I tried your port on the nexus 4 and its really cool!
Much love!
Kind of sad that these people expect a port just by commenting their phone. Your video gives hope!

For Android, refer to here
For Bada, I believe no developer team are working on it, yet.
Hi,
I currently have a Sony Xperia U with Android 4.0 ICS installed and I was just wondering whether it would be possible for me to develop a Custom ROM with 4.1 Jellybean and flash it to my Phone.
Would I have to build a custom Kernel first? If so, how?
I installed the Android SDK Yesterday along with Eclipse and am Ready to start Developing.
Also, if anybody else has the 'Xperia U', I would like to put a Team together.
Thanks

Well if u never did this thing u better start and try to make a custom rom with your current ICS version.
You first have to learn to read, then u can write a book
Iv had experience with Java Programming and software Development so it shouldnt be too hard for me

Whilst I do not want to hold you back, beware that it's a time consuming and difficult process. I hope you can find some other devs to help you with it. Maybe you can work together with Xperia P devs, because the hardware (SoC) is similar.
Discussions for CM10.1 and CM10.2 for the Xperia Play. If something new is coming. All discussion goes here.
im really for your project.
i hope you fix everything

I think you should stick with Ubuntu 13.04 or else Linux Mint 15
Because bbqlinux its hard to install some updates. Compiling gives alot of errors. I'm switching my OS on Ubuntu 13.04 by this friday

Yup. If can i will start from scratch
@Hashy what happened to your old Kernel and ROM that you would start from scratch ?? I mean any reason for that ?? y not continue dev. cuz that would be easier and faster isn't it.. did the old ROM boot ? did you boot into 4.3 yet I mean through any means ?

Because i was using Some of Legacy Xperia commits for my kernel. And the dev don't allow anyone to copy his work
I will start my work by this friday and lets see how it goes.

I think that you can not compete . You should create together---> it is better---> Have a good rom with kernel than 2 ragged rom with 2 kernel. But mike can work on rom and you can work on kernel This is just my opinion sorry for bad english!

And that's the reason why we don't have 3.4 kernel and 4.3 ROM yet. It's because nobody wants to share work with others or work together on one kernel and one ROM. Anyway i wish you all luck.
hmmm.. unity is strength.. Xperia play is no more about Cosmic Dans Turbo Kernel.. or Lupus's Kernel.. or AOKP or CyanagenMod.. (I mean all this in a good way) we need a "ROM" 4.2/4.3 for Xperia Play and a "Kernel" for Xperia Play.. the brand, the dev, no matters no more.. and the way things are,, I really think dev's should team up to make one Good Rom.. and One Good Kernel.. cuz I don't think Xperia Play would last till Android 6.0 .. so just this device one good last push.. and see how things work out. Split work will only increase/duplicate work.. delay the ROM/Kernel and maybe the ROM would never get rid of bugs.
Guys I don't think teaming up is going to happen, the old thread got deleted so I can't show you any of the stuff that happened. But it got pretty nasty so lets not bring working together up and just focus on getting a stable 4.3 build for our Xperia Play's

Actually yes that seems like a good idea, as 4.3 is only a minor update of 4.2 and people have had success on the play before building 4.2 (without wifi though). But my main concern is being ready for 4.4, which if it is as ram light as everyone says and runs just as fast as gingerbread as everyone is saying, would be perfect for our Xperia Play's. But beggars can't be choosers as I always say

Probably you haven't understand the problem: the problem wasn't you using some of the lxp's commits, the problem was you not asking permissions like everyone else; now probably mike want let you use his work as a base, but it isn't because he is selfish and didn't allow the other people to use his work, it is because you go against the common rule

It IS now ! It's not beta anymore !!!
Well, building Sailfish is not that easy.
You must set up a kernel that can interact with Sailfish OS, then after you got it booting, you WILL have bugs.
Creating then porting an OS is not as easy as requesting it.
But SailFish is android compatibile

Salfish IS Android apps compatible. Not hardware compatible.
Dude, really. It's hard to port Sailfish. Because it's Android apps compatible, doesn't mean that'll be as easy as porting a ROM.
Sailfish is a neat OS though its gonna be hard to build one for our device and it wont run that smooth as our phone is not really a high end device .
i was wondering that if anybody has started to build firefox os for our phones ? i saw couple of guys trying to build it for e610 when i googled it .
wonder what happened to them now

Not possible. If you flash any ROM other then that for your device, it will result in a bootloop. The only way I can see for you to give HTC's UI a try is to download a ROM (if there is any) that has the UI ported. If you don't like Touchwiz, you can also try Stock Android (CM, PA, C-ROM etc)
