Only methods i've seen involve root. I'm with Telus and the carrier ID does not show on my lock screen or status bar. Telus didn't brad this phone at all, and only had one bloatware app.
EDIT - Scratch that, I do have Telus at the bottom of lock screen, but not in the status bar. I never noticed it before since I have the S-View cover and rarely see lock screen.

A little clarification, please. Are you talking about having no lock screen, getting rid of puzzle or glass lock for something else, or something else entirely?
No lock screen would be difficult to accomplish. You're best bet would probably be to use no lock in conjunction with Trailblazer's ticker unlock

Or, just his mod. You will need to be on a deodexed version of ec07. That would also solve the issue of getting rid of puzzle/glass lock, as this mod includes aosp reboot options and lock screen.
I know if you disable any security on the lock screen, you can put widgets on it by swiping left and right. The only problem is, when you enable pattern lock or pin or whatever, you cant get widget on the lock screen anymore.. WTF? I know the stock 4.2.2 can get it because my Nexus 7 is able to do it no problem.
Anyone know any tricks around this?
Thanks!
I'm sure there isn't a way, but I figured asking wouldn't hurt. Has anyone found a way to remove the annoying text and lock icon on the lockscreen? I noticed that the AT&T version doesn't have it all, and the Verizon version has just the lock icon. I just find the "Swipe in any direction to unlock" text obnoxious lol. I could live with the lock icon, it's just the text mostly. Trivial I know lol if anyone has noticed a setting I've missed let me know. Thank you

Glad I'm not the only one who hated that. I hope someone figures it out.

I also am wondering if there is a way to get rid of this. It is quite annoying me since it is like right there in the middle of the screen
(T-Mo) G2 lockscreen is a bit of a mess, yes. not to mention that some of the swiping effects inverse the color randomly (and appear black) for no reason. to use a custom lockscreen wouldn't be a good idea either because then you lose the double tap to power it off from the lockscreen. i presume we would need an xposed module mod for all this.
Is there anyway to remove the service provider on my lock screen? I have the tmobile version D801 and it is rooted. I want to enjoy my minimalistic lock screen but the words are bugging me ): Thanks for any help!!
Hi all,
A newbie question to the Android experts. I have read in many forums that a rooted device is needed in order to change and/or customize status bar icons. However, Samsung Good Lock app was able to do this on an un-rooted device. Good Lock app provided AOSP status bar icons and I loved it. The stock Samsung network and WiFI icons are super hard to see and quite frankly ugly. The wifi icon is half the size because of the ridiculous up/down arrows underneath the icon.
I have been looking for a replacement app like Good Lock but no luck. I tried Status and Material Status apps but they are buggy and don't work all the time. More over, they render another status bar on top of an existing one.
How was Good Lock app able to do this on a non-rooted device? I presume it was able to replace the SystemUI?What does it take to build an app like Good Lock? Anyone knows how it was accomplished or if it's possible?
Thanks for your time.
