Looking for Hercules tester - Galaxy S II General

I am looking for people to attempt flashing my ROMs and to see if they boot, I do not own a Samsung Galaxy S2 for T-Mobile (aka Hercules) so a volunteer would be greatly appreciated.
Requirements:
None really, I prefer these to be tested on twrp recovery but if you want to flash on a different one go ahead.
I am essentially building aftermarket ROMs such as CyanogenMod or Liquidsmooth from source and modifying it to my liking. I only wish to know if the ROM boots for now and do not need any additional testing.
Current projects:
LiquidCore (a Liquidsmooth based ROM)
Download here:
http://speedcore.crackflasher.com/roms/_h5ai.sg2testing/
Please inform me of results either on here or through gtalk.

[REQUEST] For PA 3.0 and aokp 4.2 port/ build

Hi there
As u all may know PA 3.0 got released for nexus prime 7,10,4 along with the source. So i was hoping someone could bring this beautiful rom to our devices..
for some info :
news : http://www.xda-developers.com/android/paranoid-android-3-released-for-four-nexus-devices/
source : https://github.com/paranoidandroid
Also wanted to know if there's any pure AOKP 4.2 rom ...
Thanks
I second this motion!
I would love for PA 3.0 to be ported to this awesome tab
Official and unofficial PA members are plenty. So i guess eventually we'll get it.

AFAIK there's no source ported to run on tab2 yet, but it's meaning of time.
Why? Cause now PA is based in AOSP instead of CM. But as I said before, it's just meaning of time.
Yeah...it would be great to have the rom!
Why is there no AOSP 4.2.X rom for tab 2
Hi there
I wanted to know why is there no 4.2.X AOSP rom cuz aosp and cm combo roms are some of the best roms integrating the features of both of them.
Yet even on AOSP site there is no 4.2.X release.. which means there is no AOSP 4.2.X support for tab2 .... correct me if i'm wrong.
Hope this helps

1)The galaxy tab 2 is not an aosp device this forces devs to have to modify the source code in order for the device specific things to work like drivers
2) the cyanogenmod team does most of it's initial testing on samsung devices that's why we have CM roms
If someone more knowledgeable than me comes around feel free to correct me
ya ... i heard that psycodelico , who shared the latest 2.99 currently doesnt have linux machine so we may wait till he get one . or somebody will develop it
So anybody developing aokp/paranoid android for tab 2???

If anyone else can help test this ROM out, it would be appreciated. It's nice to have a dev(s) willing to put time in to P31XX...especially with something as nice as PA. (Just Sayin')

[Q] Looking for ROM advice.

Hi all.
I just recently got my Sprint Galaxy S4 and yesterday I successfully rooted it using Chanfire's auto-root and then installed the custom bootloader using GooManager. Everything worked well and I'm all set there.
I'm currently "in the market" for a decent and stable ROM compatible with the S4. I'm not a developer, so I'm not really interested in experimental ROMs that could potentially be unstable.
I'm looking for something solid, user friendly, that will increase phone performance while still letting me do the stuff I love.
Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Forcerom but honestly the most stable will be stock ROM

TouchWiz is the stock Samsung launcher.
When you flash a TouchWiz ROM you will typically retain most of the "gimmicky" features that the S4 came with (IR blaster, air sensors, etc.) You may also notice better battery life on TouchWiz ROMs until AOSP is better calibrated for the S4. (Some may disagree with this, I personally see better battery life on my S4 on a TouchWiz ROM.)
AOSP means Android Open Source Project, which just means it's barebones vanilla android with no manufacturer skin/overlay over the top.
These are typically run by people who want a pure stock android experience.

My suggestion....read the OP of each ROM and decide what is right for YOU. No one likes the same exact features as you.
Then make a backup and try each candidate for a day. Don't like it? Restore your backup and try another.
You will never regret giving Blu Kuban a try.

[Q] If i have the kernel source code and AOSP, how to make my own ROM for my device

Hello, everyone.
I have downloaded the kernel source code(HTC One) and android source code, and I have compiled them successfully.
But I don't know how to use the file(zImage, system.img, etc) to make a ROM for my HTC one, is there a step-by-step tutorial to make it?
Thank you.
supplement
I want to know what has CyanogenMod done and how to do it.
If anybody know, may you give me a hand?
Thank you.
Why not built a CM rom for your HTC one? you would learn much from building CM rom.
Only kernel and aosp source are not enough to cook a custom rom, because there are many device specified properity binary files are need (such as ril, graphics, wifi)

As with roms, head over to the development sections, read some threads (the first page/last 10 pages will give you flashing instructions, features, user experiences with recent builds), flash some kernel/try some out.
Thread closed.
What is the best kernel for one person may not be the best kernel for you depending on how you use the phone. Therefore the only way to find out what is the best kernel for you is to try a few.

Nexus S 4G

Looks like our devices are finally dead. Time to Upgrade
I'll wait for a (stable) KK ROM before agreeing ;+)

lol, well the Nexus S 4G Developing Forum is pretty much dead except for the avatar rom really. I saw a couple people trying to get a stable 4.3 working but that was weeks ago. as for 4.4 i read that someone said you can use the Crespo version but you have to change a couple things and even with those changes it barely works
Yeah, this is a sad thing... If I had more time I'd try to build something...

I'm attempting to build CM11 for crespo4g right now.
We'll see how this goes.
I'm anticipating I'll run into at least as many issues as are plaguing the crespo. Plus WiMAX hasn't been working on any 4.3 builds, so I doubt we'll have it either. I'll post it here when I'm done, don't think I have enough cred on xda to post on the 4g dev section

CM 10.2 is very active. Getting Nightly updates, but it runs a little slow.
CM10.3, KK, should be better.

I forked CyanogenMod's CM10.2 crespo4g repo, and added a couple changes to update storage for KitKat, but most of the device specific stuff draws from the crespo tree, which is already at version 11.0 in CM's sources. I'm gonna try to start a build right now. I'll let you guys know how it goes. I'll also open a thread in the ns4g dev section as soon as I can.
If anyone wants to contribute code/tips/general know-how to this project it would be greatly appreciated. Also since I'm working from the 10.2 codebase, I expect the WiMax issue to carry over. That's something I'm willing to work on when I get it booting.
I also tried a dirty port from this discontinued crespo rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2526740. It just bootloops.
Here's my repo. Feel free to fork/make pull requests/etc...

can't help with building it but i can be the first to try it when you're done...
My thoughts would be to edit the bootclass path in the kernel from the nexus s ROM to work for the nexus s 4g, as well as whatever else code is important in the kernel, then get it booting since in order to dirty port a ns ROM to the ns4g all you have to do is swap kernels and then you'll have basic functionality, but that's my two cents, I could be missing something important idk

Just installed adityaxavier's unofficial CM11. Everything is working, including WiFi to 3G switchover (which wouldn't work in any CM10.2 build or Slimbean 4.3 build).
Wimax 4g is not yet working, but that is a minor issue for most.
I hope the Nexus S 4G development won't die out any time soon. This NS4G is my first smartphone, and I use it as a wifi only device. It was a friend's old phone, donated to me. I also have an original Motorola Droid (also from another friend's old phone stash), which I rooted and modded with custom ROMs and stuff. The Droid is now my little brother's first smartphone (also wifi-only). It's been a great learning experience, AND we get useful devices to use too! It's why I love it here at XDA so much.
NOT Dead! Because I found a few "newer", great ROMs to try out still. ROMs I tried and thoughts:
- adityxavier's unofficial CM 11, build 11 --> great, fast, smooth; but I get those errors prompts saying "process com.phone.android stopped working" after boot up. I tried a clean install, as well as a dirty install after factory reset. Still getting those errors.
- jc4gavejc's AOSP 4.4 for Nexus S 4G --> same as above, but also very simplistic, lean, and clean-looking, which I loved. I would've kept this ROM if not for the same error prompts "process com.phone.android stopped working"; or "process com.messaging.android stopped working". I'm beginning to think my phone can't handle 4.4 builds somehow.
- Slim Bean 4.3 --->fast, smooth, stable, minimalistic-looking, with none of the extra features that I'd likely not use anyways. I'm using it now as my stable ROM until I see a working android 4.4 that I can try out again.
- Helly Bean 4.3 -->Also a fast and stable ROM on my crespo4g device. Lots of extra features from Paranoid Android, which I don't really use. My stock battery charging animation disappears with this one. It seems to power on during charging, even after I turn it off.
- Official CM 10.2 --> easiest to install b/c of the cminstaller, but noticeably slower than the above custom ROMs.
Once I have enough posts, and clearance to do so, I'll post these comments, with more details, in their appropriate threads, to help give feedback on the ROMs I tried. Thanks to all the developers that spent time and efforts on these!
