Check the taboonay thread, vache stated he fixed the problem. Kitchen has been fixed, just re-cook what you want and flash

Yes it's fixed indeed.
Just cook again ;-)
I'm about to give up hope on root. I think I messed something up with my lack of experience. Here's the story.
Rooted and everything went well. Installed clockwork and taboonay 2 with villian and everything was going great. Then I tried the cookbook thing on taboonay. And got a system UI failure constantly. So I decided I had made a mess of my sdcards trying to figure things out. So I was going to reset everything back to factory, to include clockwork, and start over. I used clockwork to restore things back to before I put on taboonay and villian. Then, without thinking I unrooted the tab before changing clockwork back. I moved my backups from clockwork to my computer and formatted my sd cards. Now the tab won't reroot. I tried to move my backup files back to path sdcard/clockwork/backups but clockwork says it can't find them. How do I get clockwork to find my backup files? And if I restore to a point the tab was rooted, will it again be rooted? How do I reset everything back to factory and start over?
think I figured it out. Rooted again anyway. Is there an easy way to reset everything at one time? Including recovery?
As far as I know the answer is "NO".
You may restore kernel and OS with a nand backup/retore and you can flash the recovery in tree ways : adb, zip, Acer Recovery app but not all at the same time.
First thing to do :
install the recovery
then flash kernel and rom from sdcard or you restore a nand backup.
Your clockwork backups should work if you put them back in the /clockworkmod directory of the external SD card. Did you pay attention to the directories structure ?
For Thor recovery, the path you mentioned is wrong to me.
On the external sd it should be :
/clockworkmod /backup/[date of backup]/*
The [date of backup] is like : 2011-08-26.20.00.12
(date and time)
id pay for an app that did it if anyone has any ideas.... OK. I got clockwork off. I'm going to unroot again and reset the whole thing again and start over.
I 've edited my previous post, will this help you ?
yes, very helpful. Got everything put back together, and even got the mods from taboonay cookbook working. You all are awesome. Learned more from xda in two days than two years of college. Ofcourse, that probably says something about my effort in college. Ive got another question though. Think im going tonstart a new thread for it. Ive got adfree on my tab. Every time it blocks an ad it puts the little green android picture in where the ad should be. Wouldnt it be cool if you could personalize that pocture that pops up? Is that possible?
K so I have searched the net for days about this, with no success. what I want to know is it possible to transfer a backup of a stock rom, from one tablet to another of the same kind for recovery? if so can you post instructions or a tut, I've lost my original due to currupt data. and I want my Dolby digital sound back.
acer iconia minimalist rom
edit: I do have access to another tablet running stock.

Using cwm do a full nandroid backup, transfer the backup to microsd, put the microsd into the other Iconia and use cwm to do a nandroid restore.
At least, that's my guess.
well that's a start, I was about to start ripping my hair out over this simple sound issue lol but thanks.

Hmmmmm. Can't you use use a full update.zip and flash a copy of the stock rom? Never tried using a nandroid backup on a system it was not created on - it might work, but it might not, I really am not sure.
But just flashing a full update.zip or installing Acer recovery tool to flash a stock rom sounds easier and more likely to work to me - am I missing something and is this not an option?
I tried flashing two or three times before, sent it into a bootloop, I even tried the Acer update decrypter but my laptop is 32 bit, and until today when I finally decided to post the question is when it occurred to me about possibly transferring it. btw, is there a set destination for the nandroid back up?

Nandroid backups go to the external SD by default (I think) - have you tried using Acer Recovery Installer on the tab with the issue? Assuming you can still boot it and have root you may be able to go back to stock using it.
acer recovery
Tonto the market. Download the new version of Acer recovery installer.install third recovery. Go back into Acer recovery got last box .choose a rom for your location.let it download then install.point and click simple and will fix your issue.if you have failed attempts. You might want to try a different SD card.good luck
This did work for me
.

Urban geeky blonde like me can do it surely a strong man like yourself willnfigure it out. Giggles
I have tried Acer recovery installer as well, I have 2.3 in fact I tried just a moment ago, and I get boot screen with android the triangle and the exlimation point.
confusion
OK Acer recovery installer is not the recovery just a means to install and work within it and run pre defined scripts.as in there backup and so on
If you are getting that.you need to
1.open Acer recovery installer
2.Install Recovery.the first black box acroos screen.it will askbifnyoubwant to back up stock recoverybdo so.(this is the recovery program only not the system) .
3.boot into recovery and backup your whole tablet.or use the far right black button to d/load and install a new rom from his list.fallow the instructions there clickishly simple
Good luck
So what Acer recovery installer does is replace the stock recovery. To allow you to install non stock decryptedand other. Zip files of course it will install stock recoveries as well.read the Acer recovery install thread under Dev section it's al in there
Again Google luck
OK so here is what I did and it worked like a charm, installed cwm did a custom restore (everything but data) mounted the SD card on other tablet restored and voila I have Dolby mobile back! thank you guys for all the help and info, now I can truly mess with roms and be safe knowing I have a non currupt back up

SWEET! Glad you got it figured out!
So I think I've royally F'd my DX. I was going to try rooting and flashing a new rom. I'm not a total noob (rooted gtab, nook color, Le Pan) but this is ****ing me up.
It was running 2.3.3 605 originally. I started out with just root, that seemed fine. I got superuser and busybox installed without a problem. I install clockwockmod and dx bootstrap. I was even able to get CWM 5.0.2 or whatever installed without any trouble like I had read.
I tried reading and following threads but I couldn't fallow on if I was missing steps. I have zero experience with rooting via scripts and I have no intention to learn and would rather go back to stock.
I immediately got problems with rebooting. It would not reboot via the power button. It would go to the Red M then just black screen. But it would boot just fine if I pulled out the battery and tried that way.
I did a factory reset thinking that would help, it didn't. I was still rooted but the problems got worse. Now I boot directly into CWM recovery and have to reboot from in there to get to the OS.
I read some more, thought I had figured more out. Installed Rom manger, installed Liberty3. I'm still booting straight into recovery but when I reboot from there I'm stuck at the spinning Liberty logo.
I need help, I've read and searched, if you want to be a **** have run. But I need my phone fixed. Hold my hand like I'm Hellen Keller and help please.
I would recommend reading the Droid X wiki at the Cyanogenmod website. I had some of the same issues until I followed the downgrade + root method and then installed ROM Manager and CM7 manually through recovery. Good luck!

Don't use ROM manager and don't use dxbootstrap (unless you have usb debugging unchecked). I use d2 bootstrap always. And you will have the occasion of it going in to cwm when you boot phone back up. I dealt with it for while. And cwm should be 2502 or something like that when you're just rooted 605. Did you make a nandroid of your rooted 605 before you tried to flash liberty
? Hopefully you did. Go back to that. Then use d2 bootstrap to get in to recovery, wipe data, cache and dalvik, then select install ip from sd card, then choose zip, then scroll via volume down to the liberty file, select that and flash.
I used directions posted over at Androidforums.com under the All Things Root forum for the Dx. I had a couple of hiccups, but it was user error. I now have Liberty 3 running smoothly on my Dx. Check it out, including the guide and ROM lists.

Just re-flash ur phone dude. do you know how to do that? It's a pain in the butt. but it is always failsafe.
Somebody, please. I've had my tablet running rooted versions of Thor's rom, I'm currently running the ICS one...and honestly, it's too much. I just really want to go back...to how the thing was when I bought it. Then I'll just OTA to the newest OS available. Somebody please help
What do you mean it's too much?
Wish I could help though, I'm not into ROMing so I have no info but I'm sure someone will come along or you can try using the search [if you haven't already]. I'm pretty sure you're not the first person who's come along wanting to revert back to stock.
Like all the little glitches and things in the ROMs really add up...I just want stock back and I'll wait for ICS. It was fun while it lasted but now I'm into hardware modding.
You should try the search function within the forums to help with this. There are several threads on this already. Here is one for starters;

You are running experimental version of Thor's ROM, of course there would be a lot of glitches. I've tried almost all HC ROMs out there and the one I'm sticking with is Thor 14.2, only glitch in that ROM is that the rotate lock switch does not work.
Note: Reason I'm using 14.2 is because that is the only ROM that play nice with my GPS.
Run Acer recovery installer, load Acer recovery, run iconia root and remove root. Put the Chinese 3.0.1 unsecured kernel on your SD card, should be named update.zip.
Reboot to recovery, It will automatically run the update.
When you have 3.0.1 on your tab, go to settings>about>updates and let it update to the latest version of android, you may need to do this a couple of times as it seems to only go up to the next release of android.
All fixed, back on stock android and no root....
Cant you just boot into CWM. And restore the anand backup that you created before flashing any roms.. Then boot load acer recovery installer and use it to install STOCK RECOVERY..
.
Im sure as such a intelligent person that you are . YOU DID Make and save a backup. as every rom on XDA Tells you to do so before flashing...
If not just look for a full STOCK ROM And flash it...
Good Luck
To be honest, the ONLY way to get a nandroid backup of 3.2 for me was to go ack to 3.0.1... At this point I no longer can get a backup of my stock rom... So was pointless making a nandroid backup of the buggy OS that the unsecured 3.0.1 rom is....
I don't know if anyone else had this problem but it was a pain in the arse for me....

Do what ultramag69 said, and you will have an unrooted up to date A500!
Btw, my A500 works great whith Thor's 14.2 Rom...especially 3G
I wasnt sure where or even if I should post this I normally use V.5 as a daily driver but I wanted to try the latest Hydracore OC kernel with latest JB Paranoid Rom. Everything was cool on ParaJB, as it has been in other test drives, except that I kept losing root whenever I flashed Hydracore, and I know thats been reported many times but I couldnt fix it and I started thinking that it might have something to do with the way the PreRooted gb roms are rooted. No idea but anyway heres what I did:
I wasnt sure if I should flash try to SuperSu .96 from CWR to regain root (I think that I should have) so I started over and downgraded to gb via PC Odin using a pre rooted GB rom. I booted, confirmed root then flashed JB Paranoid 2.1 from recovery, booted and updated superuser in market and updated to latest binary in app.
So I try Hydracore again now that I updated the binary confirmed root GB to JB, but I lost root again with HydraCore so I was thinking, based on what i had read, that I probably messed up with Superuser but letting the market update it every time and that I should have downloaded and updated the binary with SuperSu instead. I really dont know why I didnt do that in the first place but I do that carelessness can get you into trouble.
So I flash the pre rooted GB again in PC Odin but this time I get into a bootloop and I cant even boot recovery...soft bricked? Tried to flash it in PC Odin a few more times, its flashing fine wo errors but no change no loop, its just stuck on N7000 logo.
I went back into download mode and did the standard download a stock gb rom, hope 4 the best procedure. This time it got further, it actually played the music, which I took as an encouraging sign that stock recovery would work & it did (I was a little nervous but I worrry 2 much) so I wiped cache, factory reset and finally booted, finally.
I still have no idea what happened and I still have to re-upgrade but I don't anticipate any issues with that. I guess this time I will try to install SuperSu from market before I flash HydraCore and/or flash .96 via CWR afterward I lost root and then Triangle Away.
...I must have flashed a thousand Roms, (counting other devices) but I cant remember ever losing the ability to charge. Only now do I realize why it always says have at least 50% charge, you really dont want to try flashing wo a lot of juice.
OC version of hydracore is not stable for all Notes. Try to reflash everything from Odin, use Speedmod

Well I am glad that your phone is back to life. In your post I can not see that you have made a full wipe between flashes (GB and the custom rom). Maybe a wipe cache and dalvik could have helped. As you were already told, Hydracore OC version is not for all devices and might behave ramdonly so try to flash the Standard version of it.
iam pretty sure that I got tge wipes right but yea it wasnt a huge deal just strange
You don't want to wipe after you replace supersu either BC then you will lose it right and it will cause some sort of binary issue, is that even possible?
So I am pretty sure it was in fact an issue w supersu vs superuser
BC I am now once again using hydracore 3.4 OC group B wo issue (and its GREAT btw i love it) on paranoid v.5 w full root rights retained...but i dont think i csn factoryvl reset now wo losing root unless I first tell superuser to update ot bibary and retake control of root from Supersu then uninstall Supersu, or something like that, I haven't experimented enough to know what's what
So if u want to flash hydracore u just have to update supersu after you flash paranoid and probably any other Rom thats includes Superuser
From what I have gathered, if you download and update the binary from with SuperSu it replaces super user (as there can only be one at a time) I've found, at least on paranoid rooms, that if before you switch kernels you need to let supersu become the primary root binary and then flash hydracore you will retain root rights...messing around with the wrong binaries or perhaps having 2 might have messed up things when I went back to pre rooted GB and couldnt boot recovery, so I had to go back to stock
Hopefully this helps somebody who might have similar issues
