Hello I currently have a Vibrant and the phone has TV out with a touchwiz rom but switching to cm7 or miui it doesn't....I was thinking about the evo and how it also has tv out with a SENSE ROM and was wondering if you can use tv in cm7 or miui?

If you want to use hdmi mirroring, that is completely possible on any froyo roms such as mynswarm2.2
Our gingerbread kernel source code, which is needed for hdmi out, was just released, so devs are working on getting full hdmi out working on custom gingerbread roms.

Yes, with the right kernal and the right hdmi mirroring app. And the right cable.
The only thing I can get my HDMI cable to do is display youtube. lol. stupid phone. HOWEVER, NICE LITTLE FACT! what's the point if the phones can't even play back video in the MOST COMMON FORMATS THAT HAVE BEEN AROUND FOR 10 YEARS!
This would be sortof on the same subject. what is the best program to use?
Wow!
I wish we could have an app ...
We use the headphone Jack and so far there isn't any tv out!

There is, its called an hdmi mirroring app.
CM7 has certain kernels with hardware acceleration enabled for hdmi mirroring.
The app in the market is called "Full HDMI Mirroring for Evo 4G."
yxplayer2 in the market plays almost any format.
XBMC Atrix *HDMI* (Any Blur based ROM)
The user "djeman" brought us, an HDMI version of XBMC for the Atrix.
Here is the link: CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD
Test and let me know how it works.
Special thanks to djeman

XBMC
Description:
Is the one of the most complete multimedia center, where you can play your favorite audios, videos, movies, also it supports many plugins like (TV, Web, Apps, etc.).
Considering this is an Atrix, this could be used as the new WebTop for CM7/CM9/CM10 but more for multimedia than office and other things, but you can always go the plugins way.
I'm bringing the XBMC from the dev kemonine96, since it works almost fully and I have been testing it to the bottom, so any question you can ask me. TEST AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Here is the original post so you can download it and test it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1813089
Thanks for all.
** Known Bugs:
*CPU1 when not playing anything, it freezes at 67%.
*Cannot load 720p+ Videos, it lags a lot due to HW lack.
*Won't change resolution.
Special thanks to kemonine96.
Does this use native resolutions under hdmi mirroring?
Just want to say the tegra version in the link is working on my th3bill miui rom.
I can connect to my network and stream etc, just like xbmc on anything else. Navigation is a bit fiddly, being touch only.
Can't wait to replace my atv2 with an Android box
Awesome, cheers!

You can always modify resolutions in the Settings of XBMC, that being said, yes.

Actually, you can't. I tried with my lapdock, and it wouldn't let me change it. It looks ok on my lapdock, but in a tv it would look big.
I still don't know how to play music/video using it, it seems like it doesn't come with a music/video player built in.
Im going to go around their forum later to figure out those things.
Looks pretty nice so far.

You will also want to check their wiki. It outlines usage very well. Keep in mind the Atrix is an unofficially supported device. If you have android specific issues or playback problems please post back to XDA. The official channels will not be able to help with Atrix specific issues.

What do you mean sir Luis? Everything works fine, is true that I haven't tried the resolution change since my dock is on the mail but it should scale up fine. If somebody else report back or you can surely confirm it doesn't then I will post it as a bug in the OP.

Just added it to bug list
So this runs on straight Android? Or do we run it from Ubuntu on our phones? And add-ons work just on the phone, e.g., like radio streams (sky.fm, digitally imported), anime freak, scrubbers, etc? If so, very interesting!

This runs on straight Android.
If you are running ubuntu on your phone you will want the version from the ubuntu ppa or similar.
Add-ons should generally work. A few may not, but I haven't heard of / know any being outright broken offhand. This should include the last.fm / sky.fm / scrobblers / you tube and the like. If you run into any broken add-ons let me know and I will update the main thread with the known-broken add-ons.

I'm working on a hdmi version with the motorola api dual screen
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11889182/xbmc/xbmcapp-armeabi-v7a-debug_hdmi_050912.apk
It's a version only hdmi and it don't works on cyanogenmod, you can change resolution.
Compiled with openmax il but this part is experimental (no sounds on gui :x).
Cool, nice job doing so, will update the OT, when I have time.

If aimed at me (the guy behind the main nightlies thread): I won't be including the external player patch in my builds just yet. Right now there are no official nightlies being built and I plan to keep mine as close to vanilla xbmc as possible until they post official nightlies.
When official nightlies are posted I'll be taking a closer look at different patch sets and re-evaluating including them in my builds.
Hello,
I used to own a Nexus S and I remember having the app Voodoo Sound installed, which "unlocked" the phone's audio hardware's true potential.
I was wondering if there was an app available for the GS4 that would enhance the phone's audio performance in a similar fashion.
NB: I did check out Voodoo on the play store, only to not see the GS4 listed under "supported models".
Anyone have any suggestions/comments?
Thank you very much.

Not quite what he's asking for...voodoo was a little different, it enabled the user to really tweak how the audio chip worked...not only in loudness
For now your best bet is viper4android...its not as good as voodoo was but its much better than stock...viper however is pretty buggy on the s4, typically the first music player I try won't work so I'll have to switch to a diferrent one

If you are rooted, and that is easy to do by the way, then I recommend Viper XHifi. Has made a massive difference for me, far better with it on this phone and my nexus 4.
There is also another Viper mod, that does more effects for the music too. Forgot it's name.
Run viper4android and you'll never look back. Amazing sound mod

o you mean the phone speakers? The main xda thread about the app has a link to the recommended settings for headphones & speakers etc.
I only use the headphone setting as don't listen to music without earphones on it.
Hi guys, I have small but annoying issue with my Nexus 10:
When watching a video (in any app, including youtube) the audio and the video are slightly out of sync. This is noticeable even for the smallest file and gets a lot worse at 2gb+ movies. I understand the tablet has to cope with this huge resolution but even with 100mb videos? I noticed this on 4.4.2 but it's the same on 4.4.4.
Now, I wonder could somebody recommend a ROM where this issue is not present? I heard SlimKat was pretty good for example but I dont know how it handles video playback.
Thanks in advance

I never had this issue. You could try to use a custom kernel. If that doesnt work I suggest you try out f2fs.

That is strange. Have you downloaded a video and tried watching it directly from your N10? This would maybe rule out a slim chance of an internet or wifi issue. I only say this because I had a weird issue with my wifi that was causing slow and strange results including audio/video out of sync.
What are you currently running - i.e. kernel and ROM?

Ah yes, also for downloaded files. And it gets worse with larger files.
I'm running stock 4.4.2. Maybe Lollipop will fix it..Btw I've found Dice Player in the meantime, which has audio offset functionality - this was the quickest fix for now

Hi,
When playing some super high quality videos I face this problem too. But on KitKat update and using MX Player SW decoder I can play any file without problems. I suggest you to try it!
