Driver Issues with Motorola MC40 Device - Java for Android App Development

Hi all, not sure where to put this thread, so I thought this would be a good start.
I have a Motorola MC40 device that is used for scanning items in a retail store. I am need to write a little app for it, but cannot get Eclipse to see the device. I've tried the only suggestion I can find on the internet on StackOverflow (search mc40, i can't post links here yet), but my Win7/64bit computer isn't seeing the device.
I've tried viewing it with adb devices and have made sure that I am updating the correct SDK files... still no go.
I remember having to do something like this with my Kindle fire initially, but it wasn't this hard to get working.
Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!

...Still looking for a solution. I cannot figure this out! BLAH...

This is the APP development section. This is not for driver and therefore kernel related things.

Thanks for the reply. I've posted it Android Development and Hacking > Miscellaneous Android Development. Appreciate the guidance!

[Q] Root asus transformer

hey guys brandon back again not here though cause xda would not let me post in dev. until i posted 10 generals not a fan of that rule however..... i am currently running stock 3.1 with build hmj37_us_epad-8.4.4.5-20110527 and my kernal is 2.6.36.3-00001-gf377a2b i am not sure if all of the number are important but i want to make sure i do and ask this correctly i am trying to root with cwm with custom rom i have been seeing that i have to downgrade to 3.0.1 to get root is there anyway around that possible one click root or whatever and another thing is this prosedure reversiable, sorry for so many questions i really want to do this right cause this is one of these situation where i can't just turn my bricked device back to asus like i did with sprint many times just to get a newer phone. any links and advise would be helpful thanks guys
The reason xda doesn't let you post here before you get 10 post is to avoid some irrelevant post like this one in this section. It has nothing to do with android developmen, it should be in general. And for your question read and search a little there are many threads about it. For exemple the thread about WIP of one click root in this section, so there is none yet.

Wrong. There is a one-click root. Use NVFlash.
Not really one-click because you have to set up the drivers, but after you do that. You're pretty much golden. Just set TF101 in APX mode and then double click download.bat
ok what about a general adb root running 3.1 i can't seems to find anything specific to that current version they seem to be general rooting methods

because it is general, NVFlash works regardless of android version. this is why they don't let you post here until 10 posts
can you send me the link please and adb i have never really used that before is there a link for that, drivers is that on asus.com is there a specific driver i should be looking for like name specific thanks what about cmw?
Google android adb.
Searching is fundamental.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium App
It's all in the dev sections what you need to get root. search NVflash

New to xda

My first post here.. I have a Sprint Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch that I received a few weeks ago as a work phone. I've gone through the update to ICS, then, using this forum, have now gone back to GB EL29.. I used the process described in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1433101
to restore GB and to root my phone. All that went very well.
Now for my next step in the world of rooting.. now that I'm rooted, what can I do? I dont think I installed the CWM during this process, so not sure what that is/does and how to install it.
My primary goal for doing this is as follows:
1) be able to remove bloatware from my phone
2) be able to access/install apps that are not available through GooglePlay
Can this be done with what I've done so far (only rooted the phone), or do I need to install CWM or other programs.
Thanks for all the help...

You can do number 2 even without rooting. You can install every apk you with on your phone. Just tick the option "allow unknown sources" in the settings.
For question number 1:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1442549
If you had been reading and following the rules there would have been any reason to open this thread.
Your first post here, and you posted in the wrong device forum. You're currently posted in the I9100 Galaxy SII forum. You have an Epic 4G Touch. That device has a separate forum. Though Schindler33 meant well above, I advise you NOT to follow any of the directions or flash any firmwares/ROMs/kernels found in his link... since all of those links are to things meant for the I9100.
I find this somewhat ironic, since your own link above is to a post in the correct forum for your device.

I was looking under this section http://forum.xda-developers.com/ and didn't see an Epic 4G Touch section, thus my reason for posting in this section. But thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I'll head over there now. I appreciate the feedback for a new user..

[Q] Just got the phone, what can I do with it? (Rogers)

Hello all, I come from the sgh-t959 forums. I just purchased an S4 (rogers variant) about an hour ago, and now I'm eager to learn what fun stuff I can do with this. So I have a few questions to ask you to feel more comfortable with this phone .
Are different roms worth putting on? I only cm on my old phone because stock was 2.3.6, this bad boy runs 4.3.
I found the root procedure for my phone, will it the procedure work on the new firmware? (Link below to the procedure I'm referring to)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2293800 = link to the auto root thread I was talking to above
Is there any fun tweak's I should be aware of to put on it?
Any apps that are most have on it?
Can't wait to get this baby to the latest android.
Any links or information related to my phone model are much appreciated, because theirs so much to sort through.
So yeah, hello Samsung S4 section of XDA, I hope I'll get along with you all.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
I am a noob here until further notice
You need to read the "pinned" threads in the 'general" and "Q&A" sections before you do anything. Almost all questions about the S4 have already been asked and most of the answers can be found in those threads or through the threads linked in them. The search function will also be useful. Make sure you follow the XDA rules and search before asking. Above all, remember, this is a development site. It is up to you to search read and learn about your device before you do anything to it. If you follow these suggestions, you should do just fine. Good luck.
Ahhh perfect, can you delete your post so I can delete this thread?
Edit: MODZZZ delete my noobish thread please/

Can't access extsdcard in terminal.

Trying to hack tethering but it says no such directory...any tips? Tried a ton of things.
This is probably the wrong place to ask but I'm a noob to this forum

First off, questions go in Q&A, and will be marked with a [Q] before the title.
Secondly, you didn't provide what version of Android you were running.
I'm guessing here, but you may be running the leaked 4.4 Samsung ROM, if so, look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2607215
If not, then I have no idea.
So far you have created 3 threads for this request:
RULE 5. Create a thread or post a message only once.
I created one thread but it was in the wrong place. Someone told me to put it in the right place. Since I can't move threads I had to create a new one. I didn't realize the original guide was one this forum until later.

Rooting for the First Time (z981)

Pretty tired of my stock z981. I've been looking into rooting my device. I've found threads. But they point me into too many directions. Also, just to clarify, I would be rooting for the first time.
I found this thread, which has the steps.
androidforums.com/threads/new-root-method-for-z981-zmax-pro.1284305/#post-7792976
(I was going to join the discord posted in the thread, but the link/invite is expired. :| )
I need someone to walk me through the process at an elementary level, since I'm new to all this. Plus, I don't want to be to hasty and end up obliterating my phone.
I managed to turn on usb debugging. But that's as far as I got..
Seems no one answers this particular forum. My post has 33 views and not
one answer .
Sorry I couldn't be of any help, GLTY.

Use this link:

and go to page 7 or 8 where PowerUser64 gives a link to an excellent resource.
That should give you root access
