Im having a problem streaming music in my car. It intermittently stops playing for a second and then resumes. It inly happens in one car but other two do not have problems. I tried with my note 2 and no problem at all. Doesnt matter which program I use for streaming. It is sporadic and sometimes plays fine.
The problem reminds me of being out of range and starts skipping.
Any ideas?

My first thought: Do you have any apps that have notification on? It can pause or silence your music while the notification sound is being played on the device itself.

Any workaround for this besides downconverting those songs I have a motorola T505 bluetooth fm transmitter. I'm sure its probably just a hardware issue on my T505 but skipping songs is as annoying as converting all those songs. Thank you

This seems to be happening with all my music, but most of/not all the time and not for a long period until recently. Which leads me to believe it's a performance issue somewhere and thinking I either need to try a different music player besides stock...or do something like logcat and try to discover what it is. I've tried many other variables for things which steal memory/CPU and nothing helps. Any tips appreciated! I run rooted stock EC05.
ETA: this happens on both my stereo BT devices, but is worse with the headphones (Sony Ericsson AW600) than the Blackberry Stereo Gateway. I get a skip every few minutes of about 1/2 a second at its most regular. Last time it appeared "fixed" was when I cleared all system caches and rebooted after a batt pull, but it returned again. :-(
Skips happen regardless of bitrate or player with my 2010 Mazda built-in Bluetooth as well. Quite annoying; I haven't narrowed down to whether it is the car or the phone though.
Of course, I get skips and pops using regular wired headphones. I hope we get better audio drivers with the GB update.
On the same boot today as yesterday, problem is temporarily gone. Only thing notable I've done was disabling and restarting BT and I don't know if that actually has any effect. It also never seems to happen while streaming audio or playing with no BT, only while playing it from the memory card using BT. Weird.
Thiss has been happening since I had a moment and I had the same music library and the same songs skip it never happens with tune in either

Just thought I'd chime in on some random recent bluetooth experience. I jog and typically hold my phone in my left hand (I use a Motorola S9 headset). The playback is fine (I use MortPlayer Music). If I move my phone to my right hand I get skips. I swear.... it's weird yet reproducible. ha.
When using my in car T505 I get no skips using any audio app.
I use a T605 in my car as well as T305 earphones. I would rarely hear a pop or skip. Now with ec05, i hear them all the time. really bums me out :'(

I have the same issue. Only happened since i asurion'd my original phone wen it was stolen... used to run eb13without issue, but with ec05 skips all the while

this seems to be a very BIG issue for anyone using bluetooth for music. can anyone confirm if this is present in any of the CM7 alpha builds because that is my only hope left for the epic
It seems there are a lot of bluetooth issues with the Nexus 4. I couldn't find a thread with my issue, so here goes.
While streaming audio to my bluetooth car stereo, everything works great, the audio quality is good and the controls on the unit work. However, if I touch the phone screen to control the music instead of the stereo, the audio stops streaming 50% of the time, and won't come back on until I restart the bluetooth connection. An example is that I'm listening to Pandora, and I thumbs down a song, it skips, starts playing the song, but there is no audio. The bluetooth controls still work, just no audio. Same with YouTube if I skip to the next video in a playlist or skip the ad. Also in Play Music it happens, and even in Google Now. With Google Now, sometimes when I hit the microphone, it will just sit there initializing, and if I hit back and try again, it just stays initializing until I disconnect bluetooth, which it then turns on the recognition twice.
It is only from interacting with the phones screen instead of using the bluetooth device. I can't see it being the bluetooth device, anyone else have this issue?
Its not the phone its jelly bean. This issue has been adressed and will be fixed 'in the next version of android' that's what Google said but its a known issue and annoying.

Alright, thank you. I couldn't find anything on the internet, I kept getting different bluetooth issues.
Yeah hopefully it gets fixed sooner rather then later.

I am new to Android, I recently migrated from the iPhone, and am enjoying my Nexus 4 very much.
My Nexus would be nearly perfect, if I did not regularly experience an audio playback glitch.
Randomly, audio playback pauses. The audio sometimes pauses after just 2 minutes of listening, and at other times occurs after 10-15+ minutes of listening... with the screen off. The audio pauses when using any of my multiple pairs of headphones, and even via Bluetooth streaming audio. I believe the issue has also occurred when using the built-in speaker. The audio pauses when streaming via wifi networks and AT&T 3G.
The audio pauses when using the following music apps: Google Play Music, Spotify, SiriusXM, Beyond Pod.
Sometimes the audio resumes when I press the power button. Sometimes I have to unlock the device and the audio resumes. Sometimes I have to press "play" again from the App.
I would love to be able to play uninterrupted audio from my Nexus.
Note: The issue occurred on 4.2.2, and still persists on 4.3.
I have searched for a solution many times, in multiple sources, but have been unsuccessful. Does anybody have any suggestions?
Thank you in advance.
I have a 2013 Volkswagen and can't seem to get Bluetooth media controls responding correctly. Everything plays/pauses just fine when I control it via the phone itself while connected to Bluetooth, but if I try to use the car's touch screen pause/play, sometimes it will pause for 2-3 seconds then start playing again by itself, sometimes it will pause as normal, but then pushing play won't resume playback. If a notification plays, playback pauses for the notification, then never resumes. Coming from a VZW gnex running CM10.2 and everything was working as expected with that device. Tried the LG music app, ES media player, google play music, beyondpod -- also tried disabling the LG Music app. Everything seems to have the same issue. Anyone else have any problems with this and maybe found a workaround?
Thanks.

Hi,
Often, while listening to music in my car, the audio will randomly, and spontaneously, pause for no apparent reason. Sometimes it will start up again after a few seconds, but usually I'll have to hit 'play' myself. This problem is particularly apparent in Spotify, but it has happened in YouTube and Google Play Music as well. Has anyone else experienced this?
Are you plugged in? My first thought is a loose (or breaking) 3.5 mm cord.
Playback in any of those apps will auto pause when a connection is lost (bt or a cord). If you're on bt do other phones do the same thing?

Nope, connected via BT to my car's audio system. Didn't have this problem on my OnePlus One.
This happened to me and I was paying through my speakers

The last two days I have this problem too.
Parrot carkit,Lg watch,ue megaboom.
The music is sometimes lost, and then it starts again.
On my megaboom it cracks a lot.
Very annoying.
Frank_Murphy,
I have this issue as well only with the Google Music app. I can't find the source where I read it but it has something to do with the app and if there is an available video; Some songs have a wallpaper or something and some you can play a music video in the app for the song instead. You just have to hit the back/forward button and it resumes.
