For doing that you need to get a rom which does not have a custom rom with it, as once you install a custom rom with kernel, the kernel gets installed too.
Hit Thanks if I helped.

Thanks for answaring my post. But I can't understand your those lines-"doing that you need to get a rom which does not have a custom rom with it".
And I know that installing roms with kernels that installs the kernel too,but I want a editing method to remove the kernels and just install the roms....

The codes required to inject the boot.img is also not removed from the installer script.
By doing this you are increasing the chance for the phone to fail during the installation process and possibly not boot at all.
My suggestion is install a stock rom then install a theme (not a rom just a theme, many are available in the themes and apps section) then install your desired tweaks and kernel.
Also that banned rom is buggy and full o crap.,

As this tweak worked
According to Deathnotice01
boot.img installation script is not removed from ( meta-inf) that rom so if i make backup of my stockrom as
TECHNO_THUNDER wanted stock kernal recreate xxxxrom.zip with Stock boot.img I think this also worked thus there is no chance of not booting phone as there boot.img installation script runs successfully

hey its very easy
extract the .zip file then delete the boot.img and again make a zip without boot.img and install it
this way kernel wont be installed

Just wanna ask... Do stock roms need to be deodexed before you can install themes in them? or is it fine if theyre still odexed?

Deodex is a prerequisite and is mandated before flashing things that change system and frameworks. E.g themes

I just flashed it in an odexed stock rom >.<
Now I got bootloop.
I just downloaded lots of games from google play, which I dont wanna redo.
I made a CWM backup, of course the backup will surely cause bootloop, but all app files are still there right?
Can I edit the CWM backup zip file so I can flash back the apps I downloaded?? Right after reflashing stock rom that is.

[Q] Deodexed Theme Template or equivalent?

Hi all,
Wondering if anyone has made a stock theme template for the Shift? All I see are ROMs but I like to mess around with a clean stock deodexed system for a while before I flash a full ROM. I would make one myself but I'm still learning how the update-script/updater-script works. Is there one, or does everyone just flash ROMs around here? Closest I've found is the theme eraser, but that assumes you're already deodexed (no .odex removal script). Any help would be appreciated, links to guides, tutorials, how CWM works, a stock theme template, anything. And thanks in advance.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=948566
there ya go
Thank you, but this is a full ROM not a theme template.

Are you looking for the stock framework then?
Sent from my PG06100 using XDA App
Basically just the /system/app and /system/framework dirs deodexed. no other changes to the system folder. And a script that removes the odex files. Can that be run with just an update-script, or would it need other things?
Sent from my PG06100 using Tapatalk
Just unzip the zip file from the thread foxsdaddy67 linked & you have access to those two deodexed directories.
I guess I'm not being clear enough. I'm aware those files are there, what I don't understand is how cwm works. I'm coming from sdx where every rom, theme and mod had the same structure with only an update script in meta-inf. By testing I did find out that just having an update script works though I'm not sure if a script will run. Guess I'll have to test it.
Bottom line is that there is no flashable theme template zip, only roms, but I think I'll be fixing that shortly.

[MOD] Statusbar Tweaks for Stock firmware **DISCONTINUED**

DISCONTINUED. New updates on this THREAD
Hello!
I'm parasmi from the Galaxy Mini Forum.
Just want to share this mod to the Galaxy Ace users
This mod adds customization to statusbar clock, battery, and signal. It also includes Battery Bar and will enable you to change statusbar background color and transparency (needs root access). It's accessible via Setings > Statusbar Tweaks
I don't have an Ace but I tested it on my phone using your DDKQ8 firmware. No guarantee in will work on other firmwares.
As always, flash at your own risk! Backup is a must!
Credits:
RomanBB for Statusbar Tweaks sources
pvyParts for additional Statusbar Tweaks sources and Battery Bar
Screenshots (taken from my ROM) HERE and HERE
@ROM cooks - if you will use this in your ROM, please give proper credit and add a link to this post.
Enjoy!
Installation notes:
-Again, your firmware should be DDKQ8
-You should know if you have an odex or de-odex firmware
-You only need to install 1 zip file from the attachment. It will depend if you are using CWM or Stock Recovery AND if you have an odex or de-odex system
If the zip file doesn't work, try manual installation -
1. Extract the contents of the appropriate zip file
2. Using Root Explorer, copy the extracted APKs to your phone's /system/app/ folder. Override files if prompted
3. Set permissions as attached
4. Reboot
5. To use custom fonts, create a folder /system/TEAM/font/ and place any font file a rename it to 'clock_font.ttf'. Set permissions as attached
Reserve just in case
hey
im uisng ddkq8 on ace and the 3 rd app from your list does not install via cm 5.some advise?

Great job bro !!!!
Thanks.
does this have the battery bar like honey comb ???
I use Lovetz's Odexed CyanogenMod 7.2-cooper-KANG-RC1-Android 2.3.7 on DDKQ8, and installed this in a hurry (cause I've been hungering for transparent status bar for a long time). But after reboot, I lost settings option from the menu. As you adviced, I used odex patch and its an odexed Rom over DDKQ8 base, so whats wrong? Its not for CM7?

When flashing via CWM, I'm experiencing a status 7 error, to be more specific it is saying that 'some symlinks failed'...

So, is there any link that has the correct 100% working version of this rom? I'm a bit confused by all the edits and re-uploads
Just got this device a couple of hours ago and I've got CM10.1 FXP installed, but it's too unreliable and I want to go back to stock (preferably NL version) if possible.

I have downloaded and installed the Deodexed Stock rom from xl3thalturdzz.
It installed without any problems.
I think its Deodexed because i installed the black navigation bar from krabappel2548 and it runs perfectly.
Its not rooted so you have to do that yourself.
And if you see a weird icon in the statusbar then its because NFC is turned on in settings.
