I was wondering if there is a way to change the boot up video to something else. I have the video I want selected and sized just no clue how set it in place, if that's even available right now.

Assume you are talking about the bootanimation? The Sprint one? If so, this should get you started: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2272729

Ok, we've seen things picking up for the NS4g and as development continues, I haven't seen this brought up. I love the Google slash screen on boot. It looks like heaven, but upon root a little lock appeared at the bottom, ruining my heaven with a opened gate. Anybody have some input on how to hide it? Give me a rough idea and ill try to make something flashable. Just a little inexperienced to just jump in.

Not possible.
Sent from my Nexus One using Tapatalk
it is possible. i did it to mine just to test it out, therefore relocking the bootloader. via fastboot, type in the command "fastboot oem lock"...
Yeah well next time you need to access the bootloader and you have to unlock it it's going to wipe your entire storage and device.

Yeah I thought just locking it too,but didn't for that reason. Sucks its not possible, I hate the lock.

Out of all the time u will spend looking at your phone, how often do u have to see this lock really?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
If it bugs u that much, just back up ur phone. But I agree it is an inconvenience.

I've been looking for the splashscreen folder (if there is one) in root explorer. Can't seem to locate it. I'd like to make some custom splashscreens.

People were looking for months to try to change it on the N1, with zero luck. It's not possible and completely inaccessible guys.

The .png for the lock must be somewhere, if you can decompile and replace that .png with a transparent one

This line is in /init.rc:
export ANDROID_BOOTLOGO 1
Does that tell you anything?
Nope, not really

Franco's kernel doesn't interfere with your application. It's mostly due to the application itself. Just uninstall and re-install again and see how it goes from here.

Is there any way to check if this file is original and not modified? I wouldn't like to make any purchase with possibly altered file (or maybe google included some security for such a case?).
Thank you, looks much better.

It's signed by Google, so It's unmodified (I guess?)

Same here, new Play-store is dummed down too much for my taste. The decrease of font-size is annoying too.

Wait for the update in your phone...
You know that by simpling installing a ROM in your phone it could have any .apk modified to steal your info... rite? Anyway, no one would do that... I hope...

The dumbest thing about it is placing the "update" and "uninstall" buttons so ultra-close together and making them so super-small. What happened to Google's UI common sense?
Now, every time you update an app, I have to be careful not to accidentally push "uninstall" and I don't even have fat fingers!
Does anyone experience laggy scrolling performance in the new Play Store?

It's kind of stuttery/laggy here. So is gmail list scrolling, so is YouTube app.
Seems like scrolling in lists does not work well on my phone. Web browsing for instance, is much smoother.
When installing an app with Play Store, it can actuallly be smoother than unloaded. I'm running MC3 fw, but the problem has always been present. Did a factory reset a few days ago, but it did not help.

I believe it would be in the system folder and probably called boot sound. You'll need root and a root enabled file browser to get to it though

How often do you have to restart your phone?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda premium
It's in system-audio-ui, called boot.ogg
I replaced mine with the iron man "importing virtual preferences" audio clip
To get get rid of it just delete the audio file(or rename it)

It's actually in system/media/audio/ui, and it's called PowerOn.ogg.

You will most likely have to edit the build.prop to a phone actually supports tmo tv
So how do I edit the build.prop to make it work?
