Korea china? Are there many i9505's made in Korea or are they all made in china? The Korean phones are usually more sought after and have better quality. Just wondering if we should expect these to be from china. That isn't my only concern. I'd rather buy Korean anyways because Samsung is investing a lot of money here and creating jobs. Blue and white collar jobs at that.

If u are talking about manufacturing area then its Korea for now. but u can check at the package while buying the mobile.

My GS4 is made in China.... should I worry?
Not really. Unless you're OCD. Koreans phones are usually binned better and less likely to go out the door with obvious defects.

ON the outer cover that covers the box. On the sticker with the barcode, IMEI etc. Right at the bottom. In relatively big letters. Made in China.
My I9500 did not come with the outer cover, but Tmobile version did.
On I9500 the stickers were on the main box itself and it said imported from Vietnam.
On Tmobile, the white sticker was on the outside cover and inside box had 2 plastic seals on either side.
i9505 from Vietnam here.
So how are the Vietnam models in relation to build and display quality? Everybody's screen look good or have slight flaws that you can live with? My T-Mobile version from china has a two tone screen. In portrait mode the left half is darker. Wasn't a big deal until I notice black crash in darker videos and bottom half of screen was less detailed. Other than that, everything else about the phone is great. Reception is just a hair less than my gnote2 it seems. My gnote2 seems to get great reception like my Nokia and moto phones did. It sucks though that there might be a flaw in the amoled displays cracking underneath the gorilla glass.

My S4 is flawless.
When it comes to screen it's perfect. Brightness is same everywhere, no tints or any problem with pixels.
Only thing that bothers me little bit is smearing/ghosting but everyone has that and it should be fixed now with new update.

Hi all, long time lurker here, decided to go out and contribute more.
So, as the title, I'm just curious since I bought mine during the launching event. I received 32gb 3g version with bunch of freebies, such as, official case, usb+sd card plug, desktop stand, and 6 months of free unlimited datas (not calls).
When I checked at the back, it says that it's "made in korea". Which is something that I don't notice on my GNote. So, this make me wonder whether the early batches are shipped directly from Korea, or was it just for a few select countries?
There is nothing written on mine regarding where it's made, only that it's made by Samsung
It's a 16gb WiFi and 3g bought online in Denmark

If the GS2 was any indication, I would say that, contrary to what one may be inclined to think, the screen quality of the units made in Korea is below what I have seen elsewhere.
In particular, my 7.7 was "Made by Samsung in Vietnam" and I have had no screen issues whatsoever.
Actually, come to think of it, I have had zero issues with my whole 7.7 in every respect at this point! No lag at all, no screen issues, excellent battery life, premium build quality, etc.
So, kudos and +1 to the fine people of Samsung Vietnam! They seem to be doing a pretty darned good job!
I just hope that the Samsung folks being treated better than poor the Foxconn slaves *ahem* I mean "workers" making iPads...

Could be, we dont really know where our screens are actually made until they are opened up.. when I had my Note's screen replaced the screen had a different marking behind its shell.

When I looked under the battery cover of my I9505, it doesnt say any country name, it just says "MADE BY SAMSUNG".
The strange thing is, this is a replacement for another i9505, that I returned (mainly) for a rattling volume rocker and the headphone crackling issue. That previous S4 ALSO said "MADE BY SAMSUNG" under the battery cover, no mention of a country on either of these two devices, nor on their boxes. I'll be returning this S4, because it has the same issues but with the added bonus of a dead black pixel, chip on the chrome rim and it gets extremely hot, much more so than the previous model.
Does anyone else's S4 say "Made by Samsung"? Googled it but they all seem to made in either China or Korea or Vietnam...
S4 is on O2 network in U.K.
my GS3 says made in china by samsung
so check your bootloader if its not chinese bootloader ur good to go

no it's just in which of samsung's factory it has been made
My i9505 is "made by samsung" and my s3 also same.
Thanks God i don't have any problems with none of them.
So far i didn't experience nothing from what i see here on forum, just the purple smearing which doesn't bother me at all.
Everything is smooth and is on MDM which was out of the box.
Has anybody tried buying one of the third party battery doors off of Ebay and using it with a Sprint variant? They all say they're made for the International variant, but I don't know how different the housing of the hardware is between the phones.
There shouldn't be any difference. I'm not saying there isn't. I bought a battery door off eBay from a guy in Florida that was for the sprint version. The reason I liked it was because there was no carrier branding on it. I don't know if the guy is still selling them, I didn't look.
If it is the back cover just go for it. There shouldn't be any difference
But if your going for full casing I would advice against buying the international version because I've never seen the guts of either and since they have different processors I'll just guess the guts have different sizes/shapes

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I did order the housing in the end. Should be here in about 10 days, so I'll post whether or not it works then, if anybody's interested.

Maybe it's on your manual or something, but in some countries it is not necessary to tell the costumer where the device was made in.
You can also try the app phone info samsung.
I just find the samsung devices made in Korea has even a better quality than apple devices.
usually made in Korea > made in China > made in Vietnam, but Samsung (or exactly the Samsung's factories) usually decide to sell worse devices made in China to Chinese, because China's law on protection of consumer is a joke
I boughted my SM-P900 off Amazon (usa), and it was apparently maded "in Vietnam by Samsung."
I've been quite happy with it, no issues. It feels solid and sturdy, although, I tend to baby new electronics for the first year or so. I got one of the Samsung book cover cases and a zagat screen protector (which is awesome, btw), and put both on immediatly after taking it out of the box.
So far, this tab appears to be much more solid and well built than my old asus TF700T, that's for sure. I still want one of those dual booting asus trio whatever. Google made asus scrap the duet, but they just came out with a better, more expensive dual boot convertible and called it a "trio."

On a sticker on the box. Or possibly by looking up some sort of serial or batch number and comparing it to some list that may or may not exist somewhere. If you're dying to know, you coukd call Samsung, I'm sure they could tell you. Most likely it's either China or Vietnam. I doubt it was made many other places.
Bought at Best Buy in Canada. Made in Vietnam.
I bought my P-901 from Cairo, Egypt and it is made in Vietnam By Samsung. Its quality is good but the silver borders are ugly.

Still not as ugly as the bezel on the Galaxy s5. It's hideous. If you get an s5, you better have a case to immediately throw that sucker in.
P905 LTE Black, Bought in Germany (Media Markt Nordhorn), no information on country of production.
Almost no device in the EU has that information on it. I spend 6 hours looking for it regarding my Note 3. No luck.
Quality is excellent, as I'm used to from EU devices.
What we established a few years ago is that legal quality demands in the EU are MUCH higher than in the US. A fact I've run into more and more often with newer devices. US devices had issues with creaking cases, loose screens, extreme light bleed, colour issues, loose buttons.. For the TF700T the entire US batch had these issues, including a quickly-breaking hinge, whereas the EU ones did not. Part of it is the legal laws, as our quality certifications are MUCH higher, and another part is our return policy. Where US shops easily accept a device that was used for 2 weeks back when the user 'dislikes it'. For us in the EU, the only way to do that after opening the box is if there's a factory defect. Used = No Return.
SM-P905 LTE. Purhased online from Negri Electronics. Fed Ex paperwork says Made in Korea.
In the Netherlands
Bought my P900 from Trendy Computers (Netherlands) for € 608,00. Works fine, no creaking case, almost no screenbleeding, I am a happy owner. Can't find any information about about where it is made.
made in Brazil
Mine is from Brazil made in the Samsung factory in Manaus the first one I got hat the silver part damaged near the power button the metal was gonna an u could see the plastic inside revealing that the metal isn't metal just a thing covering the plastic inside
So I changed worried that over time the silver plater could go loosing more and more of the silver finish the second one has the finish perfect but at first use the vibration sound was weird the stopped not sure why it seems xda has relates about similar issues in other people's tablets too it was like if my vibration was more strong Than most... really loud ...
As it has stopped I kept the device change things in Brazil is not easy even when broken they don't want give u a new but fix the broken I think mine warms a bit near bellow the camera location on normal use web browsing etc it gets 33 Celsius 90 f
What is the temp of yours ?
I bought my Black P905 in Germany (Base/Provider), yesterday i root my Device.. Yeeaahh
Bought in USA made in Vietnam.
Quality seems fine, kinda hard to judge with such a large plastic device, but no noise or uneven seems.
While at Best Buy i noticed that the display model flexed when picked up from a corner, after mentioning this to the Best Buy associate standing next to me, he took the tablet and proceeded to bend it, quite forcefully. The tablet bent what appeared to be between 3/8 and 1/2 in. across its width, with no damage, i was pretty impressed. Thats not to say I am going to show this feature off to friends but its nice to know it won't fall apart if treated a little rough.

I haven't heard or read the last one. All of samsung product is made by samsung, you won't find galaxy note 4 made by apple or sony. x.x
I believe that is their strategies to reduce shipping cost and import taxes in some country..
Later, you will also find made in indonesia because samsung has plan to make their factory in indonesia. But still don't know when that will happened and what they made in the factory, it can be their phone, tablet, tv, home appliances, etc.

I can't tell you for sure, all samsung phone and tablet that comes to my country is made in vietnam, but it should be no difference if they have good quality controls.
But as far as I read here (for note 4 ,correct me if I'm wrong), device made in vietnam have better screen curvature so TG will fit easily, I only bought 1 TG and has no halo since day 1, not like most people over here that already bought many TG.
And I also never have to return my device like few peoples experienced over this forum, so maybe I'm just lucky, or device that made in vietnam has best quality control.
And that is my experience with my old s4, my dad note 3, my note 8.0 tablet, my gf s5, and my note 4. Never had hardware issue until now, and all of them is made in vietnam.
That's just my experience though, need confirmation and experience from people that get product made by samsung factories in other country.
