Why get the title? Don't you want to set it?
Edit: If I understand correctly, you want this: http://developer.android.com/reference/android/app/ActionBar.html#getTitle().

Could be, I thought that too... It's probably a security feature.

use htc home customizer...but anyway you won't be able to change the size but the layout, because the big place is needed for the application tab

Hello nyuszi, I already installed HTC home form Helmi rom. But, I'm not found the cutomizer. Is it separate cabs? Or already on the package?
N where can I found the menu?
search the forum, or google it...if i remember well it's posted somewhere in universal threads...
and what menu?
I have installed the cab file in the addons and my screen looks exactly so, with big clock.

Hi...i found the HTC Home Customizer here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319308&highlight=htc+home+customizer
I hope it helps
To verify this is not an application, just an idea. I was hoping somebody would care to maybe have a go at creating an application like this that opens up a menu which displays programs, settings etc.
The program would scroll using kinetic scrolling and would basicallay be used as a start menu to open shortcuts to start menu applications.
I attach 2 screenshots of possible ideas.
So what you guys think?

You can find something like this in Mobile Shell 2 (TWO), in MY MENU you can add anything you want. Assign My Menu to a soft key and you should be good.
Sure, a standalone software would be better...
Lol. Someone thought of this before you, too bad it was/isn't completed. TouchXperience. [Link]

i really like this idea,
however, i'm sure there's a few apps very similiar too this flying around,
maybe you could create a skin for one of them?
Nice system font, (teh one on the softkeys) what is it? I wish to use it on me phone.
There is something similar...
FingerPoint would work if you could skin it more...maybe even QuickMenu if it could be made large enough to cover the whole screen. There was another old one that I can't remember.

The font in the screen shot is Segoe UI
Closed as per OP request.
Hey all,
I'm sure several of us are running ROMs which offer the vanilla lockscreen like below:

"lightbox_close": "Close",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Above, we can see the icon represents the 'silent' function.
However, I have seen other lockscreens whereby the icon on the right hand side has been changed to someting else, for example: Vibrate Only [which is what I'm after], or launch Music Player, etc.
Anyone know how it's done?
I've been searching for that too, to change the silent button into vibrate but I haven't found anything yet
I hope someone can help us to change that
I think widgetlocker can do that
I'd rather change it without using another app, like changing something in the lockscreen code
I think it has to be changed in the android.policy.jar file since the fix for the lockscreen is coded inthere , but I don't know where and what I would have to change since I don't know much about the android coding

Sorry to disappoint, I found that screen in either one of these threads, both are a 'post your homescreen' type thread:
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=476483
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=665991&page=152
I can't remember which page, sorry. But it will have been in the most recent 15 pages of either thread.
so, i have found from where the screenshot came from.
It's from a member who runs a Froyd Villain rom on his hero and the rom is android 2.2
Now, turns out that in android 2.2 this is default the sliding to vibrate instead of silent (tested it out on the android emulator)
I have downloaded a 2.2 rom version and now I will try to find the differences between the 2.1 an 2.2 lockscreen files and hope I will be able to change it
^ thats pretty good going, nice one! I didn't know it was standard in Android 2.2.
Hi, i had the Xperia Play (800a) for 2 days now, it's rooted and with busybox. Today i was trying to take a picture from the phone desktop with PicMe, but the image was very bad! Like a transparent image with a pink or red color.... I try ShootMe too, but i obtained the same result. The last effort was making it with the PC with the SDK tools (ddms) but the same result shows up.
Bad photo

Anyone with the same problem?
Can anyone help me with that? or just tell me what's the problem?
Thanks!
I can’t believe there is no way to do a screen shot with a stock phone. What the hell is wrong with Sony? It is so easy on the iPhone.
Not used it myself but I see lots of people using MPE to take screen grabs.
I'm rooted so just use a screenshot app from market.
try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12701006&postcount=3 just connect phone in usb debugging to pc open the asm.jar. Worked for me
I just use screenshotit
I've used screenshot with proper results. Still, it's a bit stupid to have to root the phone in order to get a screenshot. The Galaxy S, for example, allows you to do without.
I am not a fan of having to root to screenshot.
Ok, thanks for the answers, i try Screenshot It and it works, but it's not a free app, so i really don't want to pay for taking ss of my phone. Screenshot works well too, and it is free. I'm going to try the asm.jar solution today, later i tell you if this work too.
Thanks

Please explain.
"ScreenshotIt" and "screenshot" are two different apps.
@ Logseman & @ matknny . Use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12701006&postcount=3 no need to root and if the screenshots colors are wierd you can just right click on the screen > adjust color
I have my phone rooted and I can use DDMS, but thanks anyway
Mozza2k11, thanks for this unrooted tip

Thanks for the tip. Much appreciated. Can make a how to if anyone asks me to again.
Hi all,
I was wondering. I would like to see an unlock screen with 6 (or 9/12) small pictures/icons in random postions. The user can make up a small story so he would know in which order he should slide/swipe to the different pictures to unlock the phone. Also a nice feature would be if the usere could pick the pictures which would be displayed on the lockscreen. The position of the displayed pictures/icons should always be random to ensure security.
Is there something like this out there for android??
Regards, RR69
I think it's too easy and fast to solve. Why not a lockscreen with something like this to solve?
