does *#272*Phone’s IMEI# work on the i9505? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I need to get the CSC for my phone and *#272*Phone’s IMEI# isn't working for me.
Wondering if I'm doing it wrong or if it just doesn't work for the i9505.

Try using *#1234#

Thanks, I used that to get the firmware versions but the csc listed there isnt three characters like I thought it would be.
So i would like to confirm it another way, also *#272* is supposed to allow you to change it which i will need to do.

I'm in the same boat. running AP: i9505XXUAME2 CP:i9505XXUAMDD CSC: i9505EVRAMDB which I think means I need to update my CSC as they don't match. I just can't find out how. http://droidviews.com/2012/how-to-change-csc-in-samsung-galaxy-phones/ That guide doesn't help as the *#272*Phone’s IMEI Here# bit doesnt work. Any help would be great as well as opinons on whether there is a CSC mismatch. I'm getting sim not inserted errors that I think are related and need to pull battery, and re-insert the sim to fix this. It then triggers again after about an hour.

I used CSC changer from the playstore. it says for S2/S3 but it work on the Galaxy S 4 as well.

But you need root to use it.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I gave that app a whirl. It seemed to want to auto generate the *#272*Phone’s IMEI Here# bit automatically, but was unable and set up *#272*# on the dialer, but no more. Shame.
Edit: sorry, my bad. I tried CSC Select. Let me have a go with CSC changer

[Q] Cannot get Note3 to display AP or CSC (code *#1234# error)

I have become increasingly frustrated with this device! I am trying to run the *#1234# code in the stock dialer to view my AP and CSC so that I may root via the Root de la Vega method. But when the code runs it just comes back saying "Unable to Process Request". I've tried everything such as dialing just #1234#, *#1234#*, resets, factory resets, posting the question here previously (as I cannot post in the actual forum thread yet due to posting limitations) but it was deleted with no message to let me know why, nothing works. I cannot root safely without being able to view this code and was wondering if anyone else was having the same problem? Not sure if it's relevant but my carrier is T-mobile and I am using the 32gb White model. Everything is still stock. I really need help with this, I'm ready to go back to my note 2 because at least that had root -_-. Someone please help!?

You have to be rooted and "enable" the entry of service codes via the dialer first.
For the VZW Note 3, I've confirmed this works - Edit the contents of /efs/carrier/HiddenMenu from OFF to ON (must be capitalized)...reboot and you're good to go.
If that doesn't work for non VZW Note 3's, you can try the full steps listed here!

This is very confusing , if I'm trying to obtain root I need to already be rooted? If I root without using the Vega method I'll trip the knox counter no? I'm trying to avoid that. Seems like a catch 22 to me?

Having the same problem, but THANK you for the Checkfus recommendation. That does provide the CSC.
It doesn't show AP though.
However, (new road block) my CSC is N900VVZWMI9 , I don't see that in the list https://mega.co.nz/#F!n9JnyI5S!VKmm1hxHlhIxWo1bXeIfLA
So I guess we will have to wait... Correct?
I am having a similar problem, I just opened my Note 3 and when I dial *#1234# nothing happens, if I click send, it actually tries to dial it. I need to know the AP and CSC so I can root. Obviously I can't follow the steps above since I'm not rooted yet.
Remember.. You have to use native dialer when entering codes.. I was using a third party dialer app and it only dialed.

Problem Since Rooting - Unable to Dial Out or Receive Calls

Ive been unable to dial out or receive calls on my note 3 since rooting it. I have tried everything I can think of to get it resolved but have been unable to do it. This is not a problem with my mobile phone provider as I have tried my friends sims and they dont work either. I have installed the stock rom and reset factory defaults but I am still unable to use it.
I will pay someone to fix this for me now as it has now gotten out of hand! I have sent it to samsung and they say the device has been rooted and will not touch it! Any help would be much appreciated!!
Many thanks
Andy
P.s. If you can fix it, I will pay!!
Did you lose your IMEI after rooting? Or can you still register on your network? Also did you trip knox by rooting your phone?
Please help. My network doesn't work on custom rom but works on official firmware.

Thanks for your reply Steven1962. The IMEI Number is still intact though I am not able to register on the network. I did trip knox when I rooted my device, I just sent it to samsung for repair and they wouldn't touch it as the knox was tripped.

So if I understand correctly you are prompted to enter your PIN after reboot but you still can't register on your network even though the PIN gets accepted?

I think if it doesn't ask for a PIN it can not really register to the network. What firmware are you on currently? What's the version of your modem?

Install Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app to get info about your device (CSC, baseband, etc...)
Then open Menu > 'Firmware Browser' to download the stock firmware for your device.
You can flash full firmware, or extract the baseband (modem.bin + NON-HLOS.bin) and flash them separately.
Hi everyone,
vndnguyen, I'll address this question to you but hopefully help the original poster too.
I ran firmware browser in the above app but neither the vodafone nor btu (does btu mean unbranded?) version match my device. My bootloader, baseband and pda all end NC2 and my csc NA4. Even on Sammobile I cannot find that.
So my question is does it matter which one I install? If I install any vodafone uk offering will I be ok? If I install any uk btu version will it just be stock minus the bloat?
I've tried a few custom roms but always seem to head back to stock so wanted to flash pure stock if that makes any sense.

Carrier apps are still on phone

Hey everyone! I have probably a simple problem that I can't seem to figure out, so I'll ask the people of XDA.
So recently I had a network locked phone (to Fido) that also had some carrier stuff (ex. I can't uninstall spotify), so I got the network unlock code, put it in, it worked, now I can put any SIM in. Great!
Now I decide to flash the stock firmware for the Canadian variant (G935W8) to get rid of that bloatware. So I went over to XDA, downloaded the carrier free version (product code: XAC) and flashed it using Odin.
I placed the BL, AP, CSC, and CP files in the corresponding spots in Odin. It worked! I got a PASS. But, when I went to check my phone, an example app that I can't remove is spotify. Is anyone able to help me out, and explain why there are carrier apps still on my phone even after flashing the carrier free version? It'd be nice if I could also have a way to get rid of those apps. Thanks to anyone!!
Even in some stock unbranded roms they have apps like that,so if ur not rooted ,and u can't disable it ,try package disabler pro.

Hmm. But I thought apps like Spotify, fido app zone, etc were not preinstalled apps on the s7 stock ROM. And I've also seen friends who had the ability to remove Spotify, and they were using a wind mobile phone.

Whats your model number? Go into the phone settings and check in there. The more details you provide the faster you will get an answer. Going through the Odin process you mentioned will not unlock your phone. It lets you change to different carrier firmware but you still need an unlocked device otherwise it will not work.

Strangely I cannot find anything on that model # you posted. Are you sure; there is F after GM950? Can you go to Samsung official website > http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/phones/galaxy-s/s/_/n-10+11+hv1rp+zq1xa/ and find your model? Also, can you also share your baseband version as well?
Edit: Looks like you have the Exynos model which goes by different alias (SM-G950G, G950G, SM-G959FD, G950FD)? Is that correct? .
This happened to me earlier today also. I have the G955F since late May and all has been well. I wanted to Flash CarHDRom V.4.1.1 today coming from Renovate. First boot with new rom I get the unlock sim screen. (never seen this after almost 8 years of flashing) Also a standing message in notifications "network locked sim card".
The sim card works fine in my backup phone. Why would it all of a sudden do this and how do I find the unlock code? Phone is otherwise useless now.

Can someone help me? I have G950FD which Firmware should I flash for my phone? I am using this model in the US
bump!
Download mode shows your original Country code, no matter what CSC you flash
Turn off your phone, then press Volume Down + Bixby Button + Power button once for 4 seconds.
A blue screen will appear saying that do not flash non original firmware, press Volume Up.
A screen will come up saying at the top "ODIN MODE".
In this screen, you have some information about your device, but the one that we are intrested is a red line "CARRIER_ID: XXX"
That ID is your CSC code, no matter what firmware you install it on. Mine is PAN - the original - even though i currently have DBT installed.
and just press Volume Down + Power key for 7 seconds to restart to normal mode.
Is there anyway that you can check the AP, CP, CSC, & BL without going to download mode or recovery mode, or even going to dialer pad and dial *#1234#? I forgot to get copy of it before flashing custom rom form my Galaxy S7 and Galaxy J4+. Please helppp!!!
