That was just a reproduction of this one, which is much better since all the components are listed in text and comments.

Too me it look just like an additional hardware button to a LED directly connected to the battery. You'd have to push both buttons!
A more skillfully performed project would allow you to use one of the GPIO's with a hacked Camera app to trigger the flash.
Can you find anything similar in English? Looks like a really awesome project to do
Maybe a capacitive button could be added with some tweaking

At least a button that can be toggled... It looks like he had to press and hold.

Yea I noticed he was pressing a little. A toggle switch makes more sense.

Well, I dont think it could work as normal flash because i think the kernel doesnt have the needed libs or drivers?
Anyway camera still not working properly on CM9 for SGS+
Is our phone the only one of Galaxy Series who doesnt have integrated flash?
Why would you install an additional led when the phone is not designed for it
I think that is just kinda unneeded

It's not like it's just there to look cool. It's a flash for the camera. A lot of scenes need flash to improve the picture.

Looks quite nice, bu for me it's to risky to mod my phone like that. I would rather prefer to raise money to by a phone with builtin flash
nice work but english pls
cool :good:
It strikes me that you might be able to accomplish an LED upgrade without needing to find any new way of triggering it. You could use a small SMD mosfet connected in place of the existing LED, to switch on a higher current LED that was regulated with a single AMC7135 fed from a battery feed. All three components (AMC7135, SMD mosfet, and LED) could fit on one very tiny accessory board.
I'm not familiar with the SGS to know whether there is room for this, but it could certainly be made quite small.
It may only be a simple feature but it's really important for me and makes a huge difference.

I can't think of any smartphones these days, at least the flagship ones, that does not have a notification led.

My white Note 3 has somewhat week led light when it is light outside. Any info if they corrected this in Note 4?

Hi. Yes it does, i would imagine you figured it out by now, but just in case. You go to settings--> Display--->LED indicator, make sure the box for this option is checked. This will enable the LED light to blink again for notifications when your screen is off.
I know how important this little feature can be. I work from home, and that little light helps me stay up to date with all that is going on in my business. it lets me know when there is something new going on that i need to check out.
Hope this helps

Ask nexus 6 users if they have a notification light out of the box lol

But I think note 4 has only 3 colors, red green blue , at least that's how it's on mine note 4. It's not showing any other colors even lightflow not working.

I use light manager and am getting almost every color under the rainbow. Check it out.
Lightflow is not working, but the custom lights in Whatsapp is working - it lights purple when set ...
Someone to have an idea why whatsapp can control LED but another applications cannot?
I've just choose for example a white led for whatsapp notifications, and when a msg come in, all colors led shows, instead of only the white that I choose... so strange,
what can I do??
This seems perfectly normal, to get white color with an RGB (red, green and blue) LED you need all LEDs on at the same time, unless you have a RGBW LED which this phone doesn't have. ?
Skickat från min ONE A2003 via Tapatalk
you are not alone in that ...
I have the same issue but...only when using Whatsupp.
strange
No comprehende? There's no white LED, thus all colors light up to make it look almost white. Black being lack of color and white being all colors at once, basic light physics heey come on guys. ?
Skickat från min ONE A2003 via Tapatalk
No, it shows one color at a time. For example, blue, red, green, and then white. No all togethers... Strange...
So it's like a rainbow party? ? or disco

I dont undserstand what r u talking about
God, I'm still using my Oneplus 3t, The Oneplus 5 is sitting in its box.
I couldn't be more let down by the Notification led that they should have called the "I CAN BARELY SEE IT LED"
And the dim blue navigation button lights are so dim compared to the Oneplus 3t white ones as well.
Seriously, It has one job...To NOTIFY...what was the point of making it so dim you can't see it in a lit room unless the phone is in your hand.
I've tried Custom Firmware (Resurrection Remix), I've tried Light Flow...Nothing ...That Dim Led is already at 100% and about 1/4 the brightness of the 3t.
Sadly I come from Australia, Not a county Oneplus sells to so no returning for me.
Thats $770 down the drain, I rely heavily on the NOTIFICATION LED (If you're reading this Oneplus...Thats NOTIFICATION...as in NOTIFYING..like, being VISIBLE)
It's sad, A notification led is one of the things that really separates us from Iphone users.
Maybe with a firmware update but i doubt it...I have the terrible feeling they're at full brightness...But lets hope
I don't mind the capacitive buttons being dim since I turn off lights anyway. But yeah, the notification LED is pretty dim for whatever reason.
I guess the best option for those who rely on notifications is to turn on Ambient Display.
I actually like the navigation leds being on, I set them to be on as long as the screen is on.
I could live with them, but the notification led... It's like what's next.. A camera that doesn't take pictures, a battery that doesn't charge, a speaker that makes no sound.
It's a NOTIFICATION Led, one job.. To be able to notify you ?*
""A notification led is one of the things that really separates us from Iphone users.""
but having a 3T and a op5 in a box. Apple fan boii much, buying phones every year, what a waste/overconsumption.
Ummm, no... I said I have a Oneplus 5 in a box.
I'm a tad confused by your
A) Obvious hostility towards me.
B) Having two android phones makes me an "Apple fan boii" how
I've actually never owned an Apple anything
Using the ElementalX kernel i increased the brightness of the LED. i would say it is more than adequate for my needs at least. Might be worth a try?
I'm also disappointed by the notification led being so dimm..
But if a kernel can brighten it up, maybe OnePlus can do it too.
I'd rather a custom OS, right now it's running Resurrection Remix Official, but not many kernels seem compatible with it.
And unlike RR on the Oneplus 3t, I don't feel it's very polisher on the Plus 5.... The Vibration is a bit glitchy, it tends to skip some key presses.. I mean if you press a key numerous times in a row.. Sometimes you'll get no haptic feedback.
I'm currently exploring other firmwares.
I really miss Xposed Framework ?
I'll let you know how I go.
They're almost unbrickable so I'm pretty gungho about flashing ****.

How did you increase the brighness? According to the commit message, the value in the kernel setting can be set between 1% and 100% brighness level of the stock value, ie no way to increase over stock value. Or am I missing something?

I use EX Kernel Manager. Under Misc. there is a section for Notification LED, fade speed, intensity and fade enable/disable. set my intensity to 9 and all is fine for my needs. On par with my 6P
9 should mean 9% of stock setting, so should be very low.. Must be something I am missing.. ?

It may have been a typo and he meant 90%.
And perhaps stock isn't set to maximum in the first place?

Stock is at 50%, but with light manager you can set to 100% without root or kernel. But that doesn't change enough to make the led good.

Lightflow can do it, but i find the colors from the led are somewhat poor, white and light blue look similar, there are only a handful of colors you can choose before you can't tell them apart.

Maybe try light manager and see if that works. While I don't use it for different phone numbers, I do use it for differ ent tasks and have found the color spectrum to work well.
Thanks!
I'll checkout the mentioned tools. Thanks for replying on that topic. Cheers.
