Hello guys,
yesterday I started working on a little project, which allows people to create their own boot animations.
The program, for Windows, is called 'Boot Animation Creator by Team M4gkBeatz'.
Basically, it allows you to select from a variety of different settings, and then creates all necessary files and folders, where the user can then input the desired files. The program will then store the zip appropriately and rename it bootanimation.zip (Or any other name, as that matter..)
I consider this program very early, but as it's open source, I'd like it to be available for everyone at any stage.
Inside the source folder, there are some builds, which only do very simple tasks at the moment (Create part-folder and desc.txt file) but in the next few days it should get some decent updates, which will allow it to do everything as planned.
The source code can be found either in my GitHub profile (See my XDA-username) under Beatsleigher/BootAnimationCreator or under http://github.com/beatsleigher/bootanimationcreator.
Once I have a useable build, I'll upload it to SourceForge, along with a link.

It's just code. I'm not developing in Visual Basic anymore. You can take the code and use it as you wish.
At some point in time, I may re-code it in Java, but for now it's dead.

Never, EVER ask for ETAs again.
It will be released as a part of Universal Android Toolkit, so you'll have to wait until then.

Hello everybody,
I'm starting this topic apologising for not being that good in modding Android devices.
I own a Samsung Galaxy S Advance GT-I9070 which runs Android 2.3.6.
Following many tutorials I managed to own root permissions and to load a different firmware on my device, which now is like this:
band version I9070XXLD3, kernel version [email protected] #2, build version GINGERBREAD.XXLD3.
I am very happy with my smartphone, it's very quick, all perfect.
I would like to update Android to a more recent version, possibly the last one.
What can I do?
On the official Android site, under the pèage Device Gallery, I couldn't find my model ;-(
Thank you

There is no latest update for I9070 than the one you have now. No 4.1, and no 4.2 too.

I understand.
Sorry for not posting the title in the correct way, meaning "[GT-I9070] - Updating from Gingerbread 2.3.6 to Jelly Bean 4.2". I tried to edit it, but couldn't.
So I guess there's no way to update & upgrade my device, even if it's owned by root permissions.
Thanks anyway.

Hey, I made a program with you can resize APKs faster than ever. I haven't got much idea how to test it so I'm giving to you to test and report!
It's coded in VB. NET, which is pretty easy langauge, and source can be found at github.com/galaxyfreak/APK_Resizer. Just click download as zip in corner
It supports : MDPI, HDPI, XHDPI and LDPI.
What it actually does:
1) Extracting the APK to C:\temp
2) Taking highest existing resolution
3) Resizing PNGs and put it in new folder 'drawable-<targetresolution>'
4) Packing new APK named 'resized_<originalname>' at same folder as original APK
5) Deletes C:\temp
Test it and feel free to report and problems.

Alpha 2 (28/11/2012) - Download - Much more stable than A1
Alpha 1 (24/11/2012) - Download
It requires .NET Framework 3.5!
On resizing it will freeze on not responding for few moments, JUST LEAVE IT.
What about .9.pngs? It will be resized, nothing else, I currently dont know anything about them, so I can't make anything else with them than just resizing.
Gona try it
just what i needed to resize doodle jump for my S3
Going to try it!
Merge 9 patch resize tool with it.
9 patch problems are over .
...
And remember to press THANKS.
Small news: Done with LDPI support. (see commit)
Tommorow i'll start working on batch resizing.

WTF? This is an Windows tool. You mean for onboard resizing? I don't think so. You can't program Android apps in VB.NET (basic4android is poor)
Yes, of course you can resize on Android.
Not possible ATM though.

SIMPLE TOOL
This is a easy tool I made the other day. For now you can do simple enough tasks which just save you opening Command Prompt and flashing img’s etc. I do plan on expanding this a little and attempting to make it multi-device compatible. For now enjoy the limited function and let me know how you get on.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
Simple stuff, hence the name.
+ The buttons state what the do so you shouldn’t have any issues.

FAQ's
PHONE ISN'T RECOGNISED...
+ Make sure you have your device drivers installed.
++ If you are using Windows 8 then you need to Advanced Reboot and turn of driver signature verification.
+ Is USB Debugging Enabled and Root Access to ADB level, within Developer Options?
PHONE IS BOOTLOOPING...
+ Chances are you have flashed the wrong boot image or one that isn't compatible. This could be because your run a ROM that doesn't support it or that it's plain and simple for the wrong device. Have a check again and make sure you use the right one.
THIS TOOL DON'T DO NOTHING RIGHT...
+ Check to make sure you can run commands and get the phone recognised using the old fashioned command prompt way. Simple adb devices etc. If this works and the tool doesn't then feel free to post. Just bare in mind I test the functions on a Nexus 4, Nexus 7 & Oppo Find 5 with which the functions have all worked.

Sorry ultraman youre method is too easy but is slow, a lot of people here already know how to edit build.props. How? Simple, use es file or any other root explorers, go to system/ build. prop and just change it. Btw, google actually changed the insides of 4.2 and upgrade them to remove lags ibstead of changing the ui/ features.
This is just changing the device number many more build prop mods have been posted .

You can add modifications to a build prop as many devs have in their rom .
But just to change a build product to Android 4.3 is something a twelve year old would do .
