OK first question
I'm running baked ROM. Can I just flash the .zip containing the new boot loader and radio from recovery? Do I need to be careful of what my currentg radio is?

If you are running 4.2.1, flashing the radio will break your sensors.
I am not sure about the bootloader...

"This" topic? THIS topic? This topic is the point of this entire forum! You can tell that, see, because your thread has the same name as the entire freaking forum.
Why would you try to drive an entire forum's worth of traffic into a single thread?!?
This is a joke.
I am all for people using search to find a specific thread dealing with their question or issue, but the key there is one thread per issue, NOT one thread for all questions and issues ever.
Trying to decrease the usefulness of XDA in order to karmawhore is not cool.

First of all, hello to you to.
I understand your concern but I disagree with you.
You see, this is not a Q&A thread for all questions and answers, it's specific to the Android 4.2.2 update. The reason I wrote the word update in bold is because that is the main issue. People have been asking many questions about the update and in most cases there were repetitive threads with the same exact question. This thread is definitely not decreasing the usefulness of XDA, it is just keeping it cleaner and increasing its efficiency.
I also understand that you want people to search for specific threads regarding their problem but the fact is - most of them don't. Most of them just make another thread, and that is why that method will never work very well.
I also want you to notice that this thread is a sticky, which means the Moderators support it. In fact, I discussed opening this thread with a moderator before I opened it and he gave me the green light.
Anyways, if you have a problem than deal with it, I am not here to fight with anyone, I'm just here to help.

Any idea why in 4.2.2 the lock screen clock widget changes every time I lock the phone? Does this on the n10 with 4.2.2 as well.

Yes, unless you are using the latest CWM, which has a feature to keep root and CWM after the upgrade.

Hmm, doesn't happen to me.
Try deleting all your lock screen widgets and putting them back on.
Re: [OFFICIAL] Nexus 4 Android 4.2.2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting Thread
I hope someone confirm .33 baseband working with 4.2.2. Because with .48 i'm experiencing data drops.
Re: [OFFICIAL] Nexus 4 Android 4.2.2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting Thread
I updated my SDK... I can get IN ADB just fine. However, once I get into the part eye I enter "ADB SIDELOAD UPDATE. ZIP" the response is "Can not read "sideload".
So basically it works with all commands but doesn't know what sideload means from what I gather from 3 hours wasted doing it over and over.
Anyone know how to fix this or what exactly is the issue?
I'm 100% stock by the way guys.

Just name the file 'update'. Windows auto names extensions. So if you name it update.zip the files is actually update.zip.zip

I can confirm that I still have data drops with latest update BUT the switch wifi/3G works better and download speed is better too.
So I won't come back to old baseband which is worse in my case.

Stocked, rooted, but installed a mod (zip file via recovery)
I'm stock, rooted, and installed this only mod: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36316048&postcount=78
Can I install the 4.2.2 with no worries? or because I had installed the above mod - I have to flash a factory image first?
Thank you

Does 4.2.2 fix either of the following issues which I have with my rev 10 4.2.1 Nexus 4?
- wireless charging with the Nokia DT-900 constantly cycles on and off
- wifi connections are forgotten, i.e. after making a connection the N4 not only loses it, but cannot see or list the network any longer

that doesn't seem like a bug anyone else has reported.
Screen sensitivity is still lousy on 4.2.2

I know. I didn't add a extra zip name to it. The issue is the command "sideload" as it seems adb doesn't recognize it. Hence the error message.

Hi, I have an AT&T S4 running 4.3 that was leaked a month ago or less. I saw today that Google officially released 4.3 for the GE S4 so I thought I would see talk about it here. Now that I'm looking I don't really see any stock 4.3 ROM's anymore with the exception of a few custom 4.3 ROMs like CM.
Where they pulled?

well if google JUST officially released it, you cant expect it to be ported just right after....
Yeah but I at least expected to see some talk about it. Also can't find the original 4.3 thread where you would think there would be recent discussion in there bumping it to the to in the development forum.

And Samsung requested removal of the leaked firmware so whatever is out there is what's out there for now...give it some time.
So Samsung is working on 4.3 for the non Google edition S4s?
I hope the S4 Active gets it..

I just rooted my AT&T galaxy S4 mk2 build and now i cant find a recovery for it anywhere. Do i just need to wait or is there something already out??Please help i haven't rooted a phone in 3 years and i'm just now getting back into it.
Go into the development section and get Safestrap. That's the only thing you can use, no true custom recovery. Make sure you read through the first pages of the thread and maybe some of the Q/A thread before doing anything.

Welcome to XDA.
Please keep in mind that this community is absolutely hammered by folks asking the same basic questions over and over and over again. It drives us nuts.
You get a one-time pass for being new.
But in the future, please use the search function for questions that you think have probably already been asked.
So my S4 rooted ATT i337 ended up taking a drop just after the case corner came off.
I have full insurance so I was able to get a replacement for my 32GB i337 and they surprisingly sent me the retail box with all the stuff in it. Admittedly, they had already included a new SIM card for me to activate.
My curiousity is this - is it possible that the stock version of the new device is pre-installed straight to MK2? IF that's the case does that help me in any way?
Also, I've been hesitant to root my phone impulsively because I was hoping to find a way to root it without getting the "custom" screen and essentially without voiding the warranty.
Rooting saves me a lot of battery life since I can freeze unnecessary garbage with Titanium Pro.
BUT if I want to sell this device in favor of a new one in the near future, I think it will sell for more if the warranty is not voided - also because the replacement made my warranty start it's 1-year duration from the day last week when I activated it (vs Dec 1st).
Any advice regarding rooting, warranty, and resale?
Thanks

I believe one of the alphanumeric strings on the outside of the box, on the same side as the barcodes, tells you which firmware version the phone inside has.

I'm asking bc kexec hasn't been made to have SS run almost any ROM that doesn't have stock kernel support on MK2.
What I really want is the bootloader unlocked - havent looked at the bounty in awhile. If I do it, I'm doing it for free or selling this phone. Had enough of these restrictions bc I bought my S4 later (???) and have fewer devs to collaborate with. Whether its my new or old one, my firmware never was early enough to unlock the bootloader. Part of me is glad BC stuff gets done when more people need it, including devs withOUT their unlocked ATT S4 and HAHAHA someone leaking an exploit from Samsung.
Btw Ted, thanks a ton for all your help, threads, info and so much more. You rock.

I just updated to kitkat and had to flash a 4.3 stock rom first because every time I tried to update it would boot back up in 4.3, now I have updated to 4.4.2. Now how do I root it? Last time I used cf-autoroot but that was 4.3 is it any different?

Well first you can do some searching. Then reading. And you'll find in the CF-Autoroot forum your answer(s) too.

I would be and I have been, but it seems that you could have had your answer within a couple minutes of just searching.
XDA is NOT a support site, though we do provide support to those that are willing to first try and help themselves.
It seems that in the past couple months the Q&A and other sections are filling up with redundant questions that are answered already in stickies, how-to's and the forums themselves. Often time the very same question (like yours) has been asked and answered a dozen or more times already.
Answer is yes to your question, just grab the lates from the threads site.

Yes I understand, but if you actually see my question it was more asking if cf autoroot would still work with kitkat.... not where do I receive it.. I have searched these before and I have the files on my computer, so to the other guy I have tried searching myself first. But I didn't know if cf autoroot updated to kitkat or if it even has too. I'm a guy that came from IOS (I hated that) and we had to wait for jailbreaks.. when I searched how to root galaxy s4 4.4.2 tutorials, factory unlocked versions of the s4 showed up. Which obviously I do not have.. and if I added sprint none would show up...
Well I'm glad you hated iOS. Lol
Here's my post from earlier that answers your question.
