Hello, I'm a little bit confused. I have cLK 1.5.0.5 Black. When i go to recovery, it shows some errors about "can't mount /cache" etc. It can't even wipe it, format it or even mount it! It happened all of sudden! And i can't even backup my phone :banghead: i can normally boot to ROM etc but just can't use recovery. It can't be bad blocks, i have "only" 5 realated to /system. Any solution PLEASE?

Happened all of a sudden, interesting. Remove the sdcard, and reinsert then try again. If that doesn't work, try reinstalling the recovery. If THAT doesn't work, backup everything on your SDcard and format it.
If you'd like to wait for another one before attempting to do what I said, feel free to do so. I actually suggest you wait for other answers

Ok, so to start off, I have resolved this, I am just trying to find out why it happened to prevent future occurrences. I was running Calkulin's EViO 3 v1.0, HBOOT 0.76, 2.15 Radio, Stock Kernel.
So here is what happened that led up to the problem. I had just downloaded the Latest amazon App of the day (x-Scope browser pro), and used the Reboot app that comes prepackaged with Calkulin's rom to reboot the phone. Upon restarting the phone got hung at the HTC EVO 4G screen (I let it sit here for about 15 minutes). My thought was ok, something is wrong with this app. So I booted into recovery to attempt to fix the problem.
Upon booting into recovery (Ra Recovery 2.3), I was greeted with
E:\ Can't mount CACHE:recovery/command
E:\ Can't mount CACHE:recovery/log
E:\ Can't mount CACHE:recovery/log
It took several minutes for these 3 errors to process on the recovery screen, every time I navigated to a new menu they would appear again. The first thing I did was wipe my Cache, and Dalvik. This removed the errors from the recovery, however the phone still wouldn't boot. So I ran VR_Superwipe and restored my CM7 nandroid. All is good now, however I would really like to know what caused this to happen in the first place.
I tried to google it, however it appears to be a very uncommon error to get, and of the posts I found with the same error people claimed it was unrecoverable and they had to run the RUU to fix it(This was not the case).
Somehow, someway, I believe either by the install of the app, and/or you had a corrupted rom install and that you just had bad timing! I've had the same situation happen to me.

ok, first of all, i do not have enough post's to post this in the development section where it belongs...anyways, my nexus s is a complete mess. I had brainmaster's miui with the matr1x kernel running for 6 hours and my phone reboots and get's stuck on the boot up screen with the unlocked symbol.
i've tried many battery pulls and yet it won't manage to boot past that screen nor will it mount my sd card. i've been looking all over xda for a fix for this and i can't seem to get any solution to fix my problem.
i tried adb but im not sure if im doing it right or not because im using a mac.
anyways, any help will be greatly appreciated!!
and yes i tried the method where i download the nandroid backup and mount through cwr, but each time i try to mount my sd card to mount it fails, for some reason it only mounts if i have twrp recovery...

try mount "usb storage" also you may try and re-flash miui and not wipe cache ect. it might boot back up.
ok, but how can i reflash the rom if the sd card won't mount? is it possible through adb?

actually this doesn't belong in development section... it goes in Q&A. So yeah that post count limit is there for a reason
boot into recovery by holding volume up and power button and then selecting recovery and backup then wipe data/cache and start over and see if that fixes the issue.
Tried that as well, i began to research the problem more and it could possible that my nand is corrupt, so i might need to send it in under warranty? If this where the case would i just need to lock the bootloader?
reboot into recovery and wipe dalvik and try to reboot. Had the same problem but on cm7/matr1x and i wiped it and it booted, worth a try.

Hey guys my MyTouch 4g froze while updating flash lastnight
I was runnung the stock deodexd bloatware removed updated rom that is in
the dev section (Icannot remember who it belongs to)
I rebooted the phone and it frove on the splash screen
I rebooted into the bootloader
It wont let me do a factory wipe, and 4ext touch will not finish
installing any of the 4 backups I have on the sd card
I was finally able to flash CWM Recovery 2.5.0.7 but cannot get anywhere
To top it off my phone will not connect to my computer so I can

Hi,
I guess in your frustrated mood, like many before you, you also need a dedicated, special confirmation that you're not an exception to the rule, and just reading "if this and that - your phone is screwed" doesn't work for you. So I'll honor your feelings by writing it 10000th time again.
Look at Glacier Wiki, section "Troubleshooting". Or at the topmost sticky in General section. Or in Q&A. Or search for any part of the error message you're getting. You'll receive the same reply:
If you flash PD15IMG and it either doesn't complete or shows you Fail-PU on one of the partitions - YOUR PHONE IS DEAD, AND THERE IS NO WAY BACK.
Have you tried wiping dalvik and cache and rebooting recovery? Make sure you unmount cache also. My phone did this before too, and that's what I did to fix.

Yes, yes I did along with a lot of other posts re the same topic.
BTW your link for the PD15IMG.zip is dead due to our wonderful government
and must I refer you to your post about you being mean to others ;p j/k
If I could get my phone to connect to my computer I could use adb no problem. But something with the driver is stopping it from connecting.
Ok thanks to PCLiteratesJax I was able to dl a good PD15IMG.zip. Phone is now stock and running good
I'm stuck on the samsung boot screen and can't do anything to get past it.Let me tell you how I got here..
So I earlier was having TWRP problems, for some reason it wouldn't get past the samsung boot screen whenever I flashed a new cm10.2 nightly, unless I did a restore and did it again and a bunch of other stuff.
So I tried switching to CWM 1.0.3.4, kinda stupid of me to use this older version, it was an accident.
Anyways I did a wipe and installed cm 10.2, it worked the first time around and I restored everything via Titanium (THIS IS WHERE I MESSED UP) apparently you shouldn't do that, after I rebooted I couldn't get back the samsung boot screen. So I tried doing what I usually did, which was reformatting/doing a full wipe before I reflash a rom. Here is the issue, I can no longer reformat on my phone. I get an issue "error mounting /data", it says error mounting sd_card as well. I can't wipe my dalvik cache either. Even though it says error mounting sd_card I can still attempt to install .zip files from the sd card, and see all my files. But I can't do a full wipe so the rom won't flash correctly I guess, which won't let me get past the samsung boot screen.
I can't access my phone via USB either, my computer doesn't remotely detect it unless I boot using volume down+home+boot which gets me to some "Downloading, Do not turn off target" screen. If I plug in my usb here my computer at least detects something but just something it recognizes as "Samsung Mobile USB Modem". Kies just times out trying to load the phone.
Anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I've been wracking my brain at this for the past 4 hours and I'm freaking out..
Crux of issue:
-Stuck at boot screen (can boot into recovery or "odin mode" not sure what that is though can't seem to do anything here)
-Can't do a full wipe
-Can't flash a rom because of bad wipe
Odin back to stock and if you have force closes and stuff when you do that in stock recovery do a factory reset. Make sure u try to pull ur files you want to keep on your SD before you factory reset after odining to stock because ur SD card will be wiped.
But wait for someone else to respond maybe they know a less time consuming way.

Ehh I feel like an idiot, i just realized what I can do..
Yeah I'm going to odin back to stock.. downloading the stock .tar right now..
I had to odin back to stock the other day and didn't think nothing of doing a factory reset on a stock recovery. You'll delete everything off your internal SD. I wish someone told me twice lol. Hope everything works for you.

Idk why and it ussualy happens when i press something(like picture share, camera and so on). Also when I wipe my system, data, cache and dalvik when i try to install another rom I get an error saying unable to mount /system and when i try to mount it with adb it says system not found so I have to use a backup of an older version to make everything work :/ . If I forgot anything please let me know and if someone could help i would really appriciate it. Thanks for reading.

What twrp are you using? If you are using the 2.8.4.0 then uncheck mtp in mount the freezes are probably rom related all aosp roms are in beta stage
I'm using TWRP v2.8.1.1 and mtp is on disabled. Thanks for the advice though.
I updated to a new recovery v2.8.4.0 I hope it will work now
unmount of /system failed; no such volume i get that error :S
I left it install for 20 minutes just to see will that error matter and seems like it doesn't matter. The rom installed at the end. Thanks for help.
