Sorry for the confusion, but my question is, how do i remove everything from the lockscreen? like I just want the unlock pattern only (wallpaper is fine), but i can see my text messages and email on the screen when its locked. I tried removing all the shortcuts, which removed the icons at the bottom, but i still get notices about personal info on the screen. Right now the lockscreen can swipe left/right. Its 2 screens, one with just the lockscreen, and the other that shows the personal info. But when the phone is locked it goes to the screen with personal info first. How can i remove everything? I've followed instructions that i googled elsewhere but those seem to not work. Please help

Multiple Appointments on Lockscreen? A Numpty ask the question.

I know there are some other threads about this but I just want to be clear.
Currently I use S2U2 to show multiple appointments on my Lockscreen. Actually it's Two lockscreens, as neither of the hacks in Tips 27 works on my phone. I have to go through two Lockscreens to get started.
My question is... is it really hard to hack the standard lockscreen to show more than one appointment at a time?
I mean to my pea-sized brain, it looks like some HTC Chef/Wizard/Master could simply change the '1' to a '5' say, somewhere in the software or registry and vwa-la, multiple (5) Appointments on Lockscreen.
Obviously it's beyond my spanner abilities (otherwise I'd have done it and been hailed as a hero), but some resident genius must know how to do it, surely?
Cheers
I've attached the cab I use to disable the native WM screen lock. I'm not sure offhand if this is the same one as in the tips thread but it definitely works for me.
I have no idea how to change the default WM screen, though, sorry
Thanks hicks, I'll give it a go.
I have Exchange email set up which requires a lockcreen with PIN for security.
I don't actually disagree that a lockscreen is useful as a security measure in this situation, but I'd love to have just the standard Sense lockscreen with multiple Appointments showing.
I think I can use S2U2 with a lockscreen so I'll try it and see how I go.
Thanks Again.

How To Remove Lock Screen Widgets (Clock)

Hey guys I've got another question. Does anybody know how to remove the clock from the lock screen?
I've gone through Setting>My Device>Lock Screen and have everything turned off.
I've even downloaded an app called "Lockscreen Policy" which has an option to disable Widget and/or Camera, I've switched both of them off as well. I don't remember the app saying anything about needing root to work.
Really annoying that the stupid clock is covering my Lock Screen Wallpaper especially when the Notification Bar is on the Lockscreen and that has a clock on it anyway.
Thanks in advance.

If you swipe down from the clock it will expand the widget. You can then long press it and drag it to the trash can that appears at the top of the screen.
Be aware, though, that if you do not have any widget there you will just see a screen with a big "+" sign asking you to add a new widget and once the phone locks the clock widget will reappear. The only way to get it to go away permanently is to replace it with a different widget.
Hope this helps.

Yea i just tried it out and see what you mean. I just don't understand the point of it being mandatory to have something. That ****s raining on my customization parade. Thanks for the input.

You should disable the stock lockscreen all together and give WidgetLocker a try. It works really well on my wife's Note 2, and it's super customizable.

I try this and is says "unable to edit in security mode". I understand I may need to "unlock" the phone w/ the security code - but how do I get back to remove the lock screen clock if I do that? I am trying to get Dashclock Widget going, but this is blocking me.
Any thoughts?

Do you have a pattern or PIN lock set? I don't think the widgets work with those.

You are correct. PIN/Pattern doesn't work with other widgets. Thanks man.
Solved it
Hi, folks -- registered just to report that I have solved this problem. Download Minimalistic Text (free), though I'm sure you already have it. Enable Multiple Widgets on the phone, then add a blank Minimalistic Text widget. Delete your clock as described above and enjoy.
even easier: Blank Lockscreen Widget (Play Store)
galaxy s4 lockscreen
This has probably already been mentioned by now but for those still strugglimg with this. Drag down the screen from were the message and clock is. Click the pen looking icon to edit delete txt and uncheck clock if that is not required. Then press save in the top right and your lock screen will be clear :good:

Drag down the life companion message and click edit. Delete text and uncheck clock if also not required then press save. No app or root required just needs to be edited from the lock screen. May need to disable your lock security while you edit. Hope this helps
hide lock screen clock Android 4.3
Hey guys,
I recently got a Note 3 discovered that you cannot remove the lock screen clock. Simply doesn't allow you the option to.
But I found a way to hide it using the "personal message" feature.
Turn personal message on in the lock screen options menu.
Simply uncheck the clock and date boxes and space across a single character (as it won't allow you to have no text but will allow you a space which is invisible anyways..) and then hit save.
So then the next time you go to wake up your phone the lock screen clock will be gone!
I really don't like the way you are literally forced to have a lock screen clock!?!?
I often change my lock screen and desktop wallpapers and don't like the screen to be cluttered with text I don't want to see..
I have only tested this method on my Galaxy Note 3 so I am unsure if this will work on other Android phones..
Also what I have found strangely enough is normally there would be a half to one second lag for the display to sleep when I lock the phone.
This lag seems to have all but gone now that I specified a personal message (even though its blank) and hid the clock & date. Bonus!!
Hope this helps. Apologies if this has been previously covered..
Have fun!

Thanks so much for this now if I can just find away for it not to show that you have a text message on the lock screen things will be great.
FIxed.
Hay guys.
Sorry for the late reply. But I found a way to remove everything on lockscreen...
Date, time and also the unlock icon and rings.
But for now to remove clock simply allow lockscreen widgets then download zooper widget and replace your stock clock widget with an blank zooper widget.
Hope i helped.

Why did Samsung take out ability to have lockscreen widgets....

While I have a pattern security? Just noticed that if I turn on "Pattern" security, that I can't have any lockscreen widgets, it will just revert to the stock Samsung clock with "Life Companion" (stock Samsung lockscreen). I was able to have both on the S3. I guess they saw it as a "security issue" or something? Is there a work around?
That and the "smearing" on dark screens are my only 2 gripes with the device.... other than that this thing is freakn sick!
Also, whenever I get a text message (and my screen is locked, with no security) by default it goes to a lockscreen screen telling me I have a new message. I have DashClock widget installed so that is not needed. But it won't let me delete that lockscreen because it only appears when I have a new message. Is there any way to disable that??
A stock S3 doesn't even support widgets cause it doesn't have 4.2.2
And it would contradict. Why lock your phone to hide info when you're just going to display it on the lockscreen?

Obviously talkin bout AOSP ROMs :silly: !
But I guess... like I said I assumed it was a security "issue". Although I have no issue with it. They should at least have an option for it! Do you have any idea about the other thing I said?

Afaik there isn't unless you disable notifications all together for messaging. I chompsms so I never had that issue.

I would like to lock my phone so that somebody without the pin/password can't get in to read my Emails, or review my files on cloud storage accounts, or send Emails/text messages out pretending to be me - etc.
But I would still like lockscreen widgets so that I can see my personal calendar events on the lockscreen (which shows only subject line - and requires password to go into details), or how my stocks are performing, or the ability to launch the camera app (not view old photos though) - all without having to enter the password.
It is a stock android feature that I sorely miss on the S4

[Q] New Message banner on lock screen

Has anyone noticed that when you tap a new message notification on the lock screen a clear white box pops up below? Isn't it supposed to open the messaging app when you tap on it? This happens even when my unlock Pin has not been triggered yet. I would post a screen shot but it goes away when I try to.

I guess the requirement for the swipe in the bottom prevents from accidentally unlocking you phone when its in your pocket.
My question is, how do I add more applications to that lock screen thing? I would like to use other apps, other than just text and missed calls.

That stuff is all in settings>my device>lockscreen. Add shortcuts, widgets, change the banner text or change the banner to clock....
Here's a question: on my s3 when I would get a text it would tell me who it was from on the lockscreen and the first few lines of the text would scroll by in my status bar, I'm wondering if anybody knows of a mod to give me this feature on the s4? Or if there's a mod for a popup message/quick reply with the stock messenger?

If you go into settings in the messaging app there is an option to turn on Preview.

There is no swipe at the bottom just a blank clear box that pops up when I tap on the message. I'm thinking maybe if I add some favorite apps to the lock screen thats where they would show up and since I havent set any its just blank. I will try this out.

If you are using the swipe to unlock feature. The default unlock with the phone, that clear box is the widget that reads the swipe.

Quick Settings in the Notification Pulldown

I searched thoroughly and couldn't find a thread or a fix. Where do we edit the quick settings in the notification pulldown? Mine is blank, and I don't readily see it in Settings, nor is there an edit function in the pulldown. Suggestions?
You don't have the editing pencil icon on there?

Nah, it's straight blank...
Someone else here solved that by rebooting the phone. Afterward the pencil icon appeared and they were able to set it up. Can't remember which thread at this point.
I've rebooted twice. No success...
Pull down the notifications and then pull down again on the (blank for you currently) quicksettings section and you'll see pencil that lets you edit

Oddly enough, I was able to get the quick settings to show up on the lockscreen. I edited it from there, and voila. It's a wierd glitch...

Thanks for this. JUST picked up mine and was going crazy since I wasn't seeing the toggles. Very odd that it comes up blank like that out of the box.
Hey I found out the issue here. I had the same thing happen with the T-mobile variant. I did a factory reset and restored my google account and it was still missing. I did a second factory reset and didn't restore and sure enough it showed up. I then did the oneplus restore and nothing changed. I then got the phone unlocked and still no issue. After a restart everything was fine and then I did a google restore. I chose only to restore call logs and messages. The second it was done the quick settings disappeared again. This is clearly an issue with google and this device. Not sure if it's a T-Mobile issue specifically

Ah, thank you, that fixed it for me. Mine was looking just like yours. And when I locked the screen and then pulled down the notifications drawer, a pencil did appear which let me fix it all up.
I think I might know what broke it for me. When I upgraded my OnePlus 5 from OxygenOS 5.1.7 to 9.0.3, I still had jOnePlus Tools [adb/root] by JRoot3D.dev installed, and it was changing how many quick settings tiles are shown after one swipe down (in the single row). I think it was essentially doing this:
Code:
adb shell settings put secure sysui_qqs_count 8
When I used the app to change that number, all my quick settings tiles disappeared. The app has not been updated in a while, so I'm going to keep it off my phone until it's updated for Android Pie
Just as a quick update on this. This is still a problem on the T-Mobile device on 9.0.13 fully stock.
I guess this must then mean that the quick setting cannot be hidden on the lockscreen...

Actually, I think I found a better solution here.
The trick seems to be that on the unlocked version of the shade, the pencil and user switcher icons only show up when you expand the QS panel. However, if you don't have enough icons in the panel to force the need for the additional row (there is a little hint that shows up when you drag an icon that indicates that you need at least 6 icons), then you can't swipe it down, and there no icons or any warning of any sort are shown.
The shade on the lockscreen doesn't appear to enforce that icon minimum, so the pencil and user switcher show up fine (perhaps this is due to the fact that on the lockscreen, the notifications themselves don't live in the shade as they do when the device is unlocked).
It also seems like older OOS versions didn't enforce that icon minimum, so if you only had, say 4 icons (not sure who would do that), then did an upgrade, you would have this strange behavior.
