I flashed the Team Win Recovery Project 2.5.0.3 on stock rom yesterday and now android begun to lag, so I tried to reboot It an now I'm stuck on the bootscreen with the Galaxy S4 logo...
Recovery and download mode still works. I also tried a full wipe but there I get this error:
Code:
E: error: opening /data/data
E: error: I/O error
Maybe caused by FolderMount or such apps, which I tested some days ago?
Does someone know a solution?
I'll try to flash the stock rom again with Odin, as soon as the rom is downloaded...1.6gb
Perhaps you deleted or edited something by accident. So if you boot into recovery and try wipe data/factory reset you get an error? Usually with a bootloop wiping the data and reflashing a stock ROM worked well. Try flash the stock ROM and then try wipe data/factory reset then see if you can boot fine.

Well, I flashed now the stock rom and first I did a data wipe, which worked fine and then I tried to wipe the cache, but the process crashed with a dead droid(?). The phone has automaticly rebootet now and android seems to work fine. Is this a good or bad sign? ^^

Can't install Roms using the Rom Manager due to it just stopping at the recovery. I would have to install it manually. Even then the rom doesn't install correctly. Also having issues with Android Market. I think my cache is screwed up on the phone because any settings I do, when the phone reboots it loses everything. Any help would be appreciated.

I am getting the same thing. I can't restore a backup I did an hour earlier because of this error. When I try to wipe the data I am getting:

Then when I try to restore my backup it freezes at

I was able to successfully wipe the cache some how on a fluke and my restore finished successfully but then I was in a loop with the recovery bootloader and I couldn't get Android to boot up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, having a different issue. I was able to cleanly clear the cache and restore my backup successfully but now I am in a loop with the Voodoo Lagfix Recovery. I choose Reboot System Now and it keeps rebooting into Recovery. I also cannot disable the lagfix which I should be able to do within the menu.

Thanks to phidelt82 I was able to use Odin to reflash stock ROM on my phone and it is all working now.
FYI, flashing with Odin, use setting that it starts up with and put the PIT file in the PIT area and the tar.md5 file in the PDA box. Took 2:46 and I was up and running again.

Hi all !
Since yesterday I'm not able to flash any ROM on my I9505. This is what happened.
Yesterday I was flashing a ROM (PACman) and on that ROM I was getting a lot of FC
so I decided to put my previous ROM back on my phone (FoxHound). After the Aroma install,
my phone reboots and keeps stuck at the splash ''Samsung'' logo screen.
This is driving me crazy. I tried to flash different ROMs with no success..
I couldn't boot my phone up, couldn't access recovery, only download mode.
After I flashed a stock firmware with Odin, I can boot up and use my phone properly.
I only can't flash any other ROMs anymore, cause it will cause my phone to keep stuck
at the ''Samsung'' logo..
Someone got a solution? Or is someone having the same problem?

Hi 123hiten,
Thank you for your reply.
- I flashed FoxHound ROM, wiped cache and dalvik cache. No success..
- I did a factory reset, wiped dflashed FoxHound ROM again, wiped cache and dalvik cache. No success.
- I flashed PhilZ recovery, did a wipe data/factory reset, flashed FoxHound ROM again, wiped cache and dalvic cache.. and again no succes..
I didn't understand what u meant in your last sentence with ''plm''?
I tried to flash the PACman ROM again, and it worked, but still I'm getting Force Close when someone calls me or if I'm trying to call someone.
I really dont know what to do now..

I don't know where to see that, but I'm sure it's XXUBMF8.
That's the stock firmware I flashed.

Hi guys,
That is the situation: i was running Purity ROM + ART on my new Nexus 10. I've got the lastest TWRP installed.
Few minutes ago I've decided to flash KT Manta, in order to make some undervolt... but something went wrong...
The flash seems to have been successful, but later, during the chace wipe, the device suddenly turned off. I tried to turn it on, but I was stuck at the loading screen of the rom.
Then I went into recovery, I've tried to wipe chace again, but TWRP fails, and is one of the messages of error "unable to mount /chace."
Fortunately, before flash the kernel, I did a nandroid backup (of evrything except cache, unchecked by default). The restore seems to be successful (success, 135sec time), but I'm still stucked on Purity Loading screen.
So THAT is what can I do:
1 - I can enter fastboot menu
2 - I can enter recovery
3 - My tablet charges normally
But I can not load the ROM. Seems to be a soft brick, but I need your help. Pls: ((
Just flash the factory image. This will wipe the entire device. If you want to backup anything just adb pull fron recovery..
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Woooh i've finally solved it
That's what I've done:
1- Turned off the device for a while
2- Made a factory reset
3- Wiped Chace ---> no errors this time!
4- Wiped Dalvik chace --> no errors here too!
5- Restored the nandroid Backup
Hi,
I am trying to flash the latest CyanogenMod (M11) on my jflte (i9505) device (previously on M8) via the SD card. My install process is as follows:
I factory reset the phone via CWM (6.0.4.7)
I flash M11
I flash pa-gapps pico 20141011
I reboot.
CyanogenMod boots and gets to the set up screen and then errors.

I reboot to recovery factory reset / wipe data and also wipe cache and dalvik for good measure. Reboot and get the same error.
I have also tested this with pa-gapps nano, gapps-kk-20140606-signed.zip and no google apps. All combinations result in the same error as above.
I also tried M10 same problem
resolved by
replacing CWM with TWRP.
booting to recovery
running fix permissions.
reboot to check errors were gone and re-flashed for good measure
Probably the cleanest solution HERE
Hey folks. I'm hitting a brick wall trying to figure out this issue and I'm hoping someone will know how to fix this.
I have a Galaxy Tab A 8 (SM-T350) that I rooted and successfully flashed with first crDroid, then Lineage (both Android 9.0) using TWRP. I had made a backup before attempting this just in case I wanted to revert to stock.
Well, that didn't go as smoothly as I was hoping. Ever since trying to restore my backup, I've been stuck on a continuous boot loop that I can't seem to fix.
I keep getting "E:failed to mount /efs (Invalid argument)" and "dm-verity verification failed. . ." no matter what I try. I've googled the error and tried every solution suggested but I still can't get it to boot.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Ignore the EFS error its probably a red herring. Your issue is dm-verity.
3 ways around it. Return to complete stock, including wiping the data partition or flash root (magisk suggested) or disable dmverity using one of the zips out there.

Thanks for the reply ashyx.
I've done two of the three things you suggested. I've tried returning it to stock using an image matching my exact model, and I've tried disabling dmverity. I've also tried rooting it but using a method other than magisk.
The flash seems to go well enough, but then I get stuck at the Samsung logo whenever I try rebooting into the system.
I've tried waiting, thinking I'm just being impatient, but it doesn't ever seem to get past the logo. I've tried googling ways to fix it being stuck on the logo but nothing I do seems to work. Is there any other way around it?
Side note: I've been able to flash Lineage OS again and might just have to stick with that if I can't flash it back to stock. Do you know any resources for replacing the default apps? I've tried GApps but I was wondering if there's a similar Samsung installer?

You need to wipe the data partition, aka factory reset before or after installing the stock firmware then it will take anything up to 15 mins to boot.

I've tried leaving it for a few hours in hopes that it would boot, but unfortunately it stays stuck on the logo.
Is there a way to check where or why it's getting hung up?

If so try restoring it.

I did and I have been restoring it.
So far, this is what I've attempted:
Flash TWRP (twrp_3.1.0-1_sm-t350_18317.tar using Odin3 v3.10)
Reboot into recovery
Wipe everything from tablet
Format tablet
Reboot into download mode
Flash stock image with Odin
Reboot into recovery
Wipe dalvik cache
Restore backup (including efs partition)
Wipe dalvik cache (again)
Reboot
Get stuck on Samsung logo (left it for hours with no change)

Don't restore everything just EFS No need to keep wiping dalvik it serves no purpose when formatting or wiping the data partition.
Also FORMAT not wipe the data partition (note this wipes internal storage)
If it still doesn't boot install the combo firmware. Let it boot, factory reset from settings then reboot to download mode and install the stock firmware again.
