Would I need to unlock my SIM for international travel first prior to installing CM10 if I wanted to use my S4 out of the country? Would the SIM unlock also carry over to CM10 as well once it is unlocked?

I haven't been able to find any solid information on SIM unlocking this phone, so I'm asking here. Back on Verizon, unlocking a global phone didn't seem to help much, as it still didnt work on other carriers (such as when travelling to India). Will the S4 (originally on AT&T) when SIM unlocked work?
I have flashed my Verizon S3 to Omni KitKat 4.4.3 version. I am thinking Bootloader is locked means it will unlock this SIM too.
If not how to unlock the SIM to use other carrier. Is there any app for unlock the phone?

Take this up with whomever created the unofficial build you are running. Omni does not currently officially support any of the d2 family (no maintainer for any d2 variant)
First off, sorry for the confusing thread title.
I'm currently running an AT&T Note 3 which has a locked bootloader and I've wanted to run CyanogenMod for a while now. I've ordered a second hand T-Mobile Galaxy S5 because I've heard the bootloader is unlocked and/or unlockable.
Can anyone here clarify how the sim lock/carrier lock works?
Will this require me to purchase an unlock code or will flashing the bootloader and custom firmware automatically unlock the sim? From my research I've read that I still need to unlock the sim, but I've also read that using a different bootloader can unlock it. Kind of confusing.
I received at&t S7 phone at work few month ago, I have never put in the sim card into the phone, now I want to sim unlock to use with Tmobile network, try to unlock with code purchase online but they can't find IMEI code... is there other way to sim unlock ,
Thanks
I recently bought an unlocked sm-g930a. Do you know if updating with the new at&t 7.0 firmware will lock the sim to at&t again?
Best Regards
So as Android Q is getting worked on with new features that we all look forward to using, I wanted to ask since with Q there will be more ways of sim locking by carriers. How would that affect users that (e.g. haven't paid off the phone fully but used the fastboot erase modemst1 & 2 method to sim unlock to use the dual SIM functionality) or had purchased second hand that had a sim lock. Would they be sim locked after an official Android Q update?
I would doubt that would re-lock the SIM. Thats just my guess. AS long as your SIM is unlocked now it should be after update. I tried the beta and it did not re-lock the SIM.
