Hey everyone, I'm new here and to the world of Android so I apologize for any noobiness in advance. I had an iPhone the past 4 years and just made the switch and bought a new AT&T Galaxy S4.
I was wondering if it was possible to install another ROM on an SD card(I just bought a 64GB one) and have a dual boot, for example the stock Touchwiz and another ROM running side by side.
I saw a few threads on this and searched around before asking, but most were old and for different phones.
Thanks for the help.
Don't think so. Need a recovery/kernel that supports init2.d
It's possible. I had it on my s2. We need a dev to make a recovery that supports it for us.

G'day
I have decided that it's about time to get a custom room booted on my S4 (unbranded) as i've had it stock since launch and haven't really had much need to get a custom one on there, but I have the itch again to get rom(ing).
I was an avid rom user on the S2, but haven't bothered any time after that and I am very much out of the loop.
I have just a couple easy questions that should be easy for you guys to help me out on.
What's the best rom to use to date for this device? Along with a modem for Telstra (4G) and what kernel for battery life etc?
And do i still need to use that little mini usb adapter to remove the Triangle (not sure if this is still present on the s4 as it was on the s2)
:good:
Hi all, I've recently bought a used note 3 as my s3 has finally given up, but I download a lot of torrent files and need to be able to download straight to the sd card however as I'm sure you probably know is that's no longer possible, now I've heard that rooting and adding a custom rom can sort this out for me so is there a rom anyone can recommend to me that will let me download straight to the sd card, I've not much experience with rooting as I've only ever rooted one phone which was a Galaxy s3 and that was a few years ago, I would like a rom that looks newish if that's possible, any help/advise would greatly appreciated, thanks for your time.
Hello XDA,
I haven't been on the forum for quite some time and i have a question.
I knew from a year or more ago that developers haven't found a way yet to enable nfc on custom roms for this phone model.
I got the Canadian Galaxy Note 3 (N900W8) with a custom rom installed. (Currently using Broken-v3.9 rom running android 5.1.1)
I was wondering if in the mean time they've found a way to get NFC working again for my phone.
I don't want to use the official software, i just want to get NFC working on a custom rom.
Have they found a way yet?
Thanks in advance!

I just wanted to say, I've had the same question. Even android pay doesn't work for me, I read somewhere they don't want to allow it for rooted phones.
Hello,
I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and although I definitely should've checked the model number I did not. My mistake. But I've come to realize that the phone is a Korean variant and as such I can't modify it and put custom ROMs on it - if you can, I'm not sure how.
I'm a novice on smartphones and putting custom ROMs on them, I've done it before on a Note 3 that I owned (Canadian variant).
Since there aren't any custom ROMs (that I can find) for the Korean variant... Is it possible I can somehow convert the phone to an international variant or perhaps force the process?
Thanks in advance.

Try this ROM...

I have an n910s too...
Tried almost all ROMS and this is the best one.
Good luck.
If you find a way to convert to international version please let me know how to.
Thanks.
Thank for the input but I'm going to be returning the phone and getting an international or Canadian variant, as I would like to use LineageOS on it or something similar. I don't want any ROMs that look or feel like TouchWiz.
Hi there, I´m new in the forum, though I have visited it many times and learned a lot about smartphones and the inmense capability for modifications they have etc, but returning to my question, is there a good Custom ROM for the Galaxy Note 4 model SM-N910U? I´ve been searching all around the web and find a Oreo Custom ROM but is not for the U model, almost every ROM i see is for the N910F and others but no one for the N910U:crying:
If someone with better knowledge can answer me I´ll be really happy, I know the Note 4 is old by now but I think it still rocks and I don´t wanna throw it away yet
