Anyone using CWM recovery? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone was using CWM (Clockworkmod) Recovery as opposed to TWRP.
I noticed there's 6.0.3.2 version available for the S4 (Bell/Canada) variant on http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
Any feedback would be great and will this work on the Rogers variant of the i337m.
Thanks in advance!

Yes, it installs and works with the Rogers & any Canadian Variant of the i337m

So I just installed CWM via ROM Manager... Works great!

I did the same. I have a Koodo phone but when I select "reboot device" from the CWM menu the phone just switches off..Also has the issue where the date of backups is wrong (1970 think)..
I rooted my phone first using the motochopper method.

That would make sense right? You are trying to install the i337 cwm on a i747m.....that would crash your phone for sure.

CWM recovery installed on my Telus Galaxy S 4 , the ony problem that I have found, from the recovery, phone will not reboot, just turns off but it will reboot as soon and you power on the phone. Backups works and so do restores from ext sd card. Seems to work better than other recovery.

[Q] Phone not booting :(

I have an ATT I337 SG4,
I had my phone on stock rom and ran the casual by AdamOutler and got root and twrp recovery,
Now today i did a factory restet, and booted up normally, and the custom logo appeared on the splash screen on boot.
So then today , i tried unlocking my sim (carrier unlocking) using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283068
And it all worled out normally, after the last step, my phone went for a reboot but never booted up
Also i noticed that the custom and the unlock sign on the splash screen did not appear..
the phone was stuck on splash screen forever ,
So i booted onto recovery twrp, and did a full format..
and tried rebooting onto system again, when twrp told me an "your device does not seem to be rooted, do u want to install SuperSu"
My device was rooted before that reboot, so idk how did that come, neways, i said yes, and then i was stuck again on the splash screen,
Then i tried doing the same thing all over again but this time i chose not to install superSu when TWRP told me that i wasnt rooted ..
But the result was all the same..
The phone is still stuck on the booting "Samsung Galaxy S4 splash screen"
Then i tried flashing a custom rom from my sd card, JellyBlast , and there was no change in result, the phone is still stuck on the splash screen.
I would be really greatful if someone cold help me out of this ...
Thanks
Did you wipe system and then reboot before flashing a rom? Have you tried to odin the stock Rom? That's probably your best bet at this point.

Ok, first never flash anything again until you understand Odin and how to return to stock.
Go to the development forum and look for Adam Outlers stock Odin package and follow the instructions there.

okay, am flashing the md5 from the pda in odin, lets hope it boots
why did this happen though ??
Okay, i flashed the ATT MD5 file via odin and there was no problem, i got a successfull PASS,
but the phone is yet stuck on the Samsung Galaxy s4 splash screen!
Is this because of the changes in the service mode for carrier unlocking it ?

A word of advice, when ever you wipe system your wiping the os off your phone. You have to flash a rom or restore a nandroid at that point. It has nothing to do with the sim unlock.

Try reading the label on the box it came with
And match some letters and numbers.
But to be honest: I have no clue.

you have the option of philz cwm recovery for canadian variant or you could use the method listed on the twrp site (shell commands) to flash twrp.

The site is being re-sync'd so will be down for awhile. There's nothing wrong with your device. I tried to download an image from their site earlier today.
Bell Telus rogers fido virgin koodoo mts sasktel all same devices trust me on that.
You can download twrp ftom somewhere else and use recovery tools from play store.
What works for bell will work for telus.

Rogers S4 4.3 MK6...Can't install Recovery. HELP?

I finally pulled by S4 out of the box from December and foolishly took the OTA update to 4.3 MVLUEMK6.
I managed to root it, and install SuperSU. I cannot get any recovery installed......
Help?? I'm guessing it's an MK6 (from the build #).... Can anyone provide some insight??
I've had no issues with my S3 loading every ROM out there..........
Thanks in advance guys.

I have the same phone, loaded twrp through goo manager....some say you shouldn't do it that way ( no guarantee) is there a particular recovery your trying to load? Also be careful because our phone i337m shares the same forum as the US i337, they are different even though they are Galaxy 4S. I am sure there are likely Odin files kicking around here somewhere too....

S4 Download mode wont go!! HELP!?

Gentlemen,
In an effort to update MK6 to NC1, I loaded the firmware from SamMobile. Now my Rogers phone thinks its a Bell Phone.
I want to install TWRP, but Goomanager is no longer available on the playstore.
On previous devices, and this one, I installed it via ODIN. This thing won't go into download mode
(Volume Down, Home and POWER). No go. Phone just boots normally.
Consequently, the baseband is still MK6 (Why, I dunno) but the build is NC1. Strange?????
Advise from the gentlemen here please?
Thanks
DSSKing
If you're rooted you can use twrp manager from the play store. It replaced goo manager.
