Hey guys! Soo i have been using Nexus 4 for about 2 months now, aand I have been in reach with both my cousins s4¬e2 ive played with them and i found the note's multi-screen and pop up feature useful. Well i dont like having to download on 3rd party on google, well either its buggy of i'd have to buy go use all the features.... So i'd want to request if it were possible to port the features, if we can, add in the new apps and features the S4 has as well. Thank you to people who would help and i apologize to those who would find this post annoying. Again, thanks in advance
It'll require porting the touchwiz framework.

My frind have sgs3 and he have multiview
The N4 have the same? and how can we do that ?

That's a Samsung Touchwiz feature, not on the N4 until the rom is ported
I am hoping someone can find a way to make it work without the need to port touch wiz, seeing as most people buy the N4 because it'd plain vanilla android

I had the note 2 and never really used it but only to show off. It is an amazing feature though and I'm sure lots of people use it.

I hope its gets ported as well I miss showing that off with my Note 2 lol...its a very good feature if you wanna text and do something else at the same time....if that comes to the N4 that would only make this device that much more greater...
I will like to do this in my N4 too. It would be cool to do two things at once. Hey btw didn't the video ad of the LG Optimus G showed the person watching the a video while he was sending a text?? Where is this function in my N4?

Hi,
There is not (have you read the thread? )... You can search on the Play Store there are some apps wich allow this (search for floating video, floating browser, floating sms, etc) but it's not in native on the N4... We have a pure Android device, not a Touchwiz or whatever overlay... But some apps does the job... So you'll can do something else while regarding a video for example...
Sms: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hkdevelopers.apps.multiWindow.messenger.free
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.floating.message

AW: Multiview in N4
I thought that touchwiz allows to use multiview with every app. Compared to that, these apps are only compromises.

AFAIK this can only be achieved by modding. Otherwise its a set list of apps that can do it.
If you want a definitive answer search on the SGS3 or GN2 forums.
Is't possible to grasp some of Galaxy Note 2 multitasking suit to Nexus 4? If I'm not wrong Nexus 4 is like a blank canvas that can be painted easily. So it means it can handle any software unless some hardware incompatibility? ,. Just to be honest I'm happy& thankful to see many devs coming up with new ROMS, but but I don't really see much of any difference from the stock ROM. Gaining some of the unique features from Glaxy Note 2 or LG Optimus G & etc,. would be really cool. And I think that's the point of having a Nexus 4 right? lol
Porting over functions and apps from other devices is not as easy as you make it out, it takes a lot of work. In a lot of instances it isn't worth the effort you have to put in especially when it comes to functions found only in Samsung's Touchwiz or HTC's Sense.
Hmmm....maybe some Genius Dev can change the restriction scripts or exploit it so it will run on stock ROM or make a modd so those suits will think its the native rom. lol.

Try to port the app yourself, then you'll see how involved things like this can get. You have the 'want", just set in motion the 'drive/motivation' by either learning how-to's or setting up a bounty for said request.
GL
ROFL...if I know how to edit scripts and do some deving...I would love too..but its not in my field of expertise .

Hey, I'm not really a dev, although someday I would like to get more into it, I just don't have the time at the moment. But I was wondering, if a feature like the Galaxy Note II's dual pane could be integrated into ROMs. Personally, I use PA 2.99, and I think that being able to browse the web while having AIM open at the same time would be just awesome. I feel that the nexus could handle it just fine. Thanks for considering the idea! Oh, and if this already exists and I missed it, please let me know.
People are already working on this (use search!)

Ive been searching these forums for about a month about the s4 which I now own. I used to have a samsung infuse and was very active on the xda infuse forums. When rooting that phone infuse users lost a lot of features like mhl hdmi, hi res cam etc. With rooting the s4 what is lost? From what I can find it seems like only the air gesture features are lost. What else is lost and is it that way on all the roms. I want to root this device but not if I lose things like bluetooth or cam. I maybe can deal with no air gesture things. Thanks in advance. Sorry if this is answered I have tried to find as much info as possible before posting here.

If you stick with stuff in the Android dev (stock based ROMs with TW) section and not the Original dev, you won't loose anything. Just pick one that keeps that stuff, or has a flashable add on for it. Some remove it to keep the ROM lite if the dev feels not many use the feature.

Hey everyone!
This phone is awesome but it has IMHO a small fallback which is the lack of some true multitasking capabilities.
What I mean is although we have Qslide it is most probably useless if we can't run any app in it.
Just like Galaxy Note series have the Multiwindow manager app or Spwn window app that allows just any app to run in this mode, we should have this on our G2 with Qslide.
It will be awesome. Just imagine you are playing a game and you get whatsapp so you check it on the go and continue playing. Or browsing the web and you check the gmail you just got without leaving the browser.
BTW that's what I do with Halo on Paranoid android on my Nexus 4. However it's a waste to dumb the awesome stock Rom of the G2 to just get this advantage.
Please devs consider this as a serious and urgent request. I know many want this.
Hope I was a dev, I would have helped but I am willing to test.
Thanks and regards!

Well looks like I was wrong! It looks like nobody wants this feature!
But what is bugging me is that with over 60 views, I didn't get any "+1" or "agreed" replies, or even "no need" or "STFU" replies or any kind of reply.
Have a nice day everyone!
+1. Nice to have Whatsup on the top and scrolling through news for example. Nice feature to get. I am sure someday we can get it. ))
It's probably just a matter of the apps being built for it, and tricking the Qslide into letting you use non LG apps for it.
The Devs did it fairly quickly on my Galaxy Note 10.1
I'm afraid it's not THAT easy for us as it was on the note. I had it on my note 10.1 and it's now available on note 3. Also let's not forget about the half-screen double apps running at same time (i dunno what it's called ); they also modified it to allow any app do that.
Wish it happens anytime soon!

I don't understand why someone would even want qslide when you have the native android multi tasking abilities?
I told you why bro. It's just like Halo if you ever tried it on Paranoid android Roms. The native multitasking requires you to quite one app to be able to use the other.
Qslide (and multiwindow in note) allows you to run an app simultaneously while you are using another app and on top of it.
It's much much more convenient. If you've never tried it I can understand your thoughts!

I can't deny your point at all. Once I tried the Halo from PA I really think this guy bring the multi-tasking to another level by other means. Brilliant feature! Custom ROM with Halo is the first choice of my flashing hobby by then.
However, with LG G2 I would like to stay with the stock. It has really good features with ease to access and use that makes all the things so convenience. I would also like to see very much the implementation of Qslide with any 3rd party apps...or Halo ported to stock ROM since it's open source now
