Of course you could've gone to the original thread on this topic HERE rather than create a whole new one to tell us something that has already been posted.

I'm pretty sure that not everyone is checking that thread. And by the thread titles alone, they are 2 different topics: mine is a confirmation of 4.3 while the other is a speculation of 4.4.

Sony today has confirmed that Android 4.4 starts rolling out for Z1, Z1C and Z Ultra:
http://blogs.sonymobile.com/2014/03...eria-z-ultra-xperia-z1-and-xperia-z1-compact/
Next in line is the rest of Z family: Z, ZL, Tablet Z and ZR and the new phones T2 Ultra, M2 and E1. No mentioning of SP, T and V. So it's quite obvious that we will NOT receive any future updates. The phone that is not even one year old is abandoned by Sony. I think we will receive one more bug "fixing" update for 4.3 (the one that is certified) and that's it. What do you think guys? Is there any chance we will get official 4.4?

Since Z3v is released and has Z2 hardware (only different in Qi charger) I would like to say that maybe Z3v rom can work on Z2 with PS4 Remote Play and DSEE/Latest Android and many other stuff....
Anybody can catch some of Z3v FTF on Sony server?
Are you sure you wanna do something like that?
If you flash Z3 kernel you'll probably end up with a Z2 kids toy.
Even if you somehow flash fw without kernel you'll get millions of FCing and errors...
ROM has to be ported.
BTW - I think they used different MB (mother board) this time, I'm not sure but I think they did.
There is no Z3v firmware available yet...
I have tried to flash Z3 firmware on Z2 without success.
Don't try this at home!

Lol. I think we should all just be calm and see what Z2's 23.xxxx firmware brings.
there are no firmwares for xperia z3v yet although the phone is already listed on sony server.actually xperia z3v phone is like a prototype of xperia z2 d6708 verizon which i have,i flash it with z2 latest firmware but no luck, i cannot open anymore there is only a vibrations. through browsing on internet i came across XPERIA Z3V specs,it was the same as mine so i decided to download z3 latest firmware, still no luck but this time there was already light but no display,so I think xperia z3 and z3v motherboard is completely different to each other based on my experience and z2 and z3 both have magnetic charging port, mine dont have.PATIENTLY WAITiNG HOPEFULLY AFTER THE RELEASED OF XPERIA Z3V ON OCT.23,SONY MAKE XPERIA Z3V FIRMWARE AVAILABLE .

Yeah. Lol. Fantastic ROM. Only battery seemed to be draining a tad faster. Especially when listening to Music with all those mods. Awesome sound anyways

You're gonna be waiting a while
I have Lollipop on my Nexus 5 and my Nexus 7(2013), To be honest. I liked the look and feel of KitKat better.
This material design or whatever they call it feels just like they wanna look like windoz8.

actually i agree with you. "Played" a bit with Lollypop in Nexus 6 and 9 devices. Yes, it's nice, but i didn't feel that it's revolution as was advertised. There are new features of course, but seems that majority of them are interface design (material) changes.
So in general it seems an evolution to KitKat, like iOS 8 to iOS 7. But KitKat with xposed framework and a few other mods&tweaks, i reckon it can be as functional as Lollipop.
So no extra passion to get lollipop to tabz as soon as possible.

I agree as well, it seems Sony has decided to customise AOSP very minimally, so don't expect many differences between the Nexus 7 and the sony software

Do you realize you ressurected many different several month old threads?
Xperia Tablet Z forum is almost dead... nobody is craving for lollipop
So, WHERE IS OUR LOLLIPOP?????
Do you guys know if we can install the ota lollipop update if we have root? Or do we have to flash the full rom using emma?

Just wait for a Pre Rooted ROM
I guess we have to wait and see.
However, seeing that the OTA fails on rooted Nexus devices since 5.0.1 , I highly doubt you can OTA update other rooted devices above 5.0.1 either. So it'll probably be the good'ol "unroot, update, re-root"
But hey. I might be wrong.
As far as I can remember, there was no OTA for any of the previous versions for the Tablet Z. You have to update via their PC software, so it just sort of "dirty flashes" the system on top, overwriting your kernel and removing root that way.
So far I can see that Z3, Z3 compact, Z2, Z1 and Z1 compact got the update, so we're next

T2 Ultra and C3 too!
Some people are complaining about laggy performance on Z2 tablet... so I don't expect anything better on our older tablet Z.. sadly..

Android 6.0 Marshmallow released today, when will hit Xperia devices? | Xperia Blog
http://www.xperiablog.net/2015/10/0...-released-today-when-will-hit-xperia-devices/
What do you think? Which Xperia models will get it? Will The Z2 be included in the update list? If yes when will Sony roll out for us? Share your opinions.
If following prior logic proves to be correct
All Supported Xperia flagships all the way back to Z unless sony decide to drop Z1 and Z now.
I do really hope Z2 and Z5 Premium get it fast due to me having Z2 and planning to buy Z5 Premium
i hope same asap for z2
