app to find that "/system/priv-app area" and nothing. I can not find any "system" file or Priv-app area.
Thanks
You need to root your device. For file explorer try ES File Explorer for root browsing.
already rooted

System Permissions

Ok, I am rooted on a stock rom. I cannot get access to edit anything in the system/app folders. Of course, cannot get Adaway to work properly because of this. Other root apps work just fine. Ideas/
Thanks

What file manager are you using? I am having trouble with se file explorer to complete root actions, however total commander works fine if you mount the system folder as RW
Hmm root works just fine for me with ad away. i even used es file explorer to get to system part and add stuff to the ringtones directory so i dont have to have them show up in my media players. I am using the 2.52 beta root.
