[Q] Import .ics into google calendar on CM10.1 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hey everyone,
I installed CM10.1 and after, I am unable to import .ics files into my calendar. I just get the message that there is no program that can open the file, if i save and open it from file explorer, text editor opens it and it's of no use. On stock rom, if you click on .ics you can import it straight to Google calendar. Any ideas?

I'm having a similar problem using slimbean.

[Q] fission vanilla rom backup assistant?

never backed them up with your Google contacts?
You can export them from the verizon page, then import them into google/google sync
backup assistant fix for fission
I just had the same problem. you can download android-syncservice-app.apk and backupassistantclient.apk extract the apk's from these and use root explorer to add back to your system/app folder and then long press both and set the permissions then reboot and you will have backup assistant again after the reboot

i had tried this, it got backup assistant to work, however i was unable to view the contacts that it imported unless i searched for each individual one. the best answer is export to csv from verizon.com and import it into google contacts as noted earlier.

Import contacts from bak file using Phone portal on CM9?

I just installed CM9 on my moto Defy which is great, but I previously created a bak file with all my contacts numbers, I'm trying to use "phone portal" to restore that file into my phone but it always tells me "server error" so I cannot do the process on the computer, it normally gives you an url where you can see everything you have in your phone through your web browser on the pc, is not working anymore on CM9? thanks!
EDIT: If there's any other way than using Moto Phone Portal(to import a bak, csv, vcf) file please let me know thanks!
Why didn't you export your contacts to SD card in vcf format using inbuild backup feature??
anyway, if its .vcf file then just copy it on root of sd card and run it via contacts>Inport contacts from sd card>import one v card(if you have one vcf file) or import all v cards( if you have more than one v cards. Thats it.
I always did it like I said, however, never installed a custom ROM before, anyway, THANKS A LOT for the help, I will give it a try tonight It will save me a lot of time >_<
EDIT: Done! thank you!

Which file explorer are you using? I can't seem to find one that will let me rename, or change permissions. Thanks!

Is the ChromeBookmarksSyncAdapter.apk supposed to sync my bookmarks? I placed it into the system folder, and renamed the two apps in there already, rebooted and the Browser showed up, and works just fine, but I don't see any option to sync my browser. I went into Settings - Add Account, but only my apps (like facebook, and google) are shown, not the browser. Any ideas on how to get that working?

You have to go to Settings, Google, click on your gmail. Browser should show up there, and you can put a checkmark beside it to enable syncing,

[Q] Project Firefly Contacts Sync Bug

I'm currently on the latest version of the international Project Firefly ROM. I've not been able to sync my contacts with Google. I tried flashing gapps but it doesn't seem to help. Any help?
Go to your contacts via PC and export them to a .vcf file, put that file on your phone, use Files app and select your contacts vcf file and choose contacts it will import them for you!
