Rooting doesn't give you a recovery. They are different things. You will have to flash a custom recovery through Odin

Looks like Odin mode had write protection and tars need a signature.

Getting a recovery for galaxy s4 mf3

Okay so I'm currently rooted on stock rom. I just want to know if there's any way that I can start flashing ROMs by using any recovery. At the moment I just keep seeing there's no recovery available for mf3 baseband.. I really want to take advantage of this phone with mods.. Please help

TWRP or CWM ?

Which recovery is best for this device? And is there a tutorial anywhere on how to flash them? I haven't had a Samsung device in years so I'm unfamiliar with modding it.
I'm already rooted.
Cheers

SAMSUNG-SGH-I437 recovery bricked.

Currently I'm on CM11 working fine but my recovery is bricked. I did the Power-Volume Up-Home. Trick but it says recovery booting but after that it reboots normally and boots into CM11 though

Did you flash PhilZ CWM? As you don't have root anymore you will have to flash it via Odin. When you boot into recovery you will be asked if you want to install SuperSU again.
Alright I'll try. I'm trying to root it via kingo android root

Is everything working? PhilZ CWM is the latest and probably best CWM (based on 6.0.4.8) you can get. Why do you want to install a older recovery version?

[Q] Stock recovery missing!!!

I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 SGH-I337 rooted. I tried to flash a custom recovery with Rom Manager, Rom installer, Safestrap and Odin in that order. All my attempts failed because the boot loader is locked and now the stock recovery its gone. My question is: If I flash a stock ROM like out of the box (NB1 OTA) in ODIN that return my phone back to original settings and with the stock recovery too? Thanks in advance!!!
Yes, your only Odin right now is to flash the full Odin tar file

No you can't go backwards with bootloaders. I assume since you weren't able to do custom recovery you're on a newer firmware nc1? If so you can root with towel root then only use safestrap as a means for recovery. But you'll only be able to install touchwiz based roms.
