I don't think there is any different configuration to connect with PlayStation. You may check after changing the default Wi-Fi authentication protocol (WPA2)
hmm, i connected and logged in using my user and went into NBA2k13 and downloaded the updates
is that answers your question?

Are you using the built-in tethering app? Do you ever get redirects to the t-mobile upsell page when you use tethering on your computer?
For me, I can't even connect on my computer without either using Opera Browser or a UA-String change in Firefox. But I cannot do anything to make the PS3 not detect that I'm on t-mobile and block my connection. The PSN connection just "times out" because t-mo is blocking it.
Arrgghh
Edit: just saw you are in Beirut, not even on T-Mo USA I'm assuming lol. That could be why you have luck and I don't. DAMNIT!
I'd try using a 3rd party tether app. Namely the one that has its own google code page.

I've tried WiFi Tether, the TrevE version, foxFi, barnacle, pdanet.... none of them allow me to bypass the tmo upsell redirect.

I have had similar issues tethering my PS3.
Carrier: T mobile 70/month unlimited plan
Phone: Nexus 4
Initially, tethering worked for all PS3 applications (PSN, browser, netflix, system update). Then, they blocked PSN activity after a month or so. A few months later they blocked browser, but I could still use netflix and do system updates. Now nothing works. I have tried to use a wifi repeater in between the PS3 and Nexus 4 but still no dice, though I did not experiment too much with settings?
Id love to get my PS3 back online.

You guys really shouldn't use your phone data's download to download updates or games. Just use it to play online. It doesn't use up bandwidth to play. Heck I can play black ops 2 for an hour with tether and I use up like 30mb an hour. If you use it for downloading you're really going to have a red flag on your account.

Not trying to download a game. Just trying to download the blimp in gta. It's only a few kb I've heard. Also pdanet didn't work for me. I'm on carbon rom on my Nexus 4 and my wife also has carbon rom on her gs3. Her phone tethers perfectly. Any other tips?

A way to get around that is to use Firefox as your PC internet.

I definitely would like to be able to get access to all the AT&T hotspots that come in carrier-ridden phones. I use AT&T's service so hopefully it wouldn't be a hard thing to do? I'm assuming it's not possible.

Sorry to piggy back onto this topic but is it possible on AT&T if I download a tethering app such as the ones mentioned above that I could tether my nexus 10 free of charge? (As in them not cancelling my unlimited and putting me on a more expensive limited tethering plan).

Pass tmobile unlimited wifi hotspot bloock
this is my method. others my create threads bout it,but its mine!
1.download a vpn to your phone from the market(idc what you use)
2.turn it on (go figure)
3.turn on wifi hotspot
4. on firefox or chrome (if you arent using those, get one) download a user agent switcher.
5.switch user agent to another android device, others can work, but this way is always works
6. turn off vpn.
if you did everything correctly, you can tether still. this is how im writing this
The Vpn can be optional if you already can download a ua switcher. I only used it, cause I got blocked an that was the only way around it, that I could think of.
Its by a xda membr. Nt me

have you tried any other roms? You could try making an generic apn or use the alternate gateway...
go into ur data settings then apn settings create new any name and insert the epc.tmobile.com addy
If using firefox ua switcher I used vista ua's......opera vista never failed me
are you using this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1782009 ?
it says wifif tether works and it would be best for yourself and or dev to ask in their thread because some of the settings to change may work some and not work at all for other devices...
if i were you id backup then flash other roms after posting in the respective rom thread....see if its rom, android version, all the simple stuff

ur not spamming by any means...its just really hard to troubleshoot unless you. have the device in your hands
good thing is if you have data then there should be a way....
what was disconnecting the tether app or the vpn app?
if tether app then one of ur settings is not right and if it the vpn then youll have to check the other free and see if you cant get any of them to work.....maybe the tun.ko installer for droid vpn but idk if that helps
can you usb tether while ua blocking?

Just wanted to put this out there since I haven't seen anyone talking about it yet.
I was working with a friends ATT Note 3. I rooted it for him and then began working on modding the native hotspot. When I went to make the smali edits I saw that they were already there. So I fired up the hotspot and it worked. I am assuming this is also true if you are completely stock unrooted but didn't check first.
So if you have not rooted yet please test your hotspot and let us know the results. If you are rooted then the hotspot is definitely open.

That is odd. Maybe his account is messed up. Because he swears he never paid for the hotspot. But the mod which makes the native hotspot work on Sprint devices is already included in the rooted system, again didn't verify the non rooted system. So not sure what is up.

When you turn on your hotspot, if you get a message to call at&t, just press the home button (don't press ok). This should work for you, as it worked for me and many others. And the guy on the previous page that said "press the hinge button", he ment the home button.

Tried this widget and native tethering works with ATT. No need to freeze Tethering Provision, no need for FoxFi. Just install the widget as stated by mm3th and place on your home screen. Then press it, once the "call 611" comes up, hit the home button. You can even configure it without a problem.

Wifi hotspot should work out of the box if you have any mobile share plan. The only group of people who will need any type of third party mode will be those with the grandfathered unlimited. AT&T does not allow hotspot on the unlimited.
Try barnacle wireless tether for root user's
