First, sorry for my bad English.
I got a Huawei W1, fully dumped eMMC of it via qualcomm mode, and get the whole system/user data partition.
Then I tried to get the xap on phone which installed from the app store, but I found that all xap had been MDIL-compiled by store, which means the dll in xap became native. And the MDIL-compiled xap cannot be installed on wp8 phone, it will give an error tell you that you cannot deploy a optimized xap. Even the wp7 apps on store had been compiled too. That's a really bad news.

6/19 Update:
I successfully built a custom rom, with jailbreak, static ip, and map on sdcard setting. But at now, it's still very very difficult to modify FFU rom because it's format is private. Hope more developper such as AnDim/UltraShot could do more research on it and make custom rom possible & easier.
6/23 Update:
I setup a proxy, after doing some modify, the phone now can switch to any brand app store and install apps such as Nokia series.
7/15 Update:
Cracked Where's my water with in-app purchase. You can find it somewhere.
7/24 Update:
So busy recently. After some research, the WP8 SDK can be installed on Win7 now, with all function working like deploy, debug and developer unlock. I'll release this in short future.
The only problem is FFU file format now.

3/09:
After a long time, I finally have time to finish and release my Jailbreak tool 'rkBreakout' v1.0, with Static WIFI IP setting, Map2SD, Do not switch to celluar data if WIFI unavailable setting, Full access MTP, ROOT(in alpha test, limited rights now), without any ROM Flash or Data Loss.
And APP2SD is on the way, partly work now. It's not as simple as you guys think.
Currently rkBreakout only support Chinese version phone and rom.

I did the same today. I unlocked bootloader and flashed Ascend with I belive US ROM to get polish menu because handsets form o2 got only ENG.

I've tried the same thing with your data (skype). I was able to install it, but I had to delete the Interopservices and the peoplehub capabilities.
That would be the app right to install: http://rapidshare.com/files/3702896266/someapp.xap Note: it wont be working well, as we dont have the rights mentioned above.
For the xap provided by djtonka:
You need to delete the WMAppPRHeader.xml and the MDILFileList.xml file. I tried this and this worked for the 2 apps (O2 Hub and O2 Priority Moments), you provided.
To Admins and Moderators: Delete link if illegal...

But he made xap from Install folder as already installed on the phone. My o2 xaps cames with ROM already.

the xap's you posted are useless without the lic.xml and rgu info.

@megasounds:Advanced Config is not only WP7-specific, it requires certain drivers that were only present in some WP7 phone (HTC, LG, and Samsung, but definitely not Huawei). While it might be possible to bring a compatible driver to a WP8 custom ROM, the driver would need to be re-implemented for the NT kernel (CE and NT kernels are not binary compatible).

I got Ascend W1 myself, but this is the EVDO Rev.B CDMA - GSM version with Qualcomm MSM8630 chipset (not the 8227 like the GSM only version)
Do you think it will possible to use the same trick to jailbreak this phone?
Btw, what i interested is actually not cracking the XAP, but rather making the XAP that supposed only available for Nokia to work on our phone (W1) --> there's some free app that unfortunately only available for Nokia devices

I believe it isn't really custom rom since it couldn't be edited that easily (hash tables etc), probably just edited reg hives.
It isn't really reasonable to create tools just for one device - other devices don't have such bootloaders available (better to say, flashable). I don't see flashing coming any time soon.

Yes, I only made some change on hive file in ffu. In theory I can make some modify on other files, but is't very difficult, I'm waiting your ffu packager tool :laugh:. Since ffu is common format for wp8 devices, other device can also get benefit from it when they got cracked, so the ffu packager tool is reasonable to be created

The CDMA version of W1 is similar.
And Nokia apps need system drivers to run, and so it needs some more work to make them work.

Actually the rom in picture is US version, because the region of app store in Chinese rom has been forcely locked into China. US version is freedom, so I like to use it .

via wp7 cab sender - sure no harm. Via Zune it isn't guaranteed (at least make sure you have the latest Hard-SPL!)

The feeling is that what a magical fun and different ROM version. Especially
"search key mapping settings"
"Quick Launch menu"
and "Windows Mobile Device Center support"
Opinion by adding a new element for WP rom.
By the way , you can try update via Zune until the next version to test DFT HSPL#3 new feature.

Zune doesn't install anything automatically, it will ask whether you want to install update or not.
As for updating (in general):
The latest version of Hard-SPL (make sure you download the latest!) will force Zune not to update SPL, so virtually there won't be any harm even when updating via Zune. But I still don't recommend that because htc may create a new approach against custom roms.
The best way would be to backup all your data (!), download MS update cabs from Heathcliff74's thread and send them via WP7 Cab Update Sender.

thanks mate!btw, i already downloaded the R#3 tool for RSPL/HSPL. however, im currently confused which rom to use for the downgrading of bootloader,since ansar has 2 roms for asian mozarts:

the VERY best on wp7 is the booth seperate parts- the bootloader and the ROM file. So if you build a failure ROM, the not boot- no prob, you can put the device again in downloadmode and flash it again This make the wp7 device "relativ flash secure
I give you the first shoot- for more, sorry, I don´t have free time
needed tools:
Windows Phone SDK 7.1
OSBuilderSetup1.3.199-FULL_ROM_kitchen.zip tnx 1000x to BARIN for this perfect, might tool
mi7ROM omnia7 is not protected (you can dump it)
important: set in windows system hidden and system files as visuable! (in folder Options)
1. unzip the ROM file
2. Rename the OS.D000FF to OS.nb
3. start OSBuilder
4. switch in right corner to DUMP mode

7. after few minutes the dump prozess is done
8. you find a new folder DUMP the contain the files and OEM folder
9. press OSBuilder.osb to open the ROM files with OSBuilder
10. set in OSBuilder settings "configurations and packages" Packages
disable "enable ROM language selection"
11. set in OSBuilder settings "Build Dump and Rom " ROM files and types"
set "enable use template DIRECT MAPPED" and rename to OS.D000FF
12. set copy ROM file to folder " in the same folder (Data) with DFT_WPI_SAM1.exe"
START now with little changes
Now customize files from OEM folder e.g. the preinstalled xap´s in CUSTOM_APPS
add or delete the apps. and edit the 505FB1E7-32C2-4dfe-A939-42283F3FA4C0.rgu
like this shema:
"\\Windows\\your.xap"=""
the latest line must be empty (after your latst entry, 1x enter)
or change in paint the mologo.bmp from csc package
After the changes press "refresh" and "start" in OSBuilder
= you find YOUR FIRST WP7 ROM (look to have DFT_WPI_SAM1.exe, rapitool.exe and OS.D000FF in same folder) if you allready have MAGDLR installed, start DFT_WPI_SAM1.exe and flash.
INFO: after flash first start: it will display image linking phone and PC. wait ca. 30 seconds it will reboot. then wait for ca.60 seconds on samsung logo- it will start

let 0409 and 0809 in and yours (0407)- the other you can remove .......
+ remove the not needed dictionarys from SYS/IME

But I'm italian, I have to leave packages about 0409 0410 and 0809, why 0809 ??

0409 you need ever. 0809 not really, but all my last ROM are configured to 0809 as start language- it causes with problems on tango rom with 0409. The changes to delete 0809 are to deep in system. You need 0809, otherwise ROM will not boot. deleting language files give not much free Storage- delete from sys/ime the dictionarys, you will get 30- 50 mb free storage

Can i extract a os.nb file from my current running rom in my phone? ( Purpose: i want to extract the XAP files of the currently installed application from marketplace)
Can i set the Language and Region setting to INDIA by default ? Also the time settings ? Where to change the same in the application?
What are the new features in the latest build of OS Builder ? How to use the same?

hi, no reason to update this thread. for beginn learn to cooking- you can use the "old" osbuilder version. the latest is near the same, but with few new "profi" features. but for you and other beginner are those features not important ...
...normally you can dump your devices ROM, but you can´t dump the isolated storage with the installed xap´s, sorry= if you dump the ROM you get a dump of oem, sys and xip, but no isolate storage. isolate storage is a "virtual" section.
...yes you can set INDIA by default, but not in osbuilder, settings language. the works not correctly. but to explain you how is to complex for you if you beginn to cook. If you make a failure- your ROM will not boot. ..AND come on- not important if english or india default on start after first boot you can select your region and reboot ....to much risk, for a useless function, belive me

I have successfully created my first ROM using the latest OS builder .. Edited your Mi7Rom for samsung focus and added some customization from Volunptary .. It worked well and running smoothly in my device too ...

cool, 12 points from germany . very nice! ....step by step, but do little steps

off course Miro, i am wont hurry more.
Now only one by one functionality .. Have to check about adding certificates and themes to the ROM.

In the Rom there are two options or you can say two version of this rom. You can make this rom a "Hacked Custom Rom" or a "Unhacked Custom Rom".

Elite_apps_compressed2.bin file included in the rom for flashing. By flashing this file your phone will be hacked and kies will detect your phone as S8600 and you can install all the bada 2.0 apps and games on your S8530/S8500.
IMPORTANT NOTE : In the Rom there are two apps_compressed.bin files are added. One is named Elite_apps_compressed2.bin which should be used for hacking the rom.
For the users who wants Unhacked Elite Custom Rom flash all the files except "Elite_apps_compressed2.bin".
For the users who wants Hacked Elite Custom Rom should flash all the necessary files but use Elite_apps_compressed.bin instead of simple apps_compressed.bin.
If any user wants to return to the unhacked custom rom just flash the simple apps_compressed.bin file and they are done and vice versa for the user who wants to hack the firmware after using the normal custom rom than they will have to flash Elite_apps_compressed2.bin.

This version also has hacked and unhacked .... So you can use unhacked version of this rom. And you can install the apps again via kies or samsung apps from your mobile.
Please read the highlights

i have read it but i am asking that while installing of apps via kies my wave 2 will be detected as wave 3 so will i be able to install the apps i have in my samsung apps acount.

So whats the problem in understanding. If you want your apps than use unhacked and if you want hacked than you will have to download the apps again in kies... As simple as that. k understood earlier i thought installing of apps depends on imei number AND EVEN IF I USE HACKED VERSION I CAN INSTALL APPS FROM MY ACCOUNT

according to me both the team elite members have wave2 and not wave 1 so even if they devolope the rom how will they test it..

After flashing I try to add facebook, but the option for push services does not appear.
After modifying the CSC, I get Registration Failed when trying to add push notifications.

Buddy i am using the same rom and i have got the facebook push notifications but it doesnt work. Its the problem from samsung and not our rom.

@tapan15in I am facing a serious problem with elite rom for S8500. In the accounts list, after accepting the disclaimer, I only get the option to add a Samsung account and no other account. I have tried reflashinf it but it still doesnt work. Please look into it.

Recently i used your Elite firmware in my Wave-S8500..its quite nice thanks. But i am facing problem using in Social Hub. When click the icon of social hub the Device is restarted and there is no e-mail account setting..

Upgrade not available thru Kies

Thank you for the ROM, my fone is GT 8500 and upgraded the same provided by you, what i did is i used unhacked version, after connecting to to kies able to download 2.0 apps., but a message in KIES home screen appears to be this "Your Device doesnot support software upgrade via kies"
Can we have an alternative on this ?

[IDEA][Installer] Astoria installer for W10M Unsupported devices

Thinking of a new method of installing AoW, and I think I have found a way to install AoW without the Dev update on the latest release of W10M.
How many of you would want something like this done? It would require full interop/cap unlock with 1st/2nd/3rd party permissions unlocked as well using the Root Tool.
I am starting research on this now to see if it is worth while.
Let me know peeps!

If this would manage to skip the device hardware check and allow us to run project astoria on 512MB RAM devices then I am really interested and ready to test.

Might be awhile, but I will let you know when I have an alpha installer.

I already tried adding the files and registry entries myself, some of the registry entries can't be written, at least not by any registry editor released until now, also did the downgrade and update with an other device's entries trick to try to enable it so I now seem to have all the aow files in their place and the entries are also there (at least the entries I know about) yet it doesn't work so at least for users of devices with 512MB RAM this might not be possible (I think that somehow the android build/hyper-v implementation/something else check the hardware and don't allow it to boot on 512MB RAM).
I am still willing to test but I think that even if you manage to find and write all the registry entries you might need an other tester with a (hardware wise) better device to actually find out if it's working or not.

Well I have a Lumia 640 which is not supported yet, but will be in the future. 1GB RAM Quad-Core

i can test if you want i have a lumia 625....

UPDATE: I think I am getting close to a solution. if someone who has astoria on their device already could you rip all the files from "C:\Windows\System32\aow" from your phone, zip them up and send them to me in a private message? It would be of GREAT help to make sure I have the latest files.

I made some tests but I was stuck on adding new values in registry.. But I had all the values to put and all the files and other modifications

Realistically this would only work on Nokia, which requires a special DLL to be used in the project to set/create registry items.

You need a lot more than that, me and other people are working on this. I already pushed all the astoria files and dlls, and restored the service key and values to trigger the dlls. It needs more than that to work in newer builds, when i mean newer builds i refer to 10586.x or higher .

Well... I have a Lumia 925 running latest Windows 10 Mobile build ever (Redstone 4) Build 15254
But be careful!
You may brick a lot of devices...

If you really want to work on this, i can give you all the files i've got on my research aswell as the registry keys that you can import with interop tools. Since i had to format my pc and such, didn't install anything related to windows phone, so i left the project in the trunk but, as i said, if you really want to work on this i can provide you with the files and keys.

Well... I will take it!
Just upload it to a download server for example MEGA.CO.NZ
And and the download link to me via private messages.
If everything would succeed and I will finally make it to the finish, I will make a program that will install Astoria onto your phone via just pressing a button!
You can also check out my other software that I made and published to xda developers, I will be very happy if one of them will help you fixing problems with your phone (if you have problems of course) or installing Windows 10 Mobile onto your phone with just 3 clicks!

Since it gets harder and harder to find any resources and files to explore the legendary history of the HTC HD2, i started searching and downloading as much as i could before we miss the last chance of downloading them.
Now here´s the (hopefully) growing up all in one archive

Yep just recently got a working HD2 again and i was shocked since almost everything is now forgotten, dead and hard to find any mirrors.
Devs even removed their source code from github.
I´m familiar with building ROMs but without source, there´s no way

I was lucky and "smart" enough to keep all of the roms I downloaded from goo.im before it went under, since the vast majority of HD2 stuff was hosted there.
At some point you may want to make subfolders for either Android NAND or NativeSD roms in the Android directory.

i think ive got HD2 tool kit working ok on 10 -
right click on the instal file - donmt run as admin... go down to "troubleshoot compatibility.." select the win 7 option and let it instal...leave the screen open, run tool kit ok - or at least mine does, then confirm in the troubleshoot AOK

Hi, i guess RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship.exe will be the latest non branded RUU you´re looking for.

As someone who still tinkers with his two HD2's (one of them is a full time music player for the car), I appreciate this project very much. It's nice to see the legendary LEO is not forgotten!
So in the spirit of this endeavor I dug into my archives to see what files I had and to organize them a bit. I've also uploaded these files to Mega. Feel free to grab whatever you find useful and roll these items into your "master" archive. In the meantime other forum users are welcome to see if there is anything they might want.
