I'm a tad confused, what exactly happened?
Looks like u have data but no phone signal .
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I had some serious radio issues the day I got the phone. "preparing network" for about a day. No data half the time. It went away and now I don't have any issues. Have you flashed anything? Have you updated the firmware?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 2
Update your profile and prl. Sprint could be working on a tower near you?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
It hasn't happened like that since. I've also updated to mdl. I've seen a few cell signal but no data too. That was happening to my previous lte phone too. Very annoying. Yes I've tried updating prl & profile.
have you tried searching for available networks, is there anyone else using the same service provider in your vicinity and facing similar issues.

I use roam control. One of the issues with samsung devices is when in "roam only", they only roam on the 800mhz frequency band.
I'm not sure why this is, and not sure if it's changed since the GS2 (which is what i'm on).
Anyone know if the S4 has this issue?
thanks
Not sure roam control is working yet.
I set it up and when im "roaming" it still shows I'm on sprints network. I get 3g when i force roam (i only got 1x on my e4gt). But like i said, its probably a function of not being compatible yet.

really hope this gets updated for the s4, was thinking of upgrading to this device tomorrow, and i use roam control to force roaming while i am at work.
Me too. But definitely watch your usage. Been a customer for 9 years. Got the boot letter today because of my roaming activities.
Roam Control doesn't seem to be working yet. I need it for when I'm at work also.
oohaylima, were you using the s4? Do you know how much and for how long you were going over the "limit" before you got the boot letter?
@ oohaylima, man that sucks, what were ur averages roaming?, did u have to pay an ETF?, and how many warning letters were u given?

They won't charge anything. They warn customer 2 to 3 times and then cancel your contract if the roaming persists. I've roamed about 60gb the last 2 billing cycles and haven't had any problems yet.

I just got the S4. So it looks like I lucked out on this termination deal.
According to the letter they warned me last November about my usage.
Never got it though. So around 5 months or so.

Don't know the average, but with Sprint, anything over 300 MB while roaming is a big no no.
No ETF fee. They waive it. They give you a month to change services. That's very nice of b them.

Darn right I took that upgrade! I'll be headed over to TING. And since they use Sprint towers, I'll still be in this section.
Any updates on whether Roam Control is working on this phone?
I see the app hasn't been updated for a while, and I know the author doesn't respond quickly (or at all) to support emails, so figured I'd check with the forum.
I never could get it working right on my old phone, but I'm hoping I can still get some use out of this app.

Roam Control still not working on Samsung Galaxy S4. Come on.
So I just got around to rooting my s4 which has been running very nicely and after about an hour of rooting and perhaps 20 mins of continuous usage (browser) the area between the at&t logo and cam lense is much hotter than the rest of the phone. Anyone else getting this?

Im no expert but rooting shouldnt make your phone hot. I thought all it did was to give you more permissions.
My phone gets hot alot if i stream things or leave it on the charger too long
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda premium
Has nothing to do with root...although my phone doesn't breally get hot...its likely just caused by the high wifi/data usage...I know with my old phones if I started using alot of data my phones would get hot fast

Yea there's no correlation. Also, questions belong in Q&A.

I am currently getting this issue out of the 85034 area. I'm not sure about over in different locations. I am rooted with update to mdl , I figure they are doing upgrades/repairs but this makes me think it may not be now. Is this everywhere for you?
Get it mostly at home in the 45305 ( bellbrook, ohio ) area . But I have had it happen in some surrounding areas as well . Doesnt seem to effect anything . Just drives me nuts !

Contacted Sprint via chat for my issue, it appears mine is a network issue. I know you did a restore to your device and i hope sprint would have done this crap but its always best to ask with those dumb shi*s in the store, your roaming settings are enabled? and also have you tried updating the PRL/ and profile under system update?

Your issue is most likely caused by the start of Network Vision in OH.

Hasn't been announced yet, but they started a month ago.

It happened to me to just slide that message away like any other notification and it will go away.

Go to Settings> More Networks> Roaming> Roaming Network> uncheck where you don't want to receive roaming notifications (I unchecked the first two, under Domestic CDMA.)
If these options are grayed out for you (happened to me after moving to MDL OTA), try this:
The next time the roaming guard warning appears, select the check box for "Do not show this warning again" and hit 'ok'. The previously grayed out options should now be available. Uncheck the boxes under Domestic CDMA and you shouldn't get the irritating warning.
Alternately, run Rujelus' Blu Kuban ROM later this week when he's done with the beta and that pain and several others are removed by default.

Hey guys, so I heard that there's a removal sim that I can use on my Sprint S4? I'm planning on leaving to Canada for a couple of weeks and would love to use my phone over there if possible... Anybody got any ideas on how I could do it?
Thanks in advance!
Haha I'm going to canada for 2 weeks this Thursday to see my gf xD

Call sprint and ask them to unlock it. Then pop in a Sim card and I'd you don't get "error no Sim" stuff then you are good to go.

Lately people I have been talking to on the phone have said that my phone calls have sounded muted/muffled. They kind of describe it as I am talking in a tunnel. Anyone else experience anything like this? I am on Clean Rom and am using the incipio feather.
