Hey guys.
So, I'll be direct. None command worked on my RAZR D3.
Maybe fast boot have a limitation or some kind like that.
Did you see something like this?
Please, if you did, "quote me"hehe

I think different hboots have different commands available, so between devices its likely that they will be different also.

Lol that's a very bad idea to post all those commands
If you dont know what it does.....don't use it!

Most of these commands are HTC-specific. They ain't gonna work on other phones.
Every phone has it's own set of "fastboot oem" commands, only the "fastboot" commands are universal.
Apart from that, Motorola phones don't use HBOOT(HTC BOOT). AFAIK they use a customized ABOOT.

You should try on your Nokia 3310!
These commands are OEM-specific, i.e. not common for Android project.

There is no command to change the imei number and if you need to change your imei it means your phone is declared lost or stolen/linked to unpaid bills.

Unlocking the Amazon Fire HD bootloader

I feel like if we put together a thread, we can share our progress and knowledge on unlocking the Fire HD bootloader which will allow us to root and install custom roms. I want to just put out into the open that I am a noob to Android so I may not make sense sometimes.
I am going to post all the information about the bootloader in this thread, so that people who do not have an HD device can still debug and poke around a little. It is going to start off small, but if people are willing to contribute their knowledge we will add it to the thread!

i wish i had a second one lying around so that i could help out on these initial stages. as it stands, we need a better bootloader. as we get closer to the goal, i'll feel more comfortable using my mom's HD 10.
Having toyed around with fastboot, it seems to me that the blank fastboot screen is less of an issue and more of an added security measure. I think the focus should be on the current capabilities of the bootloader via fastboot, but I'm usually just a novice, instead of focusing on that it's a blank screen. Such as, if you run 2015 7" root scripts on the HD 8/10 it refuses with errors, not lack of device communication. I'd dive in deeper but this is a Christmas gift that I'm using daily around the living room.
I know I'm somewhat stating the obvious but I've read a lot of misleading post regarding a "proper fastboot". I'm thinking this is just an evolved bootloader instead.

I would be happy to setup my device remotely if anyone wants to tinker with the fastboot console.
Is anyone interested in giving me commands to run on my device?
I would start by taking a look at the rootjunkie 5th gen supertool for the 2015 7". Its probably the closest compatible effort, fastboot commands are in the .bat files. You look like you know a thing or two about scripts.

I have already tried this, there is a different fastboot screen, and the bootloader unlock command does not function on HD models.
Send me commands to try if you want me too.

failed to unlock bootloader moto x play 6 (with fastboot)

Hi everybody,
I have a moto x play updated to 6.0 official that i am trying to unlock to root but so far failed.
I have installed ALL drivers then uninstalled then reinstalled more than five times but still failed to get unlock string.
The device is seen in adb/fastboot and the bootloader logs on the device show the commands i am sending but it still says failed try again.
I have followed all advice given on the other posts but same message, so i typed in the getvar all cmd hopeing it could help someone find a solution thanks in advance.

I used this tool "WinDroid" to unlock the bootloader. Its fully automated and very easy to use.
You can unlock your bootloader only with a few mouse clicks. Very handy tool :good:

That is very weird. Just wondering, can you try using mfasboot instead of fastboot? It's the Motorola branded version of the software. Maybe it will help?

I did have it sent for repair a couple of weeks ago because i forget my gmail account details, do you think that has somethink to do with it.
I do not think it will help but maybe worth a try to just factory reset it and see if has an effect.
That might be your best net, you will be erased anyway when you unlock so nothing to lose attempting it.

No luck, i will try a full windows reinstall tomorrow maybe that will help if not i am stuck with a unrooted phone :crying:
I don't think reinstalling Windows will be necessary. I have a feeling something has changed as far as Moto goes. Does your phone have any subsidy on it? Was it purchased out right? Maybe a network unlock is needed? What carrier, if it applies, was it purchased through?

What do you mean by subsidy?.
It was purchased on ebay a couple of days before official launch day. It was unlocked out of the box to any carrier and i haven't had a sim in it at all as i have another phone for that.
Oh okay. A subsidy, in what I'm referring to, is when a phone is purchased with a contract or a tab and has a debt owed against the phone.
Just was curious. But if the phone was purchased before launch I'm wondering if maybe it has a special board with older software in it that won't allow a bootloader unlock.
Very strange, I have never seen anything like it.

No subsidy no contacts.
I brought it off the top of my head between 3-7 days before launch day.
I won't know about old software stuff i'm a novice at the stuff its my second phone in 11 years! and both i've had in the last year so i'm new to this stuff.

A part from unique id strings and region code from this guys getvar all info it looks the same as mine. But i did notice his bootloader date is older (bootloader) date: 08-05-2015 vs mine (bootloader) date: 08-14-2015 if that counts at all, like i said i am new to this.

Where in the process is your unlocking attempt failing? Is it getting the unlock code from your device or requesting the code from Motorola?
Can we see your getvar info?
1) reboot your device to the bootloader. Connect your device to your computer via USB.
2) open an ADB terminal. In the ADB terminal, type 'fastboot getvar all' without the quotes. Press enter. You should get a list of variables about your device.
3) please post or upload the details here, you may wish to omit your IMEI.

Hmm, thanks for that - looks like there's an issue with your device - looking at the getvar info, there's no carrier listed ((bootloader) ro.carrier: unknown ). What software channel is listed on your device under Settings>About Phone?
You may wish to submit the unlock data information and getvar info (including IMEI) to the official Motorola forums: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/MOTOROLA-Android-Developer/Bootloader-Unlock-Problems/td-p/3222809 Please follow the instructions on that thread, and provide all the information they request. Hopefully they can generate an unlock code for you, but please bear in mind they request at least 2 business days once the request is forwarded.
My software channel is reteu, it can Be true that I don't have a carrier, I bought this device stand alone and later put the Sim in. I will see what they can do at the official forums

In that case, that entry in the getvar info should show up as reteu, regardless of if you bought the device standalone. For example, my device was bought direct from Motorola, no phone carrier involved and it reports retgb as the carrier.
Code:

I'd consult the Motorola forum thread on the issue, they may be able to generate a code for you or ask you to submit your device for service.
Okay, thanks for the help! I'll check the forum!

Question TWRP for Cricket Dream 5G

Hi there,
I have a Cricket Dream 5G and so far I have unlocked bootloader, root via magisk, full system image backup as well as GSI support with a TWRP device tree based on the boot.img. However, the system is A/B with dynamic super partition with the recovery image being a ramdisk within the boot image. I've managed to get TWRP to boot and recognize certain device partitions, however, I can't seem to get a fully working TWRP with A/B support.
I'm also curious how I'd go about merging a working TWRP into the boot image, would someone be interested in helping me out with this? I'd be more than happy to provide any firmware files needed or other applicable information.
Thanks a lot!
Update: TWRP is now available! See post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/twrp-for-cricket-dream-5g.4418963/post-86858605

Hi there,
The bootloader can be successfully unlocked using the fastboot command.

Also, I'd be happy to share a Magisk patched boot image with you. Otherwise, you can backup all your partitions using This app and modify the resulting Bootimg with Magisk for root access.
Hope this helps!

I've attached a Magisk Patched Boot image, just flash it to your active slot and you'll have working Magisk. You 'may' have to download the Magisk Manager app after flashing if the Magisk placeholder doesn't show up in your app Drawer.

It's A10 or A11?
For more help you need show the Device Tree - github is prefered. If you PORTed the TWRP you need write where you have the TWRP donor and name of device donor.

Thanks for your reply! I don't recall what donor device I used except it was a device similar in spec running the same chipset (MT6833) and similar screen resolution. The somewhat working twrp will boot up and can be interacted with.. Except there is no A/B support (Wrong TWRP version) and it does not find all the primary partitions in the FSTAB regardless of how much I attempt to modify it to TWRPs liking, I believe that has to do with the dynamic super partition layout and the fact that any image is based off of the boot image since there is no recovery partition and my recovery is a ramdisk inside the boot image.
I tried to compile a version of twrp myself ( Device tree: https://github.com/josephdbrewer55/android_device_Cricket_dream_5G ) with no success. It is A11 based. I really believe a lot of this is operator error on my part, I've never tried to port twrp in the past but I really want to try and kickstart development on this device as it would be great for custom ROMs and development.
Any valuable advice you could give me on this would be greatly appreciated, I'm trying to get a recovery and then after that step attempt to make a working boot image with twrp incorporated.

Very (not much) devices with A10 had A/B support. I even made tests to help another device.
Now you need upload stock boot.img here for know about details. Looking for stock system.img and vendor.img too. If not have so stock super.img file is good too.

Reading my message above so the DT is not simple trying that because not have others important informations by your device.
Others info miss like BOOTIMAGE and you only put this!:
Code:
#BOARD_RECOVERYIMAGE_PARTITION_SIZE := 41943040 # This is the maximum known partition size, but it can be higher, so we just omit it
The A/B devices not have recovery.img partition!
FAQ A/B (Seamless) System Updates Standard partitions Updating partitions
Maybe I can modify or change some informations in the DT of https://github.com/josephdbrewer55/android_device_Cricket_dream_5G but you need change in the: settings - access - Collaborators - Manage access
put my avatar in the box to help u. I'll make something when I have free time.
Some infomations: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/development-for-the-cricket-dream-5g.4414603/post-86767235

How to do: ask @Welkwo or other users with same device and who did the process.
The attached file was compiled for testing.
Spoiler: Informations
1- At this first moment there is only one objective: to know if the TWRP starts.
The compiled TWRP is based on @Josephdbrewer25 user files from this thread: #1 => Development for the Cricket Dream 5G
So, if any user has the stock ROM version different from the one mentioned, it is possible that TWRP will not start.
2- First objective accomplished, so let's move on to other instructions because even if it starts, other steps are needed so that the device can start normally.
Remembering that I haven't put anything related to encryption/decryption yet. So I have an idea of how TWRP might behave in this regard.
3- Will you lose user data?
No! In this first step of the test I don't ask you to do anything other than install TWRP and give me an answer if it started or not.
If you do any formatting procedure or WIPE user data, it's your choice. It will be good, but still your choice.
How install TWRP
I don't really know if adb-fastboot will work on Cricket Dream 5G from what I read above regarding mtkclient. But at this point it is important that only experienced users do the test with what they can, ie adb-fastboot, SPFT or mtkclient and come back writing what worked.
Again: bootloader unlocked!!
Spoiler: Instructions
Unzip zip files to platform-tools folder.
In the device: stock recovery - bootloader => fastboot (not fastbootd)
In the PC cmd command:
Code:
fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmetaAndroidSC_mod.img
fastboot flash boot boot-EC211001-A11-20220423-0924.img
fastboot reboot-recovery
If TWRP does not start
Unzip boot_a-Stock-Cricket_Dream_5G-MT6833-A11.zip & vbmeta_a-Stock-Cricket_Dream_5G-MT6833-A11.zip files in the platform-tools.
Spoiler: Reinstall Stock files
Just install the boot_a-Stock-Cricket_Dream_5G-MT6833-A11.img & vbmeta_a.img files and everything will be fine.
In the PC cmd command:
Code:
fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta_a.img
fastboot flash boot boot_a-Stock-Cricket_Dream_5G-MT6833-A11.img

Code:
fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta_a.img
fastboot flash boot boot_a-Stock-Cricket_Dream_5G-MT6833-A11.img
fastboot reboot

Thank you so much, I've pushed it to my device and currently, we're boot looping on the TWRP startup process. It is communicating via ADB so I have a logcat attached.
Edit: It would not let me upload the txt file, Here is a link to the txt on Mega: https://mega.nz/file/lQJA0ADb#zLodoj3hjv71cyZs3ZK0TADJdvEkvheRmmnbnE5v4PU

Do you can write the steps for instaling TWRP test file?
Can you upload the TWRP from here?: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/development-for-the-cricket-dream-5g.4414603/post-86766931
I need know some informations and compare with my compiled TWRP file. If you remember what device name is from that TWRP so good too.

I flashed the Alpha and modded VBMeta from your post via normal Fastboot to boot_a (My active slot) and booted into recovery from Fastboot. However, I also attempted a normal boot which also kicked me off into the TWRP boot loop.
Here is the file to the ported TWRP that would boot but failed to recognize any partitions, I can't remember what device I ported from though (Newbie error)
Edit: Additional note, I've removed all device encryption

By the way, The Comand that "ADB Devices" is empty, just use fastboot command. it can go in fastboot mode by touch the power button and vol+ button. it normally stop in normal boot mode by power on.
You don't. You can't flash stuff thru fastboot.
