Has anyone been successful installing Xposed framework on the S4 stock rom? If so, what kernel and what steps need to be taken? I've done a lot of reading on it but most is above my pay grade.
**Edit...I see that it has been updated to work with the S4. Will try it out and see what happens.
Have you gotten it to work

A quick search would provide you with all of the information you could possibly want.

Just looking for some clarification, Xposed Framework will work with a stock rooted S4?
I'm not looking to do any kernel or ROM flashing at this time, so this tweak looks like it would be something that interests me.

Yes. I'm running it on stock rooted S4 (with custom kernel but isn't necessary for Xposed). As always, make a backup before flashing just in case.

It's in the Cataclyzm ROM. I'm sure it's in others too.

If you wanna stay stock then I'd advise you to wait a bit longer for Xposed Framework for 4.4 to be released.

Just wondering if there is a way to restore device to defaults after using Trickster?

It will overwrite the original settings. Trickster sticks as long as the app is installed.

You have stock kernel ?? Trickster won't give you much options mate ... and my guess is it doesnt even work with stock kernel . You need OTHERS kernels like CIVZ or X-Note Kernel or Omega Kernel.

Maybe, but to be honest I am yet to be convinced as to how much I would benefit from a custom ROM. I scared myself after tripping the KNOX Counter without being aware of it. I currently have it rooted for a few apps only (Titanium and so on).
Plus seems ClockworkMOD Recovery isn't available for my N9005 (thats the message i get when trying to install it). TWERP not working despite ROM Manager stating it is installed. AND therefore....(are you still there?) I can't currently boot into a custom recovery mode anyway.
Phew!

you have to flash the latest recovery through odin , for twrp LINK1 TWRP 2.7.0.0 DOWNLOAD this file and flash it through ODIN 1.85 as that works best for recoverys and rooting .
if that recovery doesnt work try one of its older version
LINK2 TWRP 2.6.3.8

I'll install TWRP later - I preferred that when I had the Note 2
But in terms of ROMS, is it worth it....really? I can't recall being as excited about a custom ROM as I was about Jailbreaking iOS and installing Cydia.

Lol i know the feeling I am not saying this because i am a small part of x-note team but you should try x-note roms and you will see what features you might be missing on or for that matter any aosp rom or any other tw roms
MOST features on TW X-NOTE currently.

How presumptuous...
Far from being lazy, I am actually an extremely busy health care professional with a huge caseload of patients. I am not afforded the time that you might have in your job (presuming that you're working and not peeling stickers off your skateboard that is).
I took a rare lunch-break and thought I would ask a question. If that upset you maybe I should book you in with a colleague for some help?
Anyway, back to work - or your PlayStation maybe(?).
Thanks for your input, it was massively unhelpful, I'd appreciate it if you refrained from commenting on any of my future posts.....including this one. I doubt whether you'll be able to help yourself though....:fingers-crossed:

I upgraded to 5.0.1 on my S4 expecting everything to work fine. Didn't know Xposed wouldn't be compatible. So how long till they update it? These youtube ads are unbearable!
There's a beta version that works.

I've been searching through these forums for an hour and haven't found anything definite. I don't want to install the wrong thing, sorry.
Hey, I googled "xposed xda" the top link was to the xda article. There was a link to the xposed Framework forum. The top link in the forum is "[Xposed for Android 5.1] Make ~99% of modules work." Took all of 45 seconds. (I'm a little slow.)
I'm looking in that thread and it doesn't tell me how to install the framework on my 5.0.1 S4 and it's also detailing Android 5.1, not 5.0.1
It works on aosp, TW is buggy and can cause a boot loop so use with caution. BTW the xposed thread is under the apps forum not the phone forum

TW is touch-wiz by Samsung
AOSP is Android Open Source Project by Google and it's contributors.
They use different roms and kernels.

I've had It installed using cm based ROMs. AFAIK cm12 can be flashed on the G. So chances are xposed can be too.

That's right, something baked deep into touchwiz just does not like xposed one bit, you're heading for bootloops if you attempt to install it, I know i've tried.
Hi,
Problem is, that I cannot use Xposed anymore with CM 12.1, nor Vaniraosp (Exodus). I say that I can't use it anymore because Xposed used to work with Vaniraosp before I updated to the latest build.
What happens is that I flash Xposed zip through twrp as usual, but then my phone just won't boot, it doesn't bootloop, it just doesn't boot up.
I would appreciate some help, thanks [emoji3]

I don't think you're suing the right xposed build for those ROMs.

I'm using CM 12.1 which is android 5.1.1 and so is Vaniraosp. With them I'm using Xposed for Android 5.1.
Is that what you meant?
Sent from my LG-D802 using Tapatalk
No - I mean that there might be a ROM specific xposed build. For instance, my SlimLP ROM needed it's own build of xposed that I found in the thread. the regular 5.1 Xposed caused bootloops.

Oh, well, I guess I have to search for such a thing then. I'll give an update soon.
Update: I just found out that there is a newer Xposed build (v75) and I was using a slightly older v74 so I'm flashing this in a minute and I'll see if it works.
Update 2: Boom! That did it.Thx for the help guys.
