Nexus 10 wallpapers - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The screen resolution on this beast is awesome... But I have a question. I find it impossible to find good wallpapers. It always gets pixilated when set. Anyone know a good site or wallpaper app for this resolution?

I've been using the ridiculous 8 megapixel captures that Forza 4 can produce. If you're a car person, you can tell me any car (2013 model or older) and I can see if its in the game, and I can get you a wallpaper for it. They look great (they're like 3,000+ pixels wide). Otherwise, I've had mixed experience with finding wallpapers.

So I'm not the only one with such a problem I'm not a car person... But I do like the Mercedes SLR... I have never put a car for wallpaper either on phone or on tablet.. First time will be now

Give me a couple days and I'll get you a Google Drive link for the gorgeous Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR 722 Any particular colour, or traditional McLaren silver? Or perhaps the Stirling Moss edition?
I've found 1920x1200 wallpapers work fairly well, as well as anything larger. 1280x800-sized ones don't look terrible, but its hard finding huge images and renders.

Don't care of the colour...It just should look good and sexy

Wilco. I'll link you a sample of what the image will be like, quality-wise, in the meantime. But yeah, anything 1080p or larger looks fine, even if its not a 4MP image like the screen is. I'll try to grab the SLR tonight.

I use this on my N10.

Take your time
Not in a hurry. And thank you!

Here ya go. Took two tries since I totalled the car on the first
Here's your wallpapeh. Try it out and see how good these look on N10's.

So you can see what it will look like in both portrait and landscape.

And all the 1280x800 wallpapers everyone said is correct for Nexus 7 are no good either, can't use the whole image The cropped parts are just too zoomed in and don't look high-res.
I'm having better luck using my 1920x1080 wallpapers on it.
I would recommend searching for 2560. It yields results for both 2560x1440 and 2560x1600.
This is where I looked for mine.

If you don't use a launcher that rotates, you can use Wallpaper Wizardry from the Play Store to set the wallpaper to use the whole 1280x800 image. If you allow your launcher to rotate to landscape the image will be cropped and have black bars on the sides.

wallpaper wizardrys black bars in landscape are what annoy me, i wish there was a solution where we could crop both landscape and portrait separately in stock Google

[Q] question Android 4.2 Nexus 4 360° panoramas

The new model of google smartphone.
they wirte on the selling page"Amazing Photo Sphere camera you’ll have to see to believe.
The first phone with 360° panoramas.
It’s like no camera you’ve ever seen. Up down and all around you, with Nexus 4 it’s more than panoramic, it’s like you’re actually there."
and can anyone show more about the : 360° panoramas about this phone
Check out some examples on Google+: https://plus.google.com/photos/110023707389740934545/albums/5808606988734372865
The images are only a 360°C sphere when uploaded onto Google+, on all other occasions they're just flat huge panorama-like photo's, made of 20+ photo's stitched together.
Has anyone actually managed a perfect picture using this 360 camera app?
If you check those examples. https://plus.google.com/photos/110023707389740934545/albums/5808606988734372865/5815232959605498370
This one ^ This is the similar to the result I get though mine are much worse. The bits where the parts don't match or doubled up....
When I shot a photoshere, it worked in my mobile but when I shared it to Google+, it was like just a photo, without sphere button on it. How did you do it? , sorry for the dumb question.

It's easy to get perfect if you shoot landscapes. I've got some great ones while hiking/snowshoeing. Close up objects are difficult to get right. There is a thread around here somewhere with tips on how to improve your shots. The tip I remember is to keep the phone in the same place in space and rotate it rather than you to get the shot.

This app right here. Has a bunch of awesome shots.

since asking the question I have taken quite a few of these Even on Googles how to take them decribes the camera as not being able to do close objects or people. Then I realised it wasn't me messing up

Yes, I completed the shot. It works in Gallery and if I copy it to PC and upload to G+ it works too. Dunno what went wrong with either Gallery or G+ in my mobile that prevented me from doing just that.

To get a perfect shot you need to rotate the phone about the lens, and not your body. Now do you see the problem? It's pretty much impossible to achieve without external devices.

It may have been more clear what he was replying to if he quoted the post but the point is far from nonsense seeing as it's completely true. The only way to achieve a perfect photosphere is to use the camera lens as the centre of the panorama and rotate the device around that point.
I have quite a few perfect 360° shots by rotating myself not the phone.

You can take some very good photo sphere by rotating your body, but they won't be "perfect" because you are using your body as the axis instead of the camera lens. When you view a photo sphere, you are viewing it from the center point of the sphere. If you used your body as the axis, there is going to be small amount of stretching because the photos are taken at a distance from the center point of the sphere.

Are you talking about the mini planet ones or the 360° ones?
Here's one I did rotating my body ad the axis, seems pretty close to perfect I can get.

N4 resolution discrepancy!

Hey,
So my phone is a 303k and has a resolution of 768x1184 as opposed to the advertised 768x1280. This is extremely weird!
What are your guys resolutions?
Here's an app to check your resolution

Thanks for looking!

Its because of the Virtual keys I believe.

It is 768x1280, but apps only have 768x1184 available to them because the on screen buttons take up some real estate.
The same as you

also chrome reports the wrong results when using what is my resolution
Definitely the navbar. Expanded desktop shows 768x1280.

Am I the only one who sees obvious pixelation in some widgets? The analog clock for instance doesn't seem to be in HD as some of other stock google widgets, I really hope they upgrade this
DUDE stop posting everywhere your phone is FINE its cause the nav bar
Guys!!! Its not the nave bar! Its the chrome browser or the app. Check the difference between chrom and aosp browser. I'll put pictures.

I actually notice a lot of pixelation. That was primarily my main concern of checking the resolution

It's from the Nav bar eating up pixels.

If you use PIE you can regain those pixels or you can even shrink it on certain ROMs.

Whoops, accidentally thanked your post. That was a complete mistake. What exactly is the problem here? Are you saying that you think your screen is not 1280x768, or is the text all pixelated? Because you just seem to be complaining about numbers on the screen, while you're having no actual problems with using the browser. Could you specify your exact problem, other than the fact that the numbers are off?

He's complaining about both I think. Because he thinks the screen is defective, he's starting to notice micro-imperfections, and attributing them to a messed up display. The display does have the full resolution advertised, which you're able to fully utilize in apps that support fullscreen mode, like some video applications. The nav bar is just part of the package, but there's no real dishonesty in the advertising or anything.
The reason you have the difference between Chrome and stock Android browser is because Chrome has a pseudo-fullscreen mode now that hides the address bar automatically.
Don't worry man. Your screen is just fine. Be happy that you have a Nexus 4. It's quite an extraordinary smartphone.
My IQ dropped 40 points after I read the OP.

Nexus 6 Wallpapers!

So while I was setting up my phone I noticed that there are no wallpapers that look good on the screen. (They end up being blown out, pixilated, or just does not look good at all. Then I noticed there wasn't a running thread of just wallpapers optimized for the screen size. So if you have a nice wallpaper that looks good on the 6, post it here!
[I'll upload some once I find some I like]
Just use Wally on play store and filter to 2560 x 1440 and your golden :good:
