Hello fellows,
I'm asking to you if exists any mod for Nexus 4 which could extend the power menu to include some additional toggles, like WiFi, Mobile Data, Bluetooth and such. I've already searched here on xda without success. I'm on CM 10.1 and I see there is the possibility to edit that menu, like they added Profiles and Extended desktop entries. As example I'm attaching the modded extended power menu of a Galaxy S3.
Thank you for your attention.

AFAIK I've never seen any non-touchwiz rom do that. I've been with android since the donut phase and i've never seen anything like that.
Perhaps you could take up the task and code it

Look in Apps and Themes for all mods http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1913. Plenty of toggle apps available though.

That's what I suspected I'll try to investigate CM source to see if I manage to sort out something. Thanks anyway for your answer!

Thanks, but I've referred only to Power Menu toggles, not some widget or notification area ones

Hi Guys,
Anyone ran into an app that let you control the (running) music player from the locked screen like the I-Phone does it? (back / pause / fwd)
I tried the app Lock2.0 but don't like it because its just a work around the actual problem, with way to much other BS. I think you will need root access in order to implement it properly (might be wrong)
Thanks for the help.
If I could write a app that would be the first thing I would try
The new CyanogenMod ROM have option where you can long press volume keys to control the music player. Pretty nifty.

What version? I updated yesterday to the latest version of CyanogenMod ROM and I tried your suggestion but can not get it working from the locked screen.
Do you have to activate it some where?
Thanks

No settings have to be changed. Just have to long press. You can't pause (that I know of), but next and previous track work.
Hey guys
anyone who can tell me how to change the controls of the htc lockscreen so that the "menu" button doesn't unlock the tattoo? Is it possible at all?
thx in advance for your answers
Pottkopp
there is not a official option for that maby a hack but i never seen it
I'm interested in this too. I keep unlocking the phone when it's in my pocket then call random people and whatnot.
There is one app called Lockbot Pro.. try it.
tried it and I think that this app is very big but thats not the problem the problem is that it's also very slowly loading the clock.. rly no other way than using other apps? I like the htc lockscreen except of that enerving "menu" unlocking..
I can try to port the hack for nexus, but I'm not sure that I can get it to work... anyone would be interested?
I am! you'd be my hero if you get it to work! what's the lockscreen on the nexus looking like? or you only port the hack?
i'll try and port the hero mod aswell
where you get the code for this? maybe I can try something, too
Last evening I managed to reboot my phone into recovery mode and erase it. All in the pocket of my jacket!
That button is evil...
wow thats very bad.. till now I had luck with it so that I lost no data or money because it started apps that require wifi because i disabled mobile data connections but I hate taking it out of my pocket and seeing the display enabled and that the battery is low.. and I think I'm speaking (or writing ) out the thoughts of every user in this moment when I say someone MUST change this
Two pages in this thread and no solution yet, but the simplest solution is just to buy a proper hard case, like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I have one of those (similar but cheaper) and never had any problem with unlock.
I have H24 my tattoo in my pocket without nothing, and it doesn't wake up alone...
What can I say? I live a more active life..
..any news? pls post your progress
I looked at a few lock screen replacement apps but they all sucked.
They're either unstable or slow... or both.
I also looked at the API but I can't code. The menu key is KEY_SOFT1 or code 229. I'm guessing this needs to be disabled in the HtcLockScreen.apk app? There's no source code for it anyway
that's where baksmali comes into the picture ;D
What about the Google lockscreen? Isn't there a source code for that one? Or for the lockscreens of those custom roms..
Mod. edit: not dev related, moved to general
no news about that problem???

Sorry, I want a widget to provide "power manager" wireless, data, etc. But in Others roms android "evo" etc, this widget is in the sliding window where is the battery, as a way to put it in froyo?
I'm not quite sure what you mean, but does this help at all?
It allows you to place shortcuts to apps in the notification bar which you can access by dragging it down.

this is what I'm looking for, in the notification bar, sorry for not expressing myself better before, so it was that simple notification bar. thanks
I think that's part of the Cyanogen mods. I can't be 100% sure it's in all of them, but I know it's in the hd2one build.

You're right. The 'power widget in the notification bar' is included in Cyanogenmod 6.1 and up, and can't be flashed seperately. A decent CM based build for the HD2 is HD2ONE ROM. It's currently my daily driver .
The easiest way to check a phone about its various functions or failure of such function is to use its own embedded testing .apk
How to access them is not normally Known to many
All you have to do is
1) Long Press your Desktop
2) Touch shortcuts
3) Touch Activities
4) And you can select activity of any application on your phone ( which has its own pulled down menu to chose from)
By selecting one you will have a shortcut of it placed in your desktop
so all you have to do is now touch that shortcut and its appropriate menu will open for you to test or select from
see screen-shots below
Assuming you have problems with USB connections, Blue tooth, WIFI, Network settings, whatever your phone is supposed to do, can be checked this way including running a ping test etc

If you are using XDA App or Tapatalk, long press on the post and select :good: Thanks Its easier to give "Feedback" in this manner than make an additional post.
Direct shortcuts to activities can be quite useful. One of my main uses is to get access to the fullscreen feeds and updates widget (there is also an activity that allows you to select a few themes for it).
You do however need a launcher such as Launcherpro or Apex launcher installed to get this in the shortcut menu.
Thankyou so much for this insight, I spent 2 years wondering what this option was for and it never crossed my mind to actually try it

Miui allowed mixing of various components like icon pack, status bar, luck screen etc in themes previously. But now customise option only comes one when we clear the Theme app's data then disappears. Any solution to this?

Try force stop theme app from settings and then clear data and disable internet connection on the phone(important!!!).Reopen theme app with no internet,after enable internet,choose customize and you will have access to all features,but you will need to make this procedure every time,when you will want to change something.
Yeah that's exactly what I'm doing for changing individual items. Maybe an update would solve it. Anyone can check whether it happened on the previous MIUI version of RN3?

Umm..wouldn't Clearing Data remove all the downloaded themes? What's the point of customize then?

No it doesn't remove the themes. Just some settings and the cache.
