Stuck at Boot.img via ODIN update - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I am trying to install the XXUAME2 pre-rooted ROM as I have that version but it is now stuck at boot.img for the last 10 minutes and has not changed. Anyone know why this is happening? What shall I do?
OK So I cancelled the update and it rebooted fine. Anyone know why I can update via ODIN? I tried the CF-Root method and the same thing happens. It gets stick at boot.img.

I had a faulty usb data cable. Drove me mad

MTP broken since MF9 update.

I'm running a totally stock Sprint Galaxy S4. I recently updated my firmware and I'm now unable to connect to Odin or use MTP for file transfer. My phone will mount as a camera. I have used various cables to rule that out. I also went to the Samsung website to get the latest usb drivers. I went so far as to wipe my phone too. Does anyone know how to fix this? I would like to root my phone. I have a stock recovery so I'm limited on what I can flash. I also downloaded official firmware but had signature issues. Please help Lord Vader. I must destroy Jedi Scum

I know it's the wrong section but must answer. My S4 refused to connect. I tried x3 cheap-o-usb connect wires (even a HTC wire which I was told was high quality) and as a last result I used my Western Digital Portable Hard Drive cord which is notably much thicker and it connected.

Try uninstalling the Samsung drivers then reinstalling? If Odin doesn't recognize it, it seems to be a driver issue. Or try to connect your phone to a different PC.

Are you rooted? When download mode comes up have you cancelled, vol down?

Have you tried kies? Some have reported that that has worked for them.
Mine does the same thing it will not boot into recovery you have to boot power+home+volume down then press volume down again to cancel and it should reboot from there fine

Did you have a custom recovery ie. Twrp?
I had rooted my wife's gs4 mdl but only rooted she wouldn't let me do anything else, I however had twrp custom recovery and when the ota update of mf3 we both lost root but I lost the ability to factory reset where she did not when I try it goes into Odin mode and I have to do what I stated before to reboot, hers however was able to factory reset no prob

GalaxyS4 I9505 not charging

Hi
I bought 3 weeks galaxys4 I9505
suddenly before few days the phone charge the phone very slowly. i thought its the charger so i bought new 1 and now the phone is not charging at all.
i replaced battery and its not solve the problem.
factory default will solve the problem?
any other idea?
Thank you Ran
Are you using the official samsung charger and USB lead they supplied? Some micro USB leads can be dodgy. One I borrowed at work wouldn't mount on the PC. If its brand new I'd send it back otherwise

Yes i am using the official charger and i change 2 more to check . its brand. but i prefer to try to solve it alone because the phone with root and i don't want to wait 24 hours to let them check the phone.
any more idea?
??
Could just be the battery.

Replaced 3 battery. still same problem
It's looking like it could be a hardware fault. It will need sending back for repair.
If you are using a stock Kernel on your current rom I would look into trying to reset the binary counter using Traingleway. Obviously you will need a charged battery for this. Use a friends phone or something
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494114
This will reset the flash counter on the device but I can't confirm if this will pass an engineers inspection. Make sure you read the thread thoroughly
Once reset, use mobile odin to flash an unrooted copy of the official firmware on the device. Using odin will only increase the binary counter again but mobile odin does not.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347899
delete the offical firmware from the internal SD and send the phone back for repair. In it's current state your phone is useless so you may aswell try

[HELP] no in-call sound

I have a friend who has an N4 8GB, after the update to 4.3 from 4.2.2, the in-call sound dissapeared.
After tinkering with it, while unrooted, we found out that the phone is thinking the earphones are alway connected, even though they are not.
We downloaded an app that disables the earphone jack and it worked, but what a crappy workaround.
So, is there a fix for this? It was working on 4.2.2... I want to fix this while still being unrooted and stock.
I can give details if required.
more:
-baseband and bootloader got updated automatically to the latest.
-build number is JWR66Y, i saw people factory resetting their phone but it didn't solve that issue, so I'm guessing downgrading to JWR66V?

RMA it if it doesn't work after flashing the factory images because I don't know what else you could do. Flash everything together all over again too. Flash the bootloader then restart boot loader. Flash radio then restart Bootloader and then finally flash the system

Change the USB Port, make sure you dont connect to USB 3.0, change the cable
If all of the above failed try it on another pc

Anytime bro
I've encounter this problem once before and this is what i did to get flash success through odin.
close all running program on your pc.. start odin and plug in your usb cable.. please do not use your pc while flashing stock rom on your phone because this is why it kept falling..flashing stock rom on galaxy s4 took pretty long time since the file is big.. just wait until the process is finish..
note : you can still use download mode when you get this message ( firmware upgrade encountered an issue )
p/s : i didn't see that it already has been solved.. i'm very tired when writing this so i think i might just post it here so other member can get clue when they encounter this problem
it took time when writing this, cuz my english is bad and i don't want to just delete it
