Any way to enable Quick Reply on stock ROM? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

I miss this feature coming from CM10.1 on my Moto Atrix 4G. Any way to get it on my SGS4?
Quick Reply, meaning you can reply to a text while using an app.

Bringing in other apps

So, I just got a Droid Incredible and I love it overall but there's a few things I don't like. For starters, I don't really like the messaging app. I really like the stock Android messaging app. So my question is, if I brought over the messaging.apk file from another phone, could I install it on my Incredible? I want to do this with the messaging app and the music app. Thanks!

I don't know the answer to that question but I will say that I really like the Handcent app that you can get from the market.
Thanks for the reply. I have tried both handcent and Chomp and I don't really like those either. I really like the stock Android one. Thanks though!

[Q] Rooted the X, now what?

I know this has probably been asked before...but I'm a noob and couldn't find anything in the search.
I've rooted my Froyo X using doroot just for the wifi tethering. I want to know what other uses there are for a rooted phone.
Can I change the notifications so they're unique to the event? I get the same sound for a text and when I plug in the cable.

First check out the Droid X Wiki for some nice guides and info on what you can do with your newly unlocked device.
And to answer your last question... you can do that without being rooted. Just go into any app that sends you notifications.. and in the settings of THAT app... you can change which notification sound it plays when that particular app notifies you.

Oh cool. Thanks for the info and the n00b guide. I just got the X a couple of days ago and came from an omnia winmo6.1 so this is all new to me. I fkn love this phone/interface so much more intuitive.
Does anyone know if there are more TV apps like TV.com?
Former i910er myself... It was a huge difference jumping from all this omnia roms to this. Also loving my X... Love it when girls say how big it is...

Sorry...I mean it worked in the sense that you can make calls, but texting was a chore and navigating through contacts, making appointments was next to impossible without the stylus...which I promply lost after getting my 910.

Ok, I have to give you that. The default WM 6.1 was a HUGE pain
It was much better after upgrading to WM 6.5.3
I used Thumbcal to replace the calendar, and Swype made typing easier

[Q] Vibrant Contacts Setup?

Just a quick question, is there any way to make it so the contact list in my phone is like on the vibrant? As in I can slide my finger to the left to message someone and to the right to call them?

I missed that feature. It'd be awesome if we could have it on the MT4G. Maybe a TouchWiz port?
Yea I would be down for that. It was a great feature. I miss it and its only been a day since I switched haha.

Didn't see a thread in the Dev. Section. I'm running this ICS ROM and noticed that when I receive any type of notifications my led light doesnt work. Anyone running this ROM and having this issue?

I love it so far, it has both the Camera and Video working. I havent noticed any FC's yet. Netflix doesnt work. You get sound but no video. Also I noticed that there are 2 LED lights on the EVO. The one on the Left (the one that I was use to blinking for Notifications and Charging) and there is one on the Right side as well. I noticed that one blinks when I get a message..
On AOSP, the one on right lighting for notification is normal. One on left for charging.

Thanks I noticed that... I have been on Sense ROMS since I've had the phone (Launch Day) I didn't even know that Light existed.. hahaha
I see that you're running AOKP ICS how do you like that. Also what are you doing for Voicemail. Everytime I get one I get a Text from number 9016 saying to call a certain number. Is there a way to VVM working on ICS I tried restore VVM from a TB backup (Like I did to get it to work on a Sense 3.5 ROM) but it still didn't work.
ICS ROM
Can you provide a link to the ROM you are using?

No VVM for ICS ROMs yet. We need an ICS version of Sprint's VVM app, which we won't get until Sprint releases an ICS device.
Alternatives are Google Voice and YouMail.

I'm desperate for this one too. Quick settings take too much real estate. Galaxy note 8 came up with clever way, quick settings move up and disappear as you scroll down the notifications. I need something like that!!!

Hi.. I've kinda abbandoned this, since I haven't use TW roms in quite a while.
Moving on to do mods for roms I have the source code to, instead of all this reverse enginering.

Fair enough. Sadly you were the only one to provide such a mod. I am currently back to TW and I really hate toggles in my notifications.
