They didn't patch it yet right ?
I've seen no OTA
I installed the one like a week ago and I was still able to root and everything so no patch on the root. However if the one you're talking about has just come out within like the last 48 hours DO NOT install it. But just to be safe I wouldnt install any of them just in case and the boot loader will be unlocked very very soon so I wouldn't even bother updating unless you want to stay on stock for a long time, if not forever.

Because your phone is being used on T-Mobile, your update will come from T-Mobile. Pretty sure that is what the axman was saying. I had a tmo phone on att at one point and got my updates from att....
I'm not sure how that works for our device, so you may not get an update at all from Tmo. But yes in general your update would come from tmo.

I haven't gotten the update either. I'm on an ATT i337 running Tmo SIM. Kies still says I'm current, and I've tried changing my phone's date to August 1st and still no update. If I'm on an ATT phone but using Tmo, will the OTA update work from Settings?

correct me if i'm wrong here.. i thought i read from that it's best not to do OTA updates if your usage preferences rely on root and/or custom roms and kernels.. i only use odin because from what i understand, that is usually the safest way to fully wipe and restore/upgrade/downgrade mobile devices running android. am i wrong? curious.

1. There's an edit button you can use to modify posts instead of double, triple, quadruple posting.
2. You took the OTA therefor you can't flash anything due to the locked bootloader.

I gave you an affirmative answer. The bootloader is locked therefor you cannot flash a ROM OR even root because it won't let you. If there WAS a way then you wouldn't be asking.

No you can't and this is the wrong section.
My phone began to update the firmware when ever I would connect to wifi... I couldn't disable the automatic update... so what I did was remove the "att firmware update apk" via titanium backup

If you mean unroot, then you unfortunately cannot do that at the moment. There is no MF3 factory image to flash back to, as of now at least.

I've never tried it with mf3 so I can't answer that. It works on other firmware. Why do you want to unroot?
Because, I've always had bad luck with root and everything never works for me when I try it. Once a stable rom comes out, I will try my luck, but not at this moment.

Good choice. Sorry I can't be of more help
I don't think just rooting is going to cause issues. Keep it and enjoy those benefits for now.
My BackUp Pro is good for backing up most things on phone. Of course you got Titanium BackUp too.
I didn't even want to flash roms on this phone. After years of doing it I was getting tired. But, did it anyway. I like TW, so don't care about aosp etc. All I really gained from flashing was some theming and nandroids. Phone, I thought, was exceptional even unrooted.

Doubt it...most of the devs that might be capable moved on from Verizon and really do not care. The reason being soon as a exploit is found and released it then is patched by the next update. It's a cat and mouse game not worth playing. There are methods out there that allow you have rooted 4.4.2, The sticky at the top of this section explains it all. "Never Accept OTA Updates".
