Many of you have been very patient, so here is a preliminary CyanogenMod 9 build for the Thunderbolt. Flashing instructions are nothing out of the ordinary, just wipe cache, data, and system; install ROM and optional gapps; and reboot. This thread is cross-posted on both InfectedROM and XDA.
ROM:
cm-9-20130602-UNOFFICIAL-mecha.zip
GAPPS:
gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip
Known Issues:
Same as Twisted / Liquid ICS builds:
Camcorder does not work
Video issues with Gmail white-out and no Netflix video
Please report any issues on this Google Docs spreadsheet or this thread.
ROM - No Radio with Evervolv Kernel:
Due to a few requests, I made a build using Evervolv's 2.6.35 kernel that fixes Netflix video and white-outs in Gmail. However, it breaks the radio so I only recommend this to people who no longer have their Thunderbolt in service. Since I need the radio and will not use this version, there are no guarantees long-term.

Awesome work man. Glad to see this up. Pie controls shouldn't be added to this ROM since it is intended to stick to stock cm guidelines. If you want pie controls then put them in yourself or use lmt. Pie controls weren't included in cm until 10.1.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
Screenshots are a good idea, thanks. Pie controls are in Jellybean ROMs galore so there's no need to backport them with JB progress being made (knock on wood). Twisted's kernel is based on liquid's original one for the Thunderbolt, although the newer kernel base from evervolv is where the focus is now. If HTC would release kernel source then a number of things would come together.

Good point, I'm getting a new tbolt next week so I can help speed things along, once it's done, are you still going to continue with cm9?

That's good news. I want to get CM9 to a usable point first then move on to JB, but I'm not sure how much longer I'll have this phone in service with Verizon. Definitely for at least another month.
I heard of this before time of release... thanks for dropping this finally.
I do not have the Thunderbolt but will be glad to allow with assistance
as I have one still available to test on.

Ohh you must be talking about Ubuntu touch. No this won't work for booting that. You need cm10.1 for it to work. From what I understand though is eventually that won't be necessary.

sorry for the misunderstanding. i meant ubuntu touch.
Yea cm9 won't work for that. It takes cm10.1 but Ubuntu touch isn't even at a stage where using it as a dd is even possible. Pretty much all the important parts don't work.

New build is being uploaded now and it fixes the camera (mostly). There's a glitch in that it doesn't update the preview, so when you start the camera or change modes it is black until you take a picture. Recording doesn't work, so this is also limited to what's available in liquid and twisted builds for the time being. FFC does work, however.
To clarify any confusion, this isn't Ubuntu Touch.
Amazing!! I'll be flashing this as soon as I wake up! Thanks for the hard work!!

You're welcome! I'm glad you and others are enjoying it. I'm relieved this got to a usable state around two years after I've had my phone. I'm not sure how much longer the Thunderbolt will be used, but at least people will have options and a source trail.

I'm upgrading off of the Tbolt in just a few days - but after that's done with I should be able to test your broken radio build if you'd like.

Pretty nice. The swipe transitions on the launcher home screen are laggy. The power widget backlight button had a resize issue (not that its needed with the notification bar widget). Animated home screens do not work. Camera still FCs on double tap. GPS, Phone, SMS work.
navigation does work on this rom for me it starts and minutes later loses gps singal and never picks back up
Fyi, I'm having the same GPS issue that I had with omgb... can't find signal, run gps status & toolkit, works for 10 min then loses signal again. Love everything else about this rom but moving from Iowa to Cinci and need gps

Tried out the latest nightly last night. The honeycomb lockscreen is pretty sweet, but I'm having the same problems with GPS wherein it will acquire a lock, then lose it completely 10 minutes later. As I depend on GPS, this makes it a no-go for now.
I'm looking forward to seeing any progress you continue to make on this, nice job!
Just found out Drewgaren released Beta 1 for NS4G too.
Original Post:http://drewgaren.com/DrewGaren.com/ICS/Entries/2011/11/28_ICS_AOSP_BETA_1_-_Nexus_S_3g_and_4g.html
ICS IS HERE AND IT’S GETTING BETTER EVERY SECOND...I have moved to Beta because this build is so stable and nearly everything is fixed.
NOTE: I Do Not Take Responsibility For Anything You Do To Your Phone, I’m Just Trying To Bring Some Love To Crespo Devices.
This roms are stable enough to use as daily drivers
AOSP ICS BETA 1:
Description: I am no longer using the on screen button version build because it not necessary on a smaller screen device such as a Nexus S. This build contains zipaigned and optimized apps along with the ICS_MR0 build. The build fingerprint is aosp along with the full build, and is ICS_MR0 crespo so you will not run into any trouble downloading applications. Most GAPPS will also be upgradeable as well. This build is not tweaked out to the max, there or some slight mods with init.d scripts and build.prop mods but for the most part this build is full aosp with a few modifications to get it running on crespo devices and just work a bit better. In the future I will add more tweaks.
Beta 1 Change log 9:04 PM EST:
Near Perfect Build
Fixed Tethering and Wifi Spot
Fixed Data Usage Meter
Fixed Camcorder
Updated Most Gapps
USB may automatically mount in Windows
Status Bar Wifi Icon Fixed
3G Version Uses Franco Kernel, 4G Uses Matrix 11.5
Built Off Of ICS_MR0 AOSP
Fully Zipaligned
Some Apps Optimized
Removed Videos From System/Media because it takes up space
Removed Sugar Sync
Init.d Scripts
Ads Blocks
Google Talk Video Over 3G Enabled and Working Great
Gapps updatable on Market
Current Build Issues:
Camera effects works on the front camera, however you may receive force closes.

Get real, this IS the oICS ROM... Do you not realize who we're talking about here?? This is just more typical Kang-Bang...
The thing is, if you want to use someone elses work, all you have to do is say so, & give them some credit.
He did the same thing with my DX ROM, Shuji ROM. He took it, added a theme & a few apps & called it Genesis DX, he finally credited me in his post after enough people called him on it. He did the same with Apex, BigXie called him on it, people raised hell, & he blamed it on a mysteriuos guy named SpaceGhost, & said that it was all his fault.
Don't you find it funny that he had NS4G build until aosp posted a fully functional port, then BAM it appears on his forum???

ICS? I might but the only issue is I have limited times to test. I need my 4G when I'm out and at work. But one or two days a week I'm able to do other stuff. I will test for sure though. Just might be a few days till I get back to you. If that's okay send me a pm :-D
Shifted from Outer Space
The current screenshot is a gingerbread kernel based on the latest cm kernel and 4G does work on that for sure. Sound does work unlike a lot of the older cm based kernels that I currently have. The ICS kernel I haven't had time to test yet but it did compile just fine. That's why I need testers. As soon as I'm done adding in all I can to the gingerbread kernel I can test more on ICS. BFS will be included in both gingerbread and ICS versions. Feel free to pm me on which version you'd like to test.
+1 for the scary gov. I build that into every kernel I make lol

Honestly I had to remove Scary and smartass for now because it doesn't really work well with this kernel and bfs. But bfs works nicely
I might try to add scary and smartass back at a later date if I can prevent the lockups...
Oh that blows D: you should pm me a link to the GB kernel id be willing to test. Are you asking for any logs or stats? Or just if things are working as they're supposed to?
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk 2
Mostly I need wimax 4G tested on both version because I'm not in a area where I get 4G. I'm just waiting to here back from someone on if it works on gingerbread so I don't waste my time on the ics ones. Minmax gov is the default gov for now and it works fine. Interactive gov is the default for toastcfh's kernel so that should work fine as well.
No wimax here either only time I've ever had wimax was once I took a vacation to Florida lol.

So far I have two testers but have not heard back yet from either one I can be patient though. I haven't had time lately to work on the ics one. I'm still debating on trying to make the ics kernel a 3.0 kernel because I heard 3.0 kernels work better on ics.
They do and I would love you forever if you did that

Sent you a PM, also I get 4G where I'm at so I can test that, let me know you're still looking for testers.

The ICS kernel is working great on deck's latset pb version. Also camera and camcorder work fine as well
I'll be sending links to people soon that pm'd me for testing. There's no wimax 4G option in decks roms yet so we can't test 4G on it D-:
I haven't added much overclocking but bfs is working so far.

PM's sent thanks again to all the testers. I'll be adding more stuff to the ics kernels at a later date but for now the kernel "just works"

ok so far, running decks latest (confirmed checksum correct) and your #4 kernel, camera and camcorder "Unfortunately, Camera has stopped"

Yeah camcorder is a no go. You can use camera if you reboot, but if force closes it won't work at all unless you do like a hot reboot or something. Sms and mms do work though. I'll see if there's anything I can do on my end for the camera but I fear it may be on the rom side of things.

will play around with it for a bit and some other ics roms and see if i can get anything else to break
running miui v1 now (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762873) and i have camera working and getting a preview for video. nothing new for that rom but i'm thinking camera issue has to be in rom.

A friend of mine advised me that there might be a issue with media_profiles.xml for camcorder issues on ics roms. I don't know if there's much I can do with that in the kernel. The kernel is based on cyanogenmod's latest 7x30 ics branch on github. The source is available on my github if anyone wants to use it in the roms and I'll be merging remote updates as they come out. I think for now this may be good enough to put in the development section.

Oh wow how did I miss Cyanogenmod putting out an ICS kernel for the shift. I blame MIUI lol. But I haven't had any issues with it so far today I definitely think its ready for dev section

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4 (KitKat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:

* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.

Big thanks to Omni Rom developers maxwen and Entropy512 for doing the initial 4.4 port.
Great to see a new version of CM for our Find 5. One question before flashing how many CM-features are added or is it almost plain AOSP?
Wow Thanks, finaly cm 11 will test drive this one

So far so good. Customization is still kind of limited. No clock, battery, status bar mods, etc. But definitely smooth. Will post once I test battery.

When you say data wipe do you mean a full wipe, including SD?
I'm coming from 4.3 Btw.

kernel
which kernel are you using for this? the cm10.1 kernel used to be quite crappy in the days. @maxwen and the guys from cfxe managed to create much better ones...
runs really smooth so far but just testing it for a few hours now
Looks pretty neat.

Not SD, wipe of data but not SD storage.

Seems pretty stable.. Have not encountered serious bugs, except some fcs. All in all it looks and feels pretty neat, but I was wondering if it would be possible to disable the capacitive keys and have a more Nexus 5-ish feel to it
edit: found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2339104 which actually works without any problem
It doesn't seem I am able to disable NFC.

Disable it (so it's greyed out), then reboot your phone, that should do the trick
How about multiwindows?
Is this include in this rom?

Nope, only OmniRom has this feature.
Small problem. Upon reboot my folders are empty and if I press them the launcher crashes.

works great
There's still a problem with hangout video calls. But, it can be fixed with the previous fix. You can just Google it.
Great ROM, Any possibility of getting Voice+ enabeled in it? I use Googloe Voice for everything and having is really important to me.
I'm having issues with DSP messing up the audio, when playing bassheavy music it clips the audio and it sounds horrible Don't know if I'm the only one having this issue?
Otherwise great ROM, I know it's still in progress, but
- Slide notification panel to adjust light,
- Drag right side to enter fast notifications
- Battery style with procent
would be great!
Good job

I don't know if it's the same setting you had in mind, but there's a setting in the Interface>Quick Settings Panel called 'quick pulldown' that will allow you to access the settings by sliding down on either the right or left side, depending on your setting.
hi all, this ROM seems to be off to a good start! all works reasonably well...
I shall however point out that I'm having issues with Google+... the app crashes immediately after it starts. also, I randomly receive a flash telling me Google+ has force closed while using hangouts or other Google apps.
I believe this could have something to do with my camera being broken... so maybe Google+ looks for the hardware (which fails because it's broken) and then force closes when the camera doesn't respond?
thanks!
