Hi~
I tried to unpack the korean E300S (Korean S4) firmware so i can take/extract the ring & notification tones that are in it (no where to be found not even in the International S4 version) but for some reason it's not unpacking.
I tried the sgs2ext4 method (which just gave me 1st line (some text) and 32 kb/s and from 2nd line on 0kb/s.
I also tried something called "unyaffs" but that didn't work either.
Can someone help me with this? Thanks a lot!

Hi,
I have a long story...and hate to take your t much of anyones time.
I have a NOTE 3, which I purchased about a month ago... I live and play in Mexico, I bought an unlocked NOTE 3 T-Mobile N900T.
I installed kies and one day it came thorugh withan upgrade/update I didn't notice and accepted it, it was 4.4.2.
I had good acceptable transfer rate using 4.3 as it came... afterwards my H+/4G/LTE are from 500K - 3M if that... and my upload is 1M.
I then rooted and tried various roms as well as various Kernels... and can't seem to fix the problem... If there is a ROM or a fix and I could work with someone, I would gladly contribute to get it working.
In Mexico Telcel has the N900W8 I tried flashing the 900W8 ROM into my N900T and it didn't work...
Presently I am using... Vision X- N3 KK 4.4.2 ND5, Kernel: CIVz-snapkat Rev 1.9-N900T
I have tried numerous KErnels and various roms... with no joy...
Please help... some one... I would like to talk over email my email is [email protected] or Whatsapp (Mod edit: Phone # removed)
thanks,
Peter Fraga
Hi guys !
I've just bought a samsung galaxy s4 (i9505) (a used one not new) and i flashed Imperium v7 and modem GNF1 and bootloader GNF1 (initially the phone was on stock 4.2.2 and the problem was already there).
My problem is that i don't get the network i rarely see two or three bars but it directly goes to zero (i can see the no network sign) and stays like that until a reboot (as said it drops to no network very fast).
So my question, is it software ? (should i flash the latest samsung stock firmware ?) or is it hardware ? (replace the internal network ship ?)
Or is it a common problem on S4 i9505 and no solution cannot be found ? :crying:
Could it be related to CSC ?
Anyway, i hope anybody can help me because i really like this phone and the rom that i just installed ..
Feel free to ask me about additional informations.
EDIT : I already tried :
1) the modem+bl FNDA => same result
2) force the phone to gsm only => same result (maybe better but even it solves the problem there is no point to not having 3g activated all the time)

It's going to be pretty difficult to narrow this down with what you've posted. You say the problem was "already there" when you got the phone -- how long did you use it on the stock 4.2.2 rom before flashing a new one? Did you see exactly the same behavior before you started mucking with it?
Hi ! Finally an answer So i used it for about 3 days and i really can tell that it is the same behaviour
My fear is that it may be related to hardware .. I am gonna try to flash the latest samsung stock firmware (with its csc and modem) ?
Anyway any idea ??

In general I'd say it's worth getting the phone to "current" stock, or as close to it as possible, and seeing what kind of situation you're in (i.e. if the behavior disappears or changes in any way). If you're seeing it on every configuration, it seems reasonable to suspect that it could be a hardware issue -- especially given that you got the phone used.
Perhaps someone else knows of a more definitive test you can try.
Hey ! Thanks for the idea ! already flashed the latest samsung firmware and same problem .. i stayed in touch with the guy that sold it to me so he took it back to samsung sav where his friend (who work there) told him that this is a famous bug in the i9505 4g serie and that the only solution is a
nvm restore (something like that). Of course he'll do it for free cause we agreed that if a problem come out he'll have to solve it on his own.
Anyway, i hope to get it back tomorrow or monday ! I'll let you know what happened as soon as i get it back !
solution?
Were you able to solve the problem? in case u were, how? i have the same issue sometimes i have 3g network, then it goes to gprs then edge, sometimes when im connected to wifi i cant receive calls, but i can do calls, any idea?
Hi all there.
A friend of mine brought me from Hongkong a (probably) korean Samsung gt-i9500. (The fastboot screen is korean)
I just installed "Genuine Galaxy - Phone Info" which told me that it should be an original one before I flashed clockworkmod recovery and cm11 over sideload.
However - the cm11 did not get further than the starting logo.
I tried different roms and the only rom that worked (a little bit) was the Beanstalk 4.4.4 rom, which gave me logcat and an adb shell - however as the user interface does not fire up I cannot get root access...
Can anybody tell me how to get the phone working again? Or does anybody know where to get the original firmware? There is no korean firmware on sammobile and as the hardware seems to differ I don't want to flash a wrong firmware with odin. (Now fastboot and cwm is still working...
Here is the logcat: (as I am a new user I have to cripple the url: pastebin.com / Vm4RMFqJ )
Thank you for any hints,
Andreas
Just for the record
Just for the record:
This was not a korean i9500 but a korean shv-e300s.
It was confusing for me because the label behind the battery declared:
Samsung ("mobile phone" in chinese signs)
(probably "model" in chinese signs): GT-I9500
SSN: I9500GSMH
RATED: 3.8V;1300mA
MADE BY SAMSUNG
IMEI:xxx
(barcode)
S/N:xxx
(no FCC label, etc.)
The SHV-E300S model name was only shown above the fastboot screen (korean language)
I flashed with odin a 4.4.2 firmware from sammobile for the SHV-E300S -> working again.
However - this firmware release is an incredible peace of sh*t. Branded with "SK telecom" and fully blown up with korean apps, antivirus, etc. This device should be sold as a hand warmer, not a mobile phone.
Hi, I live in China but am not Chinese and have inherited a 14mth old Note3 SM-N9008 from my wife, who is Chinese. Just wanted to clarify this point as a lot of other posters with an SM-N9008 have been shot down for having one instead of getting a model relative to where they live
OK, with that out of the way, I have no issues with voiding the warranty as it's gone anyway (14 mth old).
My key question is after reading the "how-to-change-csc-in-samsung-galaxy-phones" (sorry cannot include the offsite link being new here) topic, and perhaps my understanding is wrong and so please correct me if I am, if I change the PDA, PHONE and CSC codes to match correctly to another locale NOT China (eg UK), then I am a) basically changing my 9008 to a 9005 in principle & b) my 9008 will accept ROM's for a 9005 and work fine.
Or is this 'trick' of manipulating these codes to give a new locale only for the purpose of if you have a 9005 in Chile which has not uploaded a new Stock ROM but say Spain has, I make my 9005 look like it is now from Spain and will therefore be able to get the new 9005 Stock ROM?
I have only ever rooted and applied another Stock ROM to one other mobile device before, about 2 years or more ago, which was a Chinese model of the Note 10.1 and it's worked perfectly fine in all that time on the Intl Stock ROM - except for updates online which I don't do (I do manual app updates where required) because the updates give me the Chinese version due to the CSC etc not being changed and so thinking I am Chinese.
Has anyone tried this before at all? Changing the PDA, PHONE and CSC codes from one model to anothers so as to have access to other Stock ROM's in your preferred language and without the locale's bloatware, as well as being able to have appz like Intl google play etc (which cannot be included in any 9008 Stock ROM)?
I've looked at detailed specs for both the 9008 and the 9005 models and they seem exactly the same, just the PDA, PHONE and CSC codes make each different.
If anyone has, please can they help tell me the process steps I need to follow (such as do I root 1st and then change the codes, or change the codes 1st and then root?
I do hope someone can give me some positive feedback please. Thanks in anticipation for any help you can offer me.
I've got a Samsung Galaxy s5 G900V, android version 5, security patch level 2016-02-01, build LRX21T.G900VVRU2BPB1, hardware version G900V.05.
Now... I live in Greece. The phone is unblocked, so it actually accepts the local provider's sim card and I can make and receive phone calls BUT it is kinda weird with the SMS as it can only send but fails to reply received ones. Plus, doesn't support Greek as a GUI language.
So, I've been trying to root the damn thing in order to flash a custom rom but.... nope.... fails to root every time.
It would be nice to turn the phone to EUR.
Could one of you gents help out and point to the right direction ?
Thanks
Get root and flash AllianceROM, G900V will not support LTE in Europe
