How can i upgrade to 4.1.2 my lg optimus L5 ??? Can you give me step by step instructions ?? Thank you !
Requirements
You need the device drivers which can be downloaded from our drivers page.
Download V20a firmware (Jelly Bean).
Download KDZ Updater (Unzip the files and make sure you run msxml file while you install the KDZ updater).
Make sure you have backed up all data on your phone using our data backup guide because this process will wipe all data on your phone.
Steps to Update LG Optimus L5 to Jelly Bean
Run KDZ udpater (KDZ_FW_UPD.exe) as admin.
Select Type as 3GQCT and phone mode as Emergency as shown below:
Ignore the .kdz file in screenshot
Connect your phone to PC in download mode. To do this, press and hold Volume down button while connecting it to the USB that is connected to the PC already.
Once your phone is in download mode, select the V20a KDZ file in the KDZ Updater.
Click on “Launch Software button’.
The Jelly Bean firmware will now be flashed to your phone.
The initial boot takes too long usually. But if you seem to be stuck on the boot scree, you can perform a hard reset by removing and re-inserting the battery and then press and hold Volume down + Center button + Power button together. This will reset your phone.
Can i unroot it and reset factory setings ???
Thank you very much for answering me ! One question. If i root my phone and do stuff like upgrading to 4.1.2 is there any way to reset everything to factory ? Unroot it and go back to 4.0.3 For warranty ?????

---------- Post added at 02:12 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:10 AM ----------

JB is the 4.1.2 version for an Android device [ ICS is 4.0.3] and OTA mean Over The Air, is that thing when you go setting-about phone- update software . This is an OTA update.
Ok so...

So JB means Jelly Bean ??? So 4.1.2 is jelly bean android version and not Ice Cream Sandwich ? And why is Jelly Bean faster than ICS on this phone ? (L5)
Sorry for so many questions but i've been 3 years now with iPhone 3gs and android looks sooooo hard for me right now. I'm trying to learn how to use it as good as i can and try to understand how it works (rooting etc ) .
Thank you very much for answering so fast !
Yes , Jelly Bean is 4.1.2 android version and is faster than the ICS 4.0.3
Why? Because those guys from Android made a faster version for the android , this means an upgrade.

I already updated my galaxy tab 2 GT-P3100 to jellybean update(leaked and got from XDA-developers.com ) but now I am thinking to update CWM update to this device and want to extend ROM and root the device....
I got a CWM update by Odin and many other options from the net and XDA-developers But That was old and was a CWM update for ICS 4.0.3/4 ...But I already updated it to JellyBean 4.1.1 so I think that old update will not work...
So please anyone help me to do this Update... If anybody have any information about CWM update for root the device Galaxy GT-P3100 and on 4.1.1 JellyBean OS then inform me...
Thank You..

I tried with the lg support tool but I get the message: you have the last version installed on your device
My version of course is ICS 4.0.3 - V10e
just a small question,
For the country have you set it for Algeria?
I just updated my LG G3 D855 to V10l-IND-XX (from V10j) via LG Mobile Support Tool. This update is still not available Over The Air. As usual LG Mobile Support Tool downloaded whole software (KDZ), about 1.19 GB and then updated the phone with it. Fortunately no phone data was lost by the update process (in contrast to what LG Support Tool predicted). After the software download, the actual update process took only a few minutes. As for the change-log of this update - I have not still noticed anything new or changed, only the battery performance seems to improve a bit.
Note - If you are going to update your phone via LG Support Tool then make sure to run it as Administrator in Windows. I did not do it and got the error "Unable to extract software archive, check your PC settings and try again". Frustrated, I had to repeat the whole process again. Also your Windows installation drive must have at least 8-9 GB free space (required for downloading and extracting software files), otherwise Support Tool will give error.
Thanks for the info.. :good:

The possibilities of a soft brick cannot be ruled out. Especially of you have custom recovery installed as well.

Hello everyone.. thank you so much for reading me..
To be brief.. I'm looking for the V10a firmware for LG P714 II (The jelly bean one)(from telefonica Guatemala, it's under central america) and I just can't found it.. seems all the links gone dead.. and I have tried all the links on this page (supposedly the lg one) without luck...
Why? Because I updated that thing to the KitKat (but p710) and it's just not as fast as I imagine.. it's faster the jelly bean (at least for me, in my phone)(maybe because it's not a truly update for my model.. and I just want to go back... )
Lg p714 II (LG L7 II)
looking for the jelly bean firmware LG P714(V10a) the 10b,c just doesn't work
thank you

¡¡ Solution !!
Well after a couple of tries, and days.. I've finally found the solution to restore (even cooler) and downgrade to jellybean from kitkat on LG Optimus (prime)(hahahahaha couldn't resist) P714
The trick is this (at least in my case, or if you're in central america or any Latin country (but you can try any of the firmware you have)(that was the only one that worked for me, and I've tried almost all of them)
Using the LG Flash tool 2014 Flash your phone with the Jelly Bean firmware (not the A20 or something that's kitkat) the A10,B10,C10 etc.. I highly recommend the one from "PANAMA" because that's a clean firmware !!!! ( to be clear, CLEAN firmware) no company attached (Like I said, that was the answer for me !!)
Go here, and grab them before they gone dead.. .
http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=21
The one that worked for me was the D10 P714 (From Panama)
Use the LG Flash tool as normal, an on "phone mode" choose DIAG
Let it work it's magic..
I will reboot.. and obvioulsy after a few minutes should have started to sync.. and because we're downgrading, that's just not going to happen.. it will display the "LOGO" forever.. (but because its a clean firmware it will display only the LG logo hehehe)
So, reset the phone using the power and the middle big button.. then keep pressing and also press - "minus" volume when it power up, release the power button... and keep pressing the middle one and vol - eventually the android logo will appear, release the buttons and the factory reset backup will begin..
Enter your language, name... google account (to back up everything) and you're done ! hehehe.. You have your precious Jelly Bean back.
Hope this helps.
Please upload V10D KDZ

Hello mate. Thank you for the instructions, they were very helpful! Just to tell you also that I found another clean KDZ to flash! (Using LG Flashtool 2014, in emergency mode. Really easy!)
It worked for my L7 II P714. Now I have a clean stock JellyBean rom without the silly customizations from the Operator.
This L7 II has a very nice camera!
I got the clean JB KDZ from here:
HTML:
JellyBean V10E_00

It's from Panama, also.
Cheers.

Glad it worked mate, sorry I couldn't reply sooner. Thanks for posting the link that you found. I formatted my pc, so as for the software, I would have to check my backup hd. (Awesome, from Panama too..)
Keep Smiling.
Yeah. It's a very nice backup device this L7 II
And it's got the most awesome camera found in a cheap smartphone! It's almost as good as my G2's * -*
Cheers.

Yea, i'll stick with a custom ROM instead of this oficial update (that [email protected]!)
They are so late that i'm sure SaberMod, BlissPop, etc are better optimized.
Has anyone confirmed this to work on the XT1039? I assume it wouldn't be possible due to different LTE bands?
EDIT: Comparing the bands, it seems like there's little to no difference between the XT1040 and the XT1039, I assume like the Falcon, we wouldn't be able to restore to an older firmware via fastboot if we flashed this
Congrats motorola, it's been just 6 damn months.

Yea, motorola took so long to bring it that i'm kind of glad as it made me try custom roms and the work all the teams make on the ROMs is amazing.

Hello , i make all steps , but when i flash ota 5.1 with custom recovery i get error , and installation aborted
help please
Hello,
I took a captured OTA of a 5.1 Lollipop ROM and when I launch the update process, I also get an error, it says that the fingerprint is not the version expected. But I have the KXB21.14-L1.56 as mentioned in the error message.
But I have an other question, why flash the 4.4.3 instead of directly the 4.4.4 version of the ROM ?
Thank you.
Hello again,
Yesterday I could update my XT1039 to Lollipop 5.1 via OTA on a fresh install of a 4.4.4 KitKat version. I just had to go in Google Play and to update the Motorola update service.
After the update, I could see that the build number of the update was LPB23.13-17 and the System Version is 23.21.17, different from the 21.11.56 of the captured OTA given here, which gave me the error.
I hope this helps.
Cheers!
