Well I'm working on a rom right now that I'm hopen to have out by the end of the week. A majority of what you want will be implemented in my rom.

this is the most extreme case of laziness I think I've seen on XDA
what's the best rom available? And can you link to that rom? Also can you link to how to flash it? can you also feed me grapes as you do so?

But seriously, <3me, these sorts of post really do belong in the General discussion forum. Now, if this were a real project underway (as in, in actual development) instead of a wishlist, that's the sort of thing that's good for the development forum.
If everyone starts posting their wishlists in the development forum, this place will get so cluttered (not that this doesn't happen all the time anyways) that it will be difficult to follow the actual projects (custom kernels, distributions, etc).

I for one would like to see this moved to Development because the OP does have some valid ideas. This is pretty much what I would like in a ROM as well so it would be nice to hear some feedback from some actual Devs rather than just someone who feels like bashing the OP (johnsongrantr).

[REQUEST] Galaxy S II stuff

Okay,
since I used the search but did not find any similar threads, I have a request, not only for me, but for all owners of this phone.
I want, if this is possible, to make a thread, where the mods, developers collect all the stuff which are for costumisation this device, example ICONS, WIDGETS...
There are threads fof themes but not for icons and widgets. I was searching for Senese style icons, Sense style widgets, but didnt find. So, for me and for others, lets post here those fancy stuffs

So you are asking that every time a Dev makes a new widget icon whatever its posted here with a full description ??? As well as on the page its released on in Dev or Themes section .

No, I just want to make this thread like a collector for the widgets, clocks, etc, you know, everything in one place...

I think that would be something you'd have to do yourself, create a post and add links. There are already a couple for custom roms and kernels.

I see you didnt understand the point of this topic...is there, in the theme section, any topic which gaderates all the desktop icons, battery icons, widgetsd...im not talking about themes, but about icons and widgets.

Looks understood to me you want that service you are going to have to be the curator and collect them all for the thread Devs to busy .

Something like this would be smart if it were to be implemented in Wiki format so everybody can add to it, but it's useless in a forum since there's always one (or a few) who will have to curate and update it.

Soft Modder Section

Hey guys, I've been observing the X8 Dev section and what i've observed is that there are many "developers" releasing their "roms", faster than Kim Kardashian's divorce D trust me, THAT was really fast TBH)...and from what I see, things are getting very ugly between know-it-all senior members and wannabe developers...the former accusing the latter that he/she merely themed a MiniCM rom and the latter defending their work, based on the fact that soft-modding is not a crime on xda, so as long as they're free of warez and proper credits are given...
I want your opinions and thoughts on the subject; Should a Soft-Modding Section be opened for these junior/begginer/wannabe developers ?
I for one feel that it should. Soft-modding is the 1st step in learning how to develop. No one should be punushed or banned for doing so...however, I also agree that the DEV forums shouldn't be cluttered with these modded roms... Even I am sick and tired of opening a new thread and reading past the 1st paragraph, saying something like "Hi, this is my first rom on XDA ! I hope you guys like it ! My work is based on nAa's MiniCM 2.2.0, with a few "tweaks" to it"...and what makes me even more sick is the amount of negative responses from senior members whom I thought had more ethics and manners...and what DO i always see happening to these threads ? A lock icon on the top right corner (I use tapatalk app )...So I want to know, what do you think ?

Yes thats exactly what im proposing....soft modding is not considered DEVELOPING but neither is it as lowly as to be considered THEMING either...i have tried these modded roms...some are merely themed but some are actually better than the originals

A thread for modded roms and stuff? Sounds good!

we only have a few base roms and tons of soft modded roms

I agree with having a separate section.Soft modding is not against the forum rules, while endless flame wars and spamming is. If people want to have it clear on whether a rom is original or tweaked, the best solution is a separate section.

Guys we have "themes and apps" section.
What do soft modders do ?
They edit framework-res and system UI
AND thats what themers do.
People should post in themes and apps section.
BUT members want to be "recognized developers" so they post in dev secion(i can understand you guyz)
PS-was getting bored of studying,couldnt leave xda

I would like to say yes but I think its not necessary.I mean,me like what these guy doing & me appreciated Them but thats not the way should be.
1.If somebody can fix some bugs or can make a rom better performance why not just cooperate with DEV so their can solved in their next update.
However, there always a few exceptional like:
a)Dev had enough, others can continued exp-what B.Jay do for GDX
b)Make a rom for difference kernel exp-What Devstaf did for ICS stock
2.If somebody can make a rom more beautiful there are 2 options they can post in Theme sec.
a)make a flashable zip exp-what Bakabon19 do for Athojan SDE rom
b)make a CWM/Xrecovery backup-not yet in here but many Chinese forum already practicing it.
So if everybody play theirs role,the add sec need no more.

[ROM] Steel Wolf v1(DXKT7) - 18 April 2012

This Rom is base from adrenaline DXKT7. Very fast and smooth (you can play PES 2012 smoothly). The battery life is best. Just awesome!
Stock Gallery deleted, added quickpic

-Added task manager, because adrenaline dxkt7 doesnt have that. Its reboot when we hold home. So I add task manager.

this is why im not share my moded rom with some script on others device that works on SGA . hehe

OK it's def not a new rom just a mod. The question is did this work improve the original rom or not? Imbawind maybe you would be the best to judge this.

well, this depends on users' requirement
some of them hv required me to add quick pic instead of Gallery3D , Task Manager and Dolphin Browser instead of stock browser
but both of my Adrenaline ROM is meant for stock , so it's impossible for me to replace those system app
this rom's system performance should be almost same with my adrenaline rom
so this rom may satisfy some users need
but, for me, it would more likely to be a mod than a rom

What do you mean fixed? I like the colour!

The grey status bar was never a bug, it was a UI change made on purpose by Samsung, you will have to get used to it or just start making your own themes!
